This is my favorite sale at Dierbergs and the run it fairly often. With this sale, I pick up quite a few items at the lowest prices I've seen: Bounty Paper Towel of .50, English muffins and flour tortillas for $1, and mixed nuts for $1.49. And this week FREE napkins!
Remember:
1. Dierbergs doubles coupons .40 or less.
2. Limits 15 total coupons doubled.
3. Limits 3 identical coupons.
4. On a 10/$10 sale you get the sale price on just one item.

So now Dierbergs wont accept any coupon that has the word "free" on it? Even if its a B1G1 and isnt a printable? Sheesh, pretty soon no one will take any coupons at all :(
ReplyDeleteHi CJ - I don't know what I was thinking. Readers have let me know the B1G1 problem is with printable. I obviously wasn't thinking when I wrote that with a regular coupon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me think it through. It's been one of those weeks. :(
I had 22 coupons today at Dierbergs, but had a very nice cashier, who seemed amused at my love of coupons without being snotty. I had printed a King's Hawaiian $1 Bread a couple weeks ago. I used it on the Kings Hawaiian 10/10, but she said, it might not be the correct usuage of the coupon, but she took the coupon anyway. I am mad that I forgot to pick up my grinder, but I have a hard time finding things at the Wildwood store. I love my free napkins. FYI, Marcel 2-paper towels are 2/$5, so if you have the $2 off Coupon in your stash, you may want to check your Dierbergs to see if the price is the same! Kelly
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteI love this sale at Deirbergs and when I find a good cashier.
The last time I was at the Dierbergs I shop, they didn't have the 2-pack or Marcel paper towel. I was thinking they didn't carry it, but now I'm thinking maybe they were just out of stock. I'm going to check again.
Have your tried their paper towels before and what's your opinion?
They are okay--kind of like Brawny, very papery, not soft nor as absorbant as Viva. I used to only buy Viva, but then realized, if I have a bad spill (which we have many, in our house), then I choose to use old dish towels, not paper towels. So, for my .50, they suit me fine! Kelly
ReplyDeleteJeri - Whew, thats makes me happy then, if its only B1G1 printables, I might live! However my Dierbergs cashier today tried to tell me today that they dont take ANY printables. Then she called someone else and they decided they would take the one I had. So I dont know what their policy is anymore. But I did get 2 free napkins, McCormick Grinders for .25 each and Wheatables for .49 :) I love the Marcal paper towels, they are thick enough for me and I like the perforations so you can use a half sheet.
ReplyDeleteThere is a coupon for the Hawiaan sweet rolls in the last few weeks. It was for $1 off. I got mine free. If you still have the coupon for $1 off the playtex living gloves from Oct they also ended up being free. Wow what a great week at Dierbergs. Love the free Chinet napkins. Makes it worth buying all those extra papers.
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot if you haven't tried those Soy Joy Bars I think they are really really bad. You couldn't pay me to take them out of the store. My daughter laughed and said I wouldn't even give those to the dogs. Just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteCJ This is the second time I've heard from a reader that Dierbergs wasn't going to take internet printable coupons. I'll see what I can find out at Dierbergs today. I've got a favorite cashier whose sister uses lots of coupons and she might have some insight to what is going on.
ReplyDeleteJust recently, there has been quite a few fradulant internet coupons. Take a look at the info here - http://www.cents-off.com/body_coupon_counterfeiters.cfm. This might have an impact on retailer's coupon policies.
Lynda - Thanks for the info. This is a great week at Dierbergs.
ReplyDeleteSoy Joy bars are horrible. I bought a bunch last year and ended up sending them in my son's school lunch. He eats anything - and everything.
Jeri -
ReplyDeleteI don't make it to Dierbergs often, but on my last trip, I couldn't use the $1.50 Wheatables because it was more than half the price of the item. The cashier said they had just received a memo with that change b/c of all of the fraud. This was at the Brentwood Pointe store.
~Staci
Staci - That's the coupon I used yesterday, they allowed it. Guess it depends on who's working. Sure would be nice if stores posted their coupon policy especially when it changes all the time. I emailed Dierbergs yesterday, will let everyone know if I hear back.
ReplyDeleteFYI: Suave for Men is not included in the sale. Also, the Platex Living gloves are not the gloves on sale for $1.
ReplyDeleteI have gotten 12 pairs of the gloves free. The coupon went through without any problem. I got the disposable gloves and they rang up $1 and they took the $1 off coupon.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the info! FYI the vanilla creme brulee quaker crisps are tasty, they taste like vanilla caramel popcorn. I also bought quaker nacho cheese quakes which taste like nacho cheese styrofoam peanuts. I forgot my playtex glove coupons, doh! :)
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Dierberg's internet coupon policy. I had a problem at the store on Tesson Ferry and refused any of my internet coupons. When I got home that day I immediately emailed Dierberg's. Corporate called me a couple of days and said (and this is a direct quote from Bernadette), "Of course we take internet coupons. We will not take any coupons over $5, any free items, or anything over 50% of the cost of the item." This is only for internet coupons. Any manufacture's coupons are fine. I since have had no problems using my internet coupons. Also, to avoid any hassle, use the self check out.
ReplyDeleteThanks, em!
ReplyDeleteJenny B - I've always thought Quaker rice cakes taste like styrofoam. But now, I might have to try the vanilla creme brulee crisps. Thank for the tasting update.
Hi Allison, Thanks for passing on the "Corporate response".
ReplyDeleteI talked to my coupon friendly cahsier yesterday about the internet coupon policy. She told me the same thing with one addition - The coupon has to scan. They cannot manually enter internet coupons.
I shop the Tesson Ferry store too....when I have checked out through a cashier they had a binder to check the internet printables, but since then I started using the self checkout so much easier & less trouble :)
ReplyDeleteFor the McCormick seasoning grinders is the coupon your talking about the .75 off McCormick Spice or Herb? Just want to make sure it will go through. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, Yes, that is the coupon. I bought a pepper grinder and a salt grinder and the coupon went through.
ReplyDeleteBesides the salt & pepper grinders there is also a few girnder of spice blends also on sale for $1.
Thank you Jeri! :)
ReplyDeleteI never have good luck at the self scanners. All my coupons beep there, even the insert ones. At least with a cashier I can ask them to let the coupon through and usually can talk them into it :)
ReplyDeleteThe only Hawaiian coupon I can find in the past 2 months is for the bread, not the sweet rolls. Does anyone know which paper the sweet rolls $1 coupon was in?
Disregard my question about the Hawaiian rolls. I found coupons for it but none are for the 4 pack which is the one thats on sale for $1.
ReplyDeleteI find that with the self scanners they are always beeping...kinda defeats the use of them in a way as you constantly have to wait for the cashier to assist you. And then they go through your bags and you almost feel like a criminal. Then don't allow us to bag until we are complete with the transaction!
ReplyDeleteYou really do have to pick your cashier...some are pleasant and some make you feel like you are under a microscope.
I especially like the people waiting behind me in line..they seem bothered to wait while I save over 75% of my grocery bill! LOL on them.
This is an interesting discussion about self checkout. I agree, some stores make you feel like a criminal if you use coupons at the self checkout. Others not at all.
ReplyDeleteEverything depends on the store and the cashier you pick to checkout with.
CJ I used the Sweet Rolls at Dierbergs. My coupon didn't specify the sizw it just showed a picture of the big pakg. I ended up with 8 of them and each time the cashier checked it and said it was fine. I went to Shop n Save this morning and at the self checkout they have to put the coupons through because the cashier said they have had to many people using expired coupons.
ReplyDeleteI was at Shop n Save the other day & at the self check out the lady said people were using coupons for things it wasn't for, but was the same manufacturer so it was going through.
ReplyDeleteAt Schnucks the cashier said the main coupons that beep are ones found in their store or their catalina coupons.....she said who knows why, but that's usually why..LOL
I don't usually have alot of stuff at Dierbergs....like last night w/ the salt grinders, napkins, rice cakes..LOL
That again for this site...you save me so much $$$$ :)
You're welcome Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI love Dierbergs for "cherry picking". They have some great deals.
