Saved 87% This Week

It was another great week of shopping.  But, I'm ready for more than General Mills products to be on sale at the grocery stores.

CVS
You have to love CVS. There is nothing better than shopping when you don't have to open your billfold.

Before sales & coupons: $25.34
Spent: $0.00 and a $10 ECB
Saved: $25.34 and now have $12.98 in ECBs

Schnucks
I was back to my Sunday evening shopping at Schnucks. I really didn't need more Pillsbury biscuits, but purchasing them allowed me to roll my Catalina coupons, pick up the lasagna noodles for free, and the Progresso soup for $0.17 a can. And, I still have $21 in Catalina coupons to spend.

Before sales & coupons: $67.64
Spent: $1.50
Saved: $66.24 for a 98% savings

Walgreens
Walgreens was Saturday night shopping. The Sinex was a money-maker, and since there was still plenty in stock, I wasn't going to pass up making a few dollars.  I'm hoping to grow my Register Rewards to buy an Entertainment book for the Shop 'n Save $5 off $50 coupons.

Before sales & coupons: $82.35
Spent: $3.98
Saved: $78.27 for a 95% savings

Shop 'n Save
I'm a little burnt out on General Mills products, even with a great sale. I debated not even shopping at Shop 'n Save this week, but I really wanted some Marzetti Caramel Dip for $1.50.

Before coupons & sales: $69.25
Spent: $9.89
Saved: $59.36 for a 86% savings

Dierbergs
Since the Dierbergs I shop at is next door to Shop 'n Save, I couldn't pass up picking up a few items on their Thursday sale.

Before coupons & sales: $28.89
Spent: $11.44
Saved: $17.45 for a 60% savings

Aldi
Comparable Schnucks price: $17.06
Spent: $10.58
Saved: $6.48 for a 40% savings

Weekly Totals
Before sales & coupons: $290.53
Spent: $37.39
Saved: $253.14 for a 87% savings

Year to Date Totals
Spent: $1,688.09 ($40 weekly average)
Saved: $5,874.65  ($140 weekly average)

Splurge Funds: $47.79

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.

  1. Thank you for showing us what you bought this week, Jeri. It is so encouraging to see how coupon shopping works out in real life. Blessings to you.

  2. Hi Gloria - You're welcome. I'm a very visual person. I love to see what others bought and how much they saved too.
