Walgreens $5 Scenario - Week of 1/15/12

The most cost effective way to shop at Walgreens is to roll Register Rewards - spend Register Rewards on products that trigger more.

I suggest checking out at the Cosmetic Counter. Multiple transaction always go smoother at a less busy register.

If you are following my $5 Scenario's you have $3 Tom's of Maine  Register Reward to start this week's shopping.

Check out all of this week's Walgreens Deals.

NOTE: Word is, some store are now limiting the number of sale items you can purchase and the number of transactions allowed.  Check with the staff at your store before you shop.

Transaction #1
purchase:
(1) South Beach Diet Snack or Meal Bar $5.99
(1) W Candy - $0.99 (estimated price - needed as filler to use RR)
use:
(1)  South Beach printable coupon (no longer available) - $1.00
Walgreens in-ad coupon for W Candy - $0.50
Tom's of Maine Register Reward from last week - $3.00
= $2.48 + tax and get a $5.99 South Beach Register Reward

Transaction #2
purchase:
(4) Aleve @ $3.00 off $6.79 = $15.16 (estimated from online price)
(1) Glade Decor Scents $2.99
(1) W Candy $0.99 (needed as filler to use RR)
use:
(2) $5/2 Aleve coupons (12/04/11 RP) - $10.00
(1) Glade Decor Scents coupon (1/15/12 SS) - $0.75
Walgreens in-ad coupon fro W Candy - $0.50

Items purchased
(4) Aleve
(1) South Beach Diet Bar
(1) Glade Decor Scents
(2) W Candy

  1. Great scenarios! I wonder if those south bech bars are good.... guess I'll be finding out soon :) I have a $5 scenario set as well... I love seeing how different people put together their scenarios! Here is mine http://wp.me/p20vNT-fd

  2. Just a head's up, I was told by my Walgreen's cashier that I could not use my $5.99 RR to purchase another South Beach Box if I wanted to get another $5.99 RR. You probably have on the list of company guidelines of Walgreen's but just thought I'd let everyone know in case anyone like myself who had just forgot. My casher was very nice, so I'm sure she was right.

Could you explain what the, $3.00 of $6.79 means? Thank you so very much.

  3. Also did not get my other -2- RR's for the additonal 2 Glade products in which I probably used my 1 RR received on an additional transaction...I guess the same rule applied...maybe it's been this way all along; but I don't remember this rule last year.

On a 4th transaction, I purchased -1- L'oreal Color product and -1- 99 cents hand lotion; but was advised I could only use the Walgreen's $3.00 coupon and -1- $5.00 RR. I could not use 2 RR's to cover my box of L'oreal...another surprise...I thought last year I could use as many as the products purchased to match the 2 coupons used? Ahhh, it's getting complicated. I may have to go back to Couponing 101. Laugh.

    1. Hi Debra - The cashier was correct about the South Beach RR. You can't roll RRs for products from the same manufacturer.

$3.00 of $6.79 is a typo. It should read $3.00 off $6.79. Thanks for catching that, I'll fix the post.

For transaction #4 I think you were correct. If the L'Oreal coupon was a Walgreens coupon it doesn't count in the coupon/items purchased requirement.
