    1. Thanks for the kind words. Instead of staying up late, I got up early - really early. I'm due for a nap already.

    3. I ran into Jeri once at CVS. She pointed me toward a deal before she even knew I read her blog!

  2. Unfortunately there is no moneymaker on the Dole Fruit Crisps. We are limited to 3 like coupons, so a moneymaker scenario is not possible.

    2. Am I reading it wrong...it says off of 2....so you would only use 2 coupons.....

    3. No you're not wrong -it's me. I was up way too early to think. I'm not kidding about needing a nap.

  3. No problem, Jeri! Sleep deprivation is rough on us coupon ladies! At least the Crisps are still free, just not a moneymaker.

    1. The Dole Parfait deal won't be a moneymaker either for the same reason, but the moneymaker on the regular Dole pineapple should be ok since that coupon is $.75/2 rather than $.75/1.

  5. Ok, let me think this one out and see what the experts say.

I have to buy 4 dole fruit crisps to get the $1 cat.

    I buy 4 at 2 each = 8.00
    I use 3 .75/1 coupons, doubled = -6.75
I pay 1.25 for 4, and get $1 back, making it not a money maker, but $0.06 each?

So, it would be better to buy three with three coupons and not get the cat?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The Catalina is only $.75, not $1. So this is what your scenario would look like:

      I buy 4 at 2 each = 8.00
      I use 3 .75/1 coupons, doubled = -6.75
I pay 1.25 for 4, and get $.75 back, making it not a money maker, but $0.13 each.

Since my family doesn't regularly eat these and I have access to many IPs, I'm going for the freebie, but that is totally up to you :)

    2. you could use a 4th coupon, but the cashier may not triple it. You could still get a 4th and get at least 75 cents off.

  6. general mills cereal - $4 off 4 (2.47 each). get 2 wheaties and 2 kix. makes them 1.47 each. Then, take two coupons for 75 cents off wheaties and two coupons form 75 cents off kix = free. (printables)

capri sun 2.25 each. 30 cent printable, 90 cents off makes them 1.35 each

  13. Colgate kids toothpaste = 1.99 use 50/1 newspaper coupon = .49 (I know you can get free adult toothpaste often, but is this s good price for kid toothpaste?)

Kozy Shack pudding 3.28, use 75/1 newspaper coupon = 1.03

    Huggies 56 ct wipes are 2.29, use 50/1 IP coupon = .79

With the deal on GM cereal, the 75 cent coupons only triple up to 1.47 (the price after instant savings, so not a moneymaker).

My Sschnucks (Brentwood) has some clearance Simplait at .44 (date was April 6, blackberry and vanilla kind) -- you can use a 40/6 newspaper coupon to make them .24 each.

  14. A shopper posted this on Schnucks facebook page. Can anyone confirm or deny that the cereal purchase works?

I stopped by the store this morning to take advantage of the awesome deal with the instant savings on 4 boxes of cereal. When I got there
I was informed that the instant savings was actually from Manufacturer coupons, thus inhibiting me from using my coupons that I brought along. First off, let me share my appreciation for the great Triple Coupons opportunities, but may I also say that it certainly felt like there was a level of false advertising, as any other major store that we have shopped at shows the savings as a manufacturer coupon so the customer and cashier don't have to be confused or embarrassed by the situation. It also made for a much smaller deal than originally anticipated. Thank you again.

    1. I had no problem with the GM cereal deal. The register automatically takes off $1.00 of each box when you buy 4. They originally rang up $2.47 each but then after scanning 4, it took another $1 of each, & I used 4 manf. coupons.

    2. Shannon, I had no problem using cereal manufacturer coupons and getting the instant savings at Brentwood. But when you buy 4, the price is 1.47 each so coupons will only triple to 1.47.

    3. It worked fine for me. The cashier had to manually enter the 1.47 coupon, because she said it would have tried to take the whole amount off. I don't know if anyone was able to make money or not. A moneymaker would have been awesome, but I'm not complaining about free.

Just wanted to share that if you are printing the Kahiki coupon from the face book that it was not scanning correctly. It was scanning as $1 and that's it.

Also...Where are folks finding the Spooners cereal. Is it in the cereal isle?? I could not find it...anywhere:(

I used two .75/1 kix and two .75/1 wheaties. One of the four did not scan properly, so the cashier keyed it in, but then it didn't triple, so I went to cust service to get my 1.47 back.

Stuff like that really, really bothers me b/c it was a mistake I made. I keep reminding myself that even without those deals it was still pretty good and I got other things for free. Plus someone left their IP Simply Cranberry coupons in the cooler. That's the only juice we ever drink so I was excited that I got 2 extra coupons.

    3. Since the dole coupon is coded for either product (parfait or crisps) I think it's been tripling to the $2.25 regardless of what product you buy. I bought 2 crisps @ 2/$4 and both of my .75/1 IPs tripled and took off $2.25 each. I found this happened with another coupon I had too that was coded for several different product sizes of the same brand (it was soda, but good on 1 2L or 1 12pk) and it tripled taking off more than the price of the product.

For me, it happens quite often that the shelf is empty but when I ask, most of the time they actually find the item(s) in the back but just haven't restocked the shelves. Out of 10 items that they seemed to be out of, they had all but 2. And most times, those will be on the shelf the next day. They are always very nice about going in the back to look & sometimes they write out a discount coupon for my waiting & inconvenience. I love Schnucks!

  42. Hi fellow couponers -

I learned something this evening I wanted to share as I have run into this issue before but didnt understand why and it was never explained to me as clearly until tonight [not at the fault of the cashiers, I truly do not think they understood!]

Customer service on K [big shout out to them!!] explained any time you have a Schnucks coupon - whether it is a drive time, Wednesday WOW or even out of their book, have the cashier ring first. These coupons need to be applied when the transaction is still "open" - before they "close" it for payment. All manufacturers coupons get applied for payment when the transaction is closed.

If they get a Schnucks coupon after they started applying the payment, the transaction has to be reopened. This seems to confuse the system and it reapplies coupons, but I have yet to see it apply them correctly. It changes coupon and double/triple amounts. Customer service and I went through my transaction and she had to pay me back over $3.50 because coupons didnt reapply correctly. She said she has seen it before when she was ringing and I know I have had this happen twice today, and many times in the past.

Just wanted to pass this along as it is confusing and not all Schnucks employees will understand what happened.

    2. I had a Wed Wow coupon for the sausage and it was actually the last coupon the cashier scanned. I noticed that it didn't take it off of my total. The cashier then had to go and reopen the original transaction and apply the coupon. You should notice on your receipt that the Wed wow coupons aren't listed with the other coupons. HTH

    4. Its hard to explain, but for instance the customer service lady noticed two of my $.75 coupons only tripled up to $1.47 - it computer was looking at the wrong item. It should have tripled up to $2.25. The computer gets confused when they reopen the transaction. if you watch the screen when that happens, the totals change on the screen and then it rescans everything, just not correctly.

    6. Thanks for this info, Kelly. I guess this is the reason why I was charged tax BEFORE coupons yesterday. My OOP was $2.59 and $1.26 of it was for tax. :( I didn't go to CS. I just hope though that it won't happen again because I really work/walk hard to get the deals. :)

Thanks also to everyone on this site for all your inputs/price checks/helpful tips. Really appreciate them.

  43. I thought I posted this question earlier from my phone, but I'm not seeing it, so I apologize if I am repeating my question...

What would happen if you have a $.75 coupon that triples to $2.25, but the item you are purchasing with that coupon is only $2? Does the coupon still triple and become a MM? Or will it even triple at all? Or perhaps only duplicate itself to match the total cost of the item??

    4. I have found it really depends on the cashier. I went this morning and had a less than stellar experience. I had 15 coupons. Three did not ring up correctly. As I noticed it and mentioned it to the cashier. She said it comes off in the end. Well it didn't. I went to customer service and she said that I shouldn't have been able to use the BOGO free. So the moral of the story is, I will now start stalking cashiers :)When I went to same store yesterday and had a wonderful cashier. It only amounted to a few dollars so it's not that big of a deal but geez, some of these cashiers act like I'm bothering them by asking them to do their jobs. That is why I stopped going to Walgreens so I guess my Schnucks that a half a mile away will be on that list. This is only my second "event" with coupons and I am super grateful to have these at a time like this so I will not dwell on the attitude of one cashier. Renee

  45. B1G1 coupons can be a little tricky. Sometime the B1G1 coupon is attached to two items. If not, you can use (1) B1G1 and (1) $/1 coupon when you buy two.

    1. Here is another great buy that I found..I haven't seen it listed yet. International delight coffee creamer is $3.98 minus $.75 (triples to $2.25) making each 32 oz coffee creamer $1.73. This coupon was found in 3/17 coupons. I am not a coffee drinker but I have been told this is a good deal.

I'm afraid the list gets unruly on these Super coupon weeks. If anyone has ideas on how I can format the list so readers can easily tell what new deals I've added and when, but they don't miss the older deals - I'm all ears.

    1. Hi - Welcome to the world of couponing.

Schnucks - Always doubles/triples coupons even if they say "do not double"

Dierbergs - The registers will usually double/triple all coupons, but a over zealous cashier might stop that form happening. They have gotten a lot of flack on their Facebook page because of the inconsistency between stores or cashiers. I haven' heard of anyone not get all their coupons tripled this week.

If a transaction doesn't go the way I planned, I have no problem telling the cashier I've decided not to buy that product.

    2. Thanks I went to Schucks and used the sour cream deal, I also got free dip that I thought I would share. The Prairie Farm Bacon Cheddar or Jalapeno Fiesta Dip is on sale for $1.50, the Prairie Farm site has a coupon for .50 off 1, when tripled it means free dip!

    Planning this deal:

    Buy 6 pizza rolls at 3 each = 18.00
    Use 2 .75/3 = -4.50
    Buy 3 Culinaria at 1.99 = 5.97
    (1 free wyb 2 pizz rolls) = -5.97
    Buy 3 sundrop 2L at 0.96 = 2.88
    (1 free wyb 2 pizz rolls) = -2.88

All for 13.50? Any reason why this won't work?

    1. Hi Shannon - There is a $0.50/1 Totino's Rolls coupon in 3/24 SS insert

I really can't say if this scenario will work or not. Who knows how the registers are programmed with the crazy things that happen with them.

But, give it a try, if it doesn't work, tell them you've changed you mind and don't want to purchase it after all.

    2. Mine beeped too. It said it was an invalid start date, the coupon didn't start until tomorrow! I have never seen that before. The coupon itself didn't list a start date, so the cashier pushed it through. My guess is starting tomorrow, the coupon should be beep free.

  62. Ugh. Just did a small trip. Apparently, the Bakers Joy spray .75/1 only tripled up to 0.99. So I went to CS to get my But the CS lady was very unhappy with me, the cashier, the coupon, and the triple promotion. She also didn't believe my math that a) it should have tripled b) that .75 x 3 is 2.25 c) that 2.25 - .99 is 1.26, and d) that I used two coupons, so she should have given me back 2.52. She kept counting my items, she went back to the register and got out the coupons I had used, she went through the transaction item by item to make sure I wasn't confused or lying. That's not my usual store. For a reason.

I know they are just doing their jobs, but it would be nice if they didn't act like I am trying to pull this gigantic sneaky scam.

Anyway, I got two string cheese, two baker's joy sprays, one steamfresh rice, three curad bandages, and (another) one pound of sausage. Spent (after my refund, before tax) 3.88. Regular price was 21.52! I saved 82%.

  63. Jeri,

Are you collecting price checks on the new inserts?

I've got a .50/2 Steamfresh in the 3/24 SS. Some varieties are $1, making them $0.25 each wyb 2.

Sargento ultra thin slices are 2.50. There is a .75/1 in the 3/24 SS making them .25 each.

Palmolive liquid (this could use a size check - I'm using the app) are 1.79 and there is a .50/1 in the 3/24 SS. Makes them .29 if the size is right (14 oz+). There is also a .75/1 on Palmolive Soft touch. App says 3.69, so 1.44.

Also, I discovered that my SS insert has lots of duplicates! The whole section that begins with Excedrin and ends with presidential dollar coins is there twice. BONUS! I wonder if everyone's is like that.

  64. Good job, Anonymous! Couponing is hard work some days. I got the best cashier at Schnucks the other day, she was almost as happy about my savings as I was! My Dierbergs cashier today had to pull apart the self scanner change machine to give me $2.25 back after she missed one of my .75 coupons. Its so much nicer when the cashiers dont crab about mistakes that arent our fault.

Angel Soft double roll 4 pack is $2.89-.45 MQ from recent insert = $1.54. Maybe not the greatest price but t.p. is one of the few items I'm not price-obsessive about. Yoplait Light yogurt with Granola 2 pack is $2.52-.75 printable on coupons.com =.25.

I bought four small pineapple cans, two crisps, and two packs of parfaits. I got the .50 and .75 cats, and I also got back 1 on 3 crisps, .75 on 3 parfaits, and 1 on 8 8oz pineapples.
