  5. I am new to SNS as I just moved to the St. Louis area. I feel like a total newb asking all my questions, but here I go. Is the $10/$50 taken off at the bottom reciept or is it taken off each item? I want to submit for meat rebate where you have to spend $50 in meat, so don't want to be short if it rings the meat at a lower price. Also, I heard that you can use a $5/$50 SNS coupon with the $10/$50 on Thurs. Is this correct and will I have to have a total of $65 to use this coupon?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Kara,

The $10/$50 and $5/$50 may be used together and come off at the bottom. Your total before coupons must be $50. Last week with both of those, coupons, and Catalinas my total for $50 worth of groceries was less than $5.

Unless the rebate is an AB one, I suggest your total still be over $50. I know rebates have been denied before because they feel you are combining offers if you have a low final total. At SnS I like to have my total just over $50 each week, but my final total is never over $50. I throw in gift cards to make sure my total is enough for the rebates. Inmar is an especially picky company. I have had to call or email them numerous times to correct errors.

Welcome to St. Louis. It is a great place to bargain shop. Jeri really helps us save money.

    2. Hi Jeri,

I had even found some of the Yakisoba marked $.78 this one might be a YMMV on the prices. =)

I hope you are going to be able to do a couple rounds =) I am thinking to put something in the crockpot tomorrow before I take off just so I do not have to worry about cooking after tomorrows SNS marathon. =) I think I will go get a whole chicken out of the freezer now.

    1. Hi Anonymous,

These type of coupons are normally kept at the registers so just ask your cashier for it before she starts to check you out. HTH =)

    2. Hi Anonymous,

Also Yes you can use 2 coupons unless they say 1 per person/transaction. And Yes these will be deducted after you reach your total hand any coupons over then. HTH =)

  21. Jeri thank you again for all you do. I really haven't been working on my coupon usage much lately at all. Mostly I've been trying to "manage" my daily life. Why is May so crazy???

  23. My trip tonight was a total disaster. I've always been a midnight shopper at the Kirkwood store, but since they are no longer 24 hours I decided to try the St. John store, and that was a BIG mistake. Everyone was rude and totally unhelpful. They refused several internet coupons because they wouldn't scan, and it was an overall horrible experience. One of my Unilever deals didn't take $5 off, and they told me to come back tomorrow.

I had problems using the $2 Kikoman coupon also. They said it would make the item free, and they aren't allowed to take internet coupons for free items. I tried to explain that it wasn't a coupon for a free item, but they didn't seem to understand or care. There were tons of employees around, but one 1 or 2 really working. I feel bad admitting it, but I left a cart full of stuff in the middle of the store and walked out. Disappointed!

    1. Hi Zach - Sorry you had just a disastrous experience. Don't feel bad leaving a cart if you didn't get the service you were expecting. You should either contact Corp. or post you experience on their Facebook page.

    2. Zach,

I don't know about Shop 'n Save, but I had an issue regarding internet coupons making the item free at Schnucks. I went on line to file a complaint. They had me mail my coupons to them to verify that they were legit. When they verified they were legit, they sent me a gift card for the amount of the coupons. So I would try doing that with Shop 'n Save. It couldn't hurt.

    3. After all the disappointment and frustration last night, I went to the Kirkwood store this evening and I had a great night! No problem with any of my coupons, got all my cats, the lines were totally manageable, and everyone was so nice. I've learned my lesson on switching stores!

Thanks Janet for the Oscar Mayer snack pack deal. That made my night!

    4. Sounds like all SNS's are not created equally - at least when it comes to couponing. All glad all worked out for you in Kirkwood.

    5. SNS does have the policy that they dont take internet printables that reduce the price to less than 50%, so maybe thats why they refused the Kikoman coupon.

  24. 6 transactons after midnight...... for the most part everything went smoothly. Only 1 $5 cat did not print, and my cashier would only let me use 1 $5 q for my 20 powerade's. Will go back later when customer sevice is there and also need to do 2 more transactions. (The 2 stores I shop at will not take the single barcode internet printable q's, so I have to rearrange my q's to do those q's later during the day..... ) was told the computers are getting an upgrade next Thursday, so maybe those will scan then..... fingers crossed! Happy shopping

    1. Hi Michelle - From what I've been told by Corporate, the store are suppose to accept the IPs with the new bar code until their system is updated (unless things have changed)

  25. Seems I am not the only midnight shopper. Only did 2 transactions. One time my $5 Kraft Catalina did not print. I am thinking one flavor of Kraft salad dressing must not be in the system. Heads up ~~ so you remember to double check that you get your Catalinas. If it does not print, I recommend getting it corrected at Customer Service rather than calling Catalina.

    Happy Shopping!

  26. Life has been a little crazy in my neck of the woods so this was my first no coupon Thursday since July? I actually didn't use any coupons besides working the deals in store and 2 entertainment book coupons. I still saved 60%. Things are tight for us financially, but because of my savings we will be able to give so much more! Thanks so much, Jeri for all the work you do!

  27. Heads-up on the Unilever deal - you must spend $55 instead of $50 (to get the $10 off $50 today) because of the $5 instant deduction. In the past the instant savings did not affect the $50 total but today it did - maybe they've changed the system. They had to suspend my order while I went back to buy $5 more groceries. This was at the Collinsville, IL store. Did the Unilever deal work this way for everyone else?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Since others are reporting only spending $50 and the Unilever deal worked for them - did you maybe have something in your total that did not count towards the $50 like milk?

    2. I had to buy 5 more too, I was at the Arnold, MO shop n save.

    3. Do you know if your store has the new registers? My cashier said they were getting them soon and some of the stores, he specifically mentioned Kirkwood, already had them. Maybe the new registers are set up to not count instant savings towards the $50. (I am not going to like it if they do.)
If you had any coupons with the new barcodes and they could scan them, then they probably have the new registers. Just an idea...

    4. No milk or any other non-qualifying items on my order, just groceries. Maybe it's just the Collinsville store!? I know it didn't work that way previously so thought maybe S'nS changed their system. Glad that others have not run into this problem.

    5. Hi qpons2,

Thanks for the info on the Unilever deal. I did one trans today and did not receive the instant off-CS corrected by giving me cash back. And my store has had the computer updates for the registers also.

I agree with JB this does not look good in working to our advantage with the new updates.

    6. Thanks everyone for the heads up with the new registers. Looks like those new registers are going to change some shopping strategy.

I'm wondering if you plan a trip that is over $50 by the cheapest item in the instant deal and you have that one item rung up last, if the $10 would come off and then the instant savings? Also wonder if you did that if the $10 would be added back on to your bill?

  28. I did four trips this morning and other than having my Mom confuse (she shops like hubby throw it in the cart - LOL) did well. One of my $5 Kraft did not print because for some reason the Homestyle Mac and Cheese did not trigger the cat. They went ahead and fixed it at customer service, so just a heads up if you plan on purchasing it.

  29. Unilever deal worked for me even though my total went down to $45 at the end. An idea would be to have an Unilever item scanned last. Maybe then your total goes to $50 and is reduced to $45, instead of reducing first and never getting to $50. Might be worth a try.

  30. I did 3 trips today. My Unilever one worked on $50 just fine.

Also the Sundrop coupons took off a full dollar on .88. I didn't expect that so it was nice to get an overage. In total I spent $70.13 on $232.06 wroth of groceries for a total of ~70% savings. Plus I have a $5 catalina left to use. I think I might go back later on and get some more shrimp/tilapia. We eat a lot of it and these were good prices. Couple that with $15 off the top plus another catalina for $20 off with no coupons. Not bad.

I was surprised too, the stores weren't super crowded this morning. Certainly had volume but nothing huge.

    1. Hi Marcella,

Good to see you checking in and Way To Go on your trips. When I used the Sundrop coupons today the register automatically adjusted the coupons down. My store has just been through the computer updates and even the new barcodes scanned with no problems today. I think even accidental overage is a thing of the past when all stores are updated.

    2. Hi Janet - Those new registers are going to be a blessing in most cases It will make it much easier on the cashiers.

Anything that will make a store more coupon friendly is worth the little given up by a couponer.

    3. Hi Anonymous,

=) OM Snack packs are running $.98 ea.

I been buying in sets of 5 to receive the $4 Cat back.

      5 x $.98 = $4.90

Get the $4 Cat back comes to $.91 w/tax for 10 oz of lunchmeat. There are 4 varities. I love the chicken and it is just enough for a sandwich or to put on crackers. =)
