Quite a bit of this weeks Shop 'n Save's ad is devoted to store brand/generic products. The prices of store brand products look good at initial glance, but when I stop and think of the price I pay for "real brands" when I pick them up on sale and have a coupon - I always pay less. Although, the .98 toilet paper looks enticing, but I have to remember the kids accused me of buying toilet paper worse than schools when I bought cheap toilet paper before.

I didn't have much time to shop this week, since we were out of town for a few days. I didn't even make it to a local grocery store except for Aldi. But I have started to take a cooler with me when I travel for those items I can't pass up. This trip, I brought home meatballs from Ikea in Minneapolis and pork from HyVee in Iowa.

Walgreens - I didn't take a picture of my tube of Rembrant toothpaste. I needed to roll a $4 Register Reward, so I ran into Walgreens and picked up some Rembrant, used a $1 coupon and my Register Reward. $0 out of pocket, and now I have a $5 Register Reward for next week.

FREE Home Depot Kids Workshop - Build a Bean Bag Toss

From 9-noon, kids can build a Bean Bag Toss at Home Depot's FREE Kids Workshop "How to Clinic." This clinic is designed for children ages 5-12. No preregistration necessary, just show up between 9 and noon.

In addition to the constructed project kit, each child receives a child-sized orange Home Depot apron and an achievement pin.

Home Depot offers Kids Workshops the first Saturday of every month. For those who are good at planning ahead, the next workshop is on October 3rd to build a Firehouse Bank.

On six starry, late summer nights, an extraordinary retelling of an age-old tale will unfold in Forest Park. At the surface is a fully integrated art experience, embodied by original music, dynamic light, mise-en-scène and an ensemble of dancers. And at the core is a stirring reflection on the paradoxes of life.

Original work created and directed by Tom Brady, ANNONYArts consortium artist. Choreographed by Monica Newsam and Tom Brady.

Performances will begin at 8:30pm. It is advised to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

Maybe I'm just out of the preforming arts loop, but I have not idea what this really is. I love the FREE Shakespeare festival held every year in Forest Park, so I'm excited to see what this FREE performance is.
