For this weeks Kellogg's cereal deal (buy 3 get 1 free), the cereals are priced anywhere from $2.54 to $3.29 each. I came up with a scenario for Froot Loops, a family favorite. Kellogg's has put may new coupons on their web site. Between the free box, manufacturer coupons and Target coupon there could be good deals on many different varieties of cereal.
Remember when shopping at Target: You can use a manufacturer and Target issued coupon on the same product.

This week Schnucks has Kelloggs cereal on sale 5 boxes for $10, so you can take the Schnucks ad to Target and have Target price match Schnucks price for possible free cereal!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone did price matching at Hampton Target? And how is it done? Isn't it complicated? Don't want cashiers/customer service people to be "unfriendly" with me.
ReplyDeleteMs. Jeri, on your Froot Loops deal, isn't $2.66 x 3 = $7.98? (I thought my tiny calculator is playing tricks on me so I used my computer's calculator to double check. :)..)
ReplyDeletespicyhuman - Have you priced matched at Target before and how was you expierence?
ReplyDeletecoupon.girl - I tried at Hampton Village. I tried to match a 3/$5 Walgreens deal. After a conference of three or four people, they decided they couldn't match the price becuase it was not advertised as an individual product. I haven't tried again because it isn't worth my time for a few pennies when Walgeens and Schnucks is just across the street. The Target employees weren't unfriendly, just didn't know how or what they were suppose to do.
I should have used my computer's calculator too and doubled checked the Kellogg's deal. Sorry, it's been one of those weeks. I've fixed more mistakes the last few days than ever before. Thanks for catching this.
Jeri, yes, I have price matched at Target on the Rock Road (by Walgreens) and Target in St. Charles (off Mueggee/Mexico) and both stores have done an excellent job of price matching. They have done it at the registers as I am checking out, so I have not had to do it at customer service like some people have. You simply show them the ad with the items in it, they check the dates on the ad b/c it has to be a current ad and they adjust the price. I have done this several times and it has been very easy. I did it with the Chex Mix that was on sale 2/$3 two weeks ago at Walgreens, but bought it pricematched at Target and used Target coupons and manufacturer coupons and got 6 bags of FREE chex mix. I have never had a problem doing this at Target. Hope this helps anyone who is worried about doing it.
ReplyDeletespicyhuman - Thanks for the details. I need to call Target corporate to make sure the store I shop at is trained on what the policy is. I'm glad it's working so easily somewhere in town. Hopefully, my expeience is an isolated situation.
ReplyDeleteCheck coupons.com as well for $1/1 Kellogg's coupons! also www.kelloggs.com has $1/1 coupons for honey corn flakes that are included in this sale.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kurt!
ReplyDeleteI've been to the RR Target and the Town and Country Target and can't find the Honey Corn flakes. Also, the RR Target said they'd price match the Schnucks ad, but said they had to be the same size. They didn't have 12 oz boxes. Has anyone been able to successfully do this? Or at least find the Honey Corn flakes to get the better deal? Thanks. -Emily
ReplyDeleteEmily - I haven't looked for the Honey Corn Flakes, but I do know the match has to be for the same size product. Not so easy to do with the many different sizes of cereals.
ReplyDeleteI did this yesterday at Target on the Rock Road. I ended up getting 8 boxes of cereal for $2.87, which is 35 cents a box. And a great deal I think!!!
ReplyDeleteI got:
3 boxes of Frosted Flakes
2 boxes of Rice Krispies
1 box of Cocoa Krispies
2 boxes of Raisan Bran
and it broke down as:
$16.00 = 8 boxes of cereal
- $6.00 in Target Kelloggs coupons
- $3.25 in manufacturers coupons
- $4.00 for the 2 free boxes
= $2.75 plus 0.12 in tax = 2.87
I have not seen the Honey Corn Flakes though. Hope this helps everyone.
spicyhuman - Thank for sharing your shopping trip. You did get a great deal with the Schnucks price match.
ReplyDeleteThe Rock Road store sounds great. Do you think they would share their employees to train the other store?
With the Kelloggs deal can I also use 2) coupons that says Save $2 on one gallon of milk wyb two kellogg's cereals. 12oz of larger?
ReplyDeleteTisha - I have used a coupon like your Save $2 on milk wyb 2 cereals before at the grocery store. I sure think it would work at Target.
