Do You Read Comments?

I know a lot people are newly interested in couponing right now because of TLC's Extreme Couponing - and they are  trying to figure out the couponing world. When I first started reading deal/coupon blogs, I didn't even think about checking the comment section.  I missed a lot that would have made my learning curve much easier and quicker.

My advice to newbies is to not only read deal/coupon blogs, but read the comments too. You will find a wealth of information not on blogs themselves.

Comment sections are sometimes a little hard to find.  Comments on Coupon STL are at the bottom of the post.  The above graphic shows you where to look.

Here is some of the information you'll find in comments
  • Questions asked and answered
  • Shoppers experiences - what worked for them, or not
  • Additional deal info
  • Sharing of shopping plans
  • A community of people working together helping other couponers
Next time you reader a post,  check out the chatter in comments.  I think you'll find it helpful.

  1. Yes! It also helps me to learn quickly when a deal has died or if there is any fine print I didn't catch.

  4. I agree with this. You should also always read the comments/reviews on recipes, no matter the site! Half the time, I adjust the recipe based on the comments/reviews.

  6. Hi All - I think comments make a blog. I know I couldn't do this without all of you.

I'm always surprised when I talk to people I know read deal/coupon blog and they tell me they don't read comments. To me comments are the best part of any blog.
