  1. haha...diebergs is so overpriced to begin with...even with triple coupons not worth the gas overall to go there. Sorry, but its true

    1. I'm not so sure I feel that way about Dierbergs.

I've gotten some great deals there. I'll be picking up $0.97 ice creams. Not sure I've ever paid less than a $1 for a carton of ice cream.

    2. I also like Dierbergs! I think people tend to think the way of anonymous and overlook them, but I have gotten many excellent deals there over the years...I do have to admit that their recent 1 day sales, etc. have not been particularly wowing though.

    3. Yup...Deirbergs has some great finds, you just have to look - and I get sometimes that's just more time than people have to spend. I got Yoplait Greek yogurt there for free a few months ago...they were clearencing it out because it was nearing the exp date - so they were selling for $.25 each!

They have had the BEST deals on Red Gold and Brooks chili and Jell-O the past few years when they offer the catalinas.

    4. I also love Dierbergs. They are the closest grocery store to my house, and I find myself going there more and more. I used to assume they were so much more expensive on everything, and went their sparingly, but they aren't. Their sale prices are comparable to anywhere else, and I don't buy much of what's not on sale. Many of their regular shelf prices are the EXACT same as Schnucks.

I love the markdown aisle. Their produce is beautiful and no more expensive than other stores. I can't even buy produce at a store like shop n save anymore. Gross. Dierbergs has spoiled me.

If you are doing all of your shopping at any one store, you are overpaying for something.

I just got back from there and found these few additional prices:

      Nesquik pouches $1.09 - .50 tripled = free
      Smart Balance spreadable butter $2 - .50 tripled = .50
Planters peanut butter $2.50 - .40 tripled (from holiday coupon book I found at Schnucks) = $1.30

  2. Westpac frozen vegetables were $1.69 at my store. There is a .50 insert coupon that makes them .19 a bag.

  3. As usual, keep an eye on the register with the Prairie Farms coupons! My ice cream coupons didn't triple this morning so it was off to the customer service desk for an adjustment.

    1. My Customer Service wouldn't fix the triple, and was picking over the coupons scrupulously. I didn't want to argue the point someone else made that Dierbergs offered the triple, not Prairie Farms. They tripled fine at Schnucks. $1.97 is still a good ice cream price:)

  4. Prairie Farm coupons are not suppose to triple, they state "do not double".

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That means that Prairie Farms itself will not pay for the coupons to be doubled. Stores like Dierbergs and Schnucks cover anything beyond what the manufacturer allows as a form of promotion.

  5. my Dierbergs would not triple Praire Farms. Schnucks had no problem with the tripling even when I gave them the option to refuse me. in fact, this week the computer did it automatically.

  6. Both my Prairie Farm insert dip and printable sour cream coupons tripled automatically at Schnucks yesterday. They both "tripled" up to the item amount. I was pleasantly surprised, because we eat a lot of sour cream, but didn't want to have to deal with going to CS multiple times.

  7. My dierbergs is always like that with me when I try to coupon there....I've had them refuse coupons that were perfectly valid to use...scan the items thru without telling me they are not accepting a coupon....but to make it worse keeping the coupon as well (after I see when I get to my car the coupon was not taken off)....Thats the kind of trouble that makes me stay away. Its like they peg me for trying to "pull one over" on them just because I'm using coupons. when I have experiences like that a few times...I will pass up deals because of it.

    1. I've had very pleasant experiences with coupons at Dierberg's. They even went out of their way last night to help me. The cashier and manager were very friendly and helpful. I was at the O'Fallon stores on K and on 79. Got some EXCELLENT deals, so maybe try a different store if your customer service is lacking.

  8. Horrible shopping trip today.....left ice cream and once cpns weren't doubled and price errors I'm actually ahead of the game but the time....1/2 hour and the attitude I got and saw from cashier....CS was really nice but did not make up for cashiers attitude...I actually still have to go back because I was charged wrong on 4 items. Cashier was rude at register and CS. Extremely disappointed in dierbergs

    1. The cashier you get makes a HUGE difference. What store were you at? I will try to avoid it!

  9. Hi All,
stopped in last night and found Reese's canned artichokes 2/$4 there's a .50 q on all you's website' after tripled q makes them ....50 a can! awesome. So ready for spinach and artichoke dip. Also Reemes frozen noodles or dumplings 3/$5 making them only .16 each. (insert q, no idea which one-sorry)It was a good trip, no problems at all.

    1. Hi All - I changed my post to reflect the Prairie Farms coupon was not tripling.

I have a feeling Dierbergs is not really into this triple coupons promotion - just felt like they had to keep up with Schnucks. Unless they want to really match what Schnucks is doing (tripling coupons even if they say do not double or triple) then they shouldn't match the promotion.

Thanks to those who posted price checks. I'll write up a new post with the info. Don't worry if you don't know where the coupon came from, I'll check the database.

  10. Does anyone have any idea why the Prairie Farms coupons have caused trouble at multiple stores lately? For well over a year my Prairie Farms Qs automatically doubled at Dierbergs without issue, but a month or two ago that stopped.

This seems to be specific to Prairie Farms, as every other "Do Not Double" coupon I've ever redeemed at Dierbergs, whether it's from an insert or was printed online, has automatically doubled (or tripled, when applicable).

  11. Dierberg's has the 3pk of Fleischmann's yeast for $1.29 vs Schnucks $1.50. Used the 40cent coupon to make them $0.09ea.
