Menu Plan Monday - Week of 9/10/12

There is a lot more beef on my menu lately - we split a side of beef with a friend.  Besides the price being a lot better than the grocery store (less than $2.50 lb), it taste so much better.

Monday: Crock Pot Mongolian Beef,  Broccoli, Pineapplee
This is a new recipe for me. I love Mongolian Beef, and the ease of using a Crock Pot.  Hopefully, this recipe will at least come close to tasting like what you get in a Chinese restaurant.

Tuesday: Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwiches,  Baked Beans,  Homemade Applesauce

Wednesday: BBQ Stuffed Baked Potatoes, Green Salad, Pears
The last time we visited my parents, we went to a Famous Dave's for lunch and I had a BBQ Stuffed Potato.  It was fantastic.  I'm going to try and recreate it with my leftover pulled pork

Thursday: Spicy Sausage & Cauliflower Soup
When cauliflower goes on sale at Aldi, we have Spicy Sausage & Cauliflower Soup.  Even people who don't like cauliflower will eat it in this soup.

Friday:  Pork Tenderloin, Grilled Cauliflower, Long Grain & Wild Rice

Saturday: Baked Mostaccioli, Green Salad, Garlic Bread

Sunday: Pioneer Woman's Pot Roast, Mashed Potatoes, Homemade Applesauce
Back on the menu from last week.  Something always changes in our family, and a meal I had planned doesn't get fixed.

Whats for dinner at your house this week?

  1. Jeri - We're thinking alike with the cauliflower soup on the menu! Thanks for reminding me to put sausage in it, I made it so many different ways last year.

    1. A few week's back, I found spicy sausage marked down to $0.99 lb. on a managers special - the use by date was the same date I bought it, so I came home and put it in the freezer. I've been craving Cauliflower soup ever since. I was very happy to see cauliflower as a produce pick this week.

    2. I have some sausage in the freezer I need to use up. Trying to empty the freezer so I can buy frozen stuff on the next $10 Thursday at SNS. I may make the soup tomorrow, its sounds so good!

    1. Hi Michelle - We went in with a guy my husband works with and bought a 4-H Cow from a farm family. The butchering was done a Sprauge's Locker in Bookfield MO. I looked for a link, but they don't have a web page.
