This was a great week for coupon shopping. If the deals stay this great through November, I don't know what I will do. I'm out of pantry and freezer space.
Shop 'n Save
I shopped twice on Thursday to take advantage of the $10 off $50 deal, and I used a $5 off $50 purchase coupon from the Entertainment book on both shopping trips. I rolled my first $15 Catalina, and have another $15 Catalina to spend next week. And, I got the Cokes, Herbal Essences, Alexia Fries, Kashi Cereals, Fresh Express Salad Kits, and Taquitos with coupons for a free product or a high value coupon that made them free.
Quite a few readers commented that their stores were out of Cottonelle and Breyers on Thursday, if they had any to start the day. The store I shop at has very few sale shoppers, and even fewer people that use coupons. If your store was out of what you wanted to purchase, you should voice a complaint with Shop 'n Save's corporate office.

Schnucks
The only reason I went to Schnucks this week was because I had $1.50 in Catalina coupons expiring. I was lucky to find room in my freezer for the veggies.

Total spent: $0.30Total saved: $7.71 for 96% savings
Walgreens
It has been weeks since I spent as much as $5 at Walgreens, but my teenage sons were happy with the Tag purchase. And, I was very happy to trade Register Rewards for Shop 'n Save coupons in the Entertainment book.
Before coupons & sales: $77.57
Total spent: $5.08Total saved: $72.49 for 93% savings
Target
Has anyone tried to make Rice Krispie Treats with Froot Loops? I'm thinking I should give it a try. I'm sure my husband would eat them no matter how they turned out.
Before coupons & sales: $27.78
Total spent: $7.00Total saved: $20.78 for 75% savings
Dierbergs
As I was walking out of Dierbergs with my three little bags, it dawned on me - I spent almost three times as much as I had at Shop 'n Save this week for so few bags of groceries. I think couponing is warping my brain - I saved 70% and still questioned if I spent too much.

Hi Jeri, I don't stop by shop n save very often because i thought they only took 10 dollars off if your total was more then 50. Is that before or after they've taken off coupons? So your total before the coupons automatically takes off the 10?
ReplyDeleteI just always thought that if they only took off up to 50% off the retail value on the coupon of what you were purchasing that it was hard to use coupons there. Hmm I'm thinking i might have been very wrong.....:)
Nice work to all 3 of you with your shopping trips!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about rice krispy treats with fruit loops, they are really good, but very sweet with the added sugar from the fruit loops. My husband has been deployed this summer, so I've been sending him all kinds of variations of rice krispy treats. Fruit Loops, Cocoa Pebbles, Lucky Charms, flavored Cheerios of any kind, Fruity Pebbles...they all make really yummy treats. Also if you have some peanuts to chop up to put into the Cocoa Pebbles ones, it makes them even yummier.
Jenny - $10 off $50 is before coupons at Shop 'n Save. They will give you full value for all coupons they accept. The only stipulation is, if the coupon is printed off the internet their police staes they will not accept it if its over 50% of the price of the product. Although, I've never had a problem with them accepting IP's even if they are over 50% of the products sales price.
ReplyDeleteMetro East Mom - Thanks for the tips on the treats. If Froot Loops make them really sweet my husband is sure to really like them. I wish you and your husband well through his deployment.
At what ShopNSave store do you shop? I was one of the unlucky ones who did not find the TP? :(
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!!! Look at all the toilet paper!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!
My SNS didn't print out the catalina coupons so I went to the customer service counter and they did some magic and printed them out for me. I'm not sure if I didn't quite get my numbers right or they were having a problem with the printers at my store but I had to do this twice.
ReplyDeleteThen I rolled my catalina print outs into an Entertainment book. The store manager was in the booth and said what a great deal it was. HA!
