Shop 'n Save Deals: 11/1/10 - 11/6/10
Update - I visited two Shop 'n Saves on Wednesday to see if they had their Catalina deal sings up. Neither did. It is still a mystery if purchasing California Pizza, Tombstone or Pop Tarts will trigger a Catalina coupon. If you purchase these items and they trigger a Catalina coupon or not, please leave a comment.
I've includes several products in my match-ups that aren't in Shop 'n Save's ads. If you find a deal that I haven't included, please leave a comment and I will add them to the list.

No coupon necessary - $10 will automatically be deducted from your total when you spend $50 before coupons.

Does anyone know if the general mills deal is stacking?
ReplyDeleteBecky, on another forum they emailed SNS and the lady emailed back and said it was stacking and gave an example to clarify.
ReplyDeleteCustomer service told me that. You can do up to 3 of the general mills in one transaction.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I got my new entertainment book today. Now I am off to make my plan. Had a great week at Walgreens with many money makers. It sure did help me get my entertainment book. I asked the manager at CVS if they would take the 10 off coupon from Wags for the entertainment book and he said no. He said they didn't get in any at that store anyway. No harm in asking.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these items! There were LOTS of printables that I missed!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the email response I got from Shop 'n Save earlier in the week about doing multiple offers in the same transaction. It is three as Anonymous said, but sometimes it is good to have it in writing.
ReplyDeleteThe General Mills promotion, buy 10 and get a $5.00 Catalina reward coupon off of your next purchase has a limit of three (3) multiples on this promotion.
For example, buy 30 participating general Mills items in a single transaction and receive three (3) $5.00 Catalina reward coupons off of your next purchase. I hope this information is helpful for you.
Hi, All! Please note. This is what it says on the Ad.
ReplyDelete"Save $5 when you buy any 10 participating General Mills products.... Savings received instantly at check-out".
I think, it's not a $5 catalina coupon good on your next shopping order on this one. :I
So has anyone found the Kellogg Holiday booklet, yet? The Keebler rep gave a booklet even before he finished the display. I found a second display at another store around Florissant, yesterday. Inside are two seperate $10 mail-in rebate forms, one covers Nov. and the other Dec. Main detail is buy 10 partipating items in one trip. Also there (20) $1 and $2 MQ, good on either snack items or other stuff for the purchase of snack items.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there is a better coupon to use with the Grands Biscuits. Think it comes from the 10/10 ads. It's $.75/3 Refrigerated Baked Goods (picture shows cookie dough, crescents, cinn. rolls and biscuits. Makes that deal even cheaper!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the Tombstone and/or California Pizza kitchen Catalinas are working at SNS?
ReplyDeleteAlso, how do I coment by my name instead of anonymous. I'm PC illiterate.
I am VERY confused on this GM $5 off thing. I've read it's OYNO and I've read it's instant at checkout. Someone who has tried it out should post something.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I couldn't find the $.75/3 you are mentioning in the 10/10 ads. Could it be a different week?
Anonymous: After you post a comment, choose "comment as: Name/URL" and type your name there.
There is a BOGO Q on kikkoman's site. http://www.kikkomanusa.com/homecooks/offers/coupons.php
ReplyDeleteThe ad says the $5 if off instantly, so at SNS does anyone know if the $50 is before or after this $5 savings or if I stack it after the $10 savings?
ReplyDeleteBecky - the $50 is before all savings/coupons. Once your total hits $50, the $10 comes off automatically. The coupons and instant savings come off after that. So, you only have to spend $50
ReplyDeleteHi All -
ReplyDeleteIf the GM Instant Savings offer is like the offers in the past. Yes, it stacks and the instant savings does not affect your $50 purhase requirement. The response from SNS customers service is very odd, since this offer is Instant Savings and not a Catalina.
Lynda - Which CVS do you shop at? It would be good to put a list together if which stores will and won't take competitors coupons.
Kas - I haven't seen the Kellogg's Holiday book yet, but will be looking for it. Thanks for the heads up.
Amanda - I don't have the .75/3 Pillsbury coupon in the 10/10 insert from the Post-Dispatch. Was that coupon in the Suburban Journal?
Anonymous - I'm going to check and see if my SNS has any of the Cat. signs up today and will look for Tombstone and Cal. pizza.
Staci - Thanks for the link to the Kikkomann B1G1.
Jeri the CVS store that I went to was the new one at Clayton and Henry. I talked to the assistant manager. I go to different ones each week depending on which ones I pass.
ReplyDelete"Save $5 on you next shopping trip when you buy $20 of these participating P&G products" --- if you guys requested from homemadesimple.com for their coupon booklet, there's a couple good coupons to use on this deal.
ReplyDeleteThere's 75cent coupon for Magic Eraser. And another coupon is for Febreze Home Collection Flameless Luminary which I looked for last night at Chippewa cor Kingshiway store and didn't even find a shelf space for it. (Bummer.) But you might get lucky at your store.
Jeri; I clip all my coupons so I'm not sure what one exactly it was in. I have several so I'm pretty sure that it came from the stl post. I do get a journal every so often but never more that one. Says 1010 on the coupon above the bar code. Expires 1/8/11 Hope someone can track it down cause it's a nice coupon! :) Sorry I can't be more of a help.
ReplyDeleteSS 10/17/10; $0.75/3 Pillsbury Refrigerated Baked Goods, exp. 1/8/11
ReplyDeleteHere's a rebate for buying $50 (before coupons) of P&G items from 8/20 to 12/31/2010. Send in your receipt(s) and get $110 in P&G coupons back in the mail. http://www.pgeverydaysolutions.com/pgeds/pgeverydaysavings/rebate-eds-or-general.jsp
ReplyDeleteAre the Del Monte Smoothies still on sale for $1? They are $1 at my Dierbergs today, but I'm holding for free at SNS instead.
ReplyDeleteAndrea I saw that you answered my question but technically that is not correct as stated. If the first of my items in the cart are the GM, once I hit my 10 items the $5 comes off my total instantly right? So I really will never get a $50 total. Anyone else have any thoughts
ReplyDeleteIt keeps track of the 50 dollar total before the 5 dollar instant off. Any time they have a general mills promo like this. I buy right at 50 dollars and it still takes the 10 dollars off. And also the 5 dollars instantly.
ReplyDeleteBecky - the $5 comes off at the end of the receipt as I stated above. The instant savings does not affect your $10 off $50 purchase. I guess "technically" none of us ever get to $50 total, since once we hit $50, the $10 comes off right away.
ReplyDeleteBut, I am sure the instant savings does not affect your $50 totals.
So spend right around $50 before any savings/coupons/instant discounts/etc.
$50 merchandise (includes 10 GM products)
-10 Thurs $10/$50 discount
-5 GM instant savings
-any other coupons you have
=OOP
It is NOT spend $55 to cover the GM instant savings. Maybe if you think of them as two completely separate deals it would help. HTH
I also called on this before reading the posts. The customer service lady stated exactly what you said that if you spend $50 inlcuding the 10 items it will take $15 off your bill plus any other coupons. I going twice and doing propain exchange on my second trip. I'm so excited I have my first trip down to less than $5 oop! That's a record for me!
ReplyDeleteThanks andrea, I have been couponing for years and just moved here from Chicago. The grocery stores here do things very differently. Just needed the clarification.
ReplyDeleteI just back from using that GM cat for a free gal. of milk. Since the milk won't count tomorrow through the $50 and usually cashiers only ring up act price, it was the only item. But, the cashier scan the cat and the machine locked up. Bite my tongue and didn't exclaim Jewel stores always give overage.
ReplyDeleteFinally found the Farmland breakfast links @$1 at one of the Florissant store. Unless you are buying 'em tomorrow, better off purchasing the 12 oz. packs at the Florissant Alps store.
Welcome to St. Louis Becky! I hope you enjoy the Shop N Save experience. Thanks to Jeri and everyone at this website, we save lots :)
ReplyDeleteHi All
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynda for the location. If we find a few CVS's who will take competitors coupons, I'll post the info.
Thanks, coupon.girl!
Thanks, Andrea for the great explanation on how instant savings works at SNS. Remember when they first started instant savings, we were all confused too of what would really happen.
Hi Chirs - Great trip planned!
Hi Becky - Welcome to St Louis. At first glace, it dosen't look like St Louis has very good grocrey deals, but once you figure it out. We do ok.
I've saved a ton at SNS. I used to feel like if I could spend less than $10 or a $50 trip I was doing well. Now, I try to get my transactions to $5 or less.
Hi kas - It's hard to believe any SNS still has Farmland breakfast links in stock. There must not be many Coupon STL readers in North County.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful welcome! I have learned alot and am putting my couponing experience into overdrive. I was used to Jewel, which is a Super-Value store, and if your familar with them at all, well let me say $5 was a big OOP(overage was usual and common). The change is welcomed and with some searching I found this site which has been awesome and helped me so much. The forum is great. My past experience has given he a head start and good base but with every grocery store being different, it is a whole new world. Thanks for all the info everyone. I'm sure my questions will keep coming.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure many readers know this, but I noticed you don't mention it at the top of your Shop N Save post, so I thought I'd bring it up. I use two entertainment book coupons when I go to Shop N Save. The coupons are for $5 off your purchase or gift card purchase. So when I first get there I buy a gift card at Customer Service for $45. I then use that gift card for however many shopping trips...and use another coupon for each $50 trip.
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel - Thanks for the reminder. I probably should write a post with all the ins and outs of shopping at SNS and link to it at the top of each post. I'll put that on my to do list.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from my first trip...the CPK cat is working. I only bought two and got $1 cat back to use on trip #2 :)
ReplyDelete"CPK cat" = California Pizza Kitchen catalina
ReplyDeleteJust got back from three rounds (with three little girls in tow before school!) I need a nap - or something stronger! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe California Pizza Kitchen cat was working for me (bought 4 and got $3 onyo cat.) Buy 3 kellogs and get free milk cat did not print. I will be calling cat about it.
I bought two of the Oscar Meyer but did not get the survey offer for the $5.
The pillsbury cat for buy 6 get $3 onyo is for any refrigerated baked good - not just holiday things. It printed when I bought 6 grands. (the cat is also $1 wyb 3, $2 wyb 4). The Twin Oaks had $0.75/3 qs right by the biscuits.
There was a problem with buying the 6 mega rolls of the extra soft charmin at Twin Oaks. They said it did not qualify. The 6 mega extra strong was fine, though. (I just think they didn't have it labeled correctly.)
Hope that helps (and was semi-coherant.) Happy shopping everyone!
Denise and Kelly - are you purchasing the bigger ones to get the cat? Just wondering if the "for One" pizzas work too....
ReplyDeleteSeattle's Best coffee is $6.57 (reg. price). Buy 1 12 oz. bag, get $1.50 Q OYNO (10/31-11/27). Pair that with a $1.50 MQ and that makes for a good deal on coffee.
ReplyDelete$6.57 x 80% = $5.26
$5.26- $1.50MQ - $1.50 OYNO = $2.06
Only $1.60 if you also use an Entertainment Book Q!
Now, if only I hadn't used both of my Q's on the last $10/50 day. SIGH!
Oh, and BTW, Seattle's Best is reportedly the same coffee as Starbuck's. If you look at the address on both bags, they are one and the same!
Thanks, Denise and Staci!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly - Thanks for the great update. I can hardly believe you can still think and type after three trips and three girls this morning.
Has anyone found at their store the
ReplyDeletea) Febreze Home Collection Flameless Luminary and b) 88 use Bounce dryer bar
for the "Save $5 on you next shopping trip when you buy $20 of the participating P&G products"? Please let me know where. I want to try the Magic Erasers if I can make my list work. TIA.
I have finally arrived:) After a year of couponing, I finally got an Entertainment book and broke that magic $5 barrier...$4.54oop and saved $65 and on stuff we actually use...and with a 17mo and 2mo old in tow. Let's just say I'm beaming.
ReplyDeleteHad a great morning. coupon.girl I couldn't find the Febreze Flamess Luminary. I had no problems on any of my scenarios. There is a 55 cent coupon off cremeattes quick cook and they are on sale for 1.00. Great price but I am trying to find which week I clipped it. If I find it I will post.
ReplyDeleteI received the details of the Pilsbury catalina with my receipt at Shop n Save today.

Lynda - Thanks for confirming that the Quick Cook Creamettes are included in the sale! I dont remember which week the coupon was but it was within the last month.
ReplyDeleteI found the 55c off Quick Cook Creamette coupon in the 10-3 SS. Thank you, Jeri and all the commenters, for providing all this fabulous information!
ReplyDeleteWent I went to Schnucks this morning I ended up getting free cinnamon rolls and crescents with the cat. I bought 5 and got the 2.00 catalina. With double coupons they ended up being free. Guess I will go and get some more. CJ I still can't find the coupon again. I am going back to Shop n Save again but really need to pick a few more up.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't on my best game today, but I had to break down and buy a few things without coupons. I needed coffee, so I bought the Seattle's Best, too! Lots of rebates and tags, though. Look for one on Absolute Vodka bottles--$5 rebate when you buy fruit/mixer, no alcohol purchase required in Missouri. Also look for Sutter Home wine bottles, $1 coupon off Turkey ($5 purchase min.) Also, wine in produce near bakery often has $2 off beef rebates (Ellisville store). Good Luck! P.S. Use your Renuizt free coupons at Shop N Save--worked for me!
ReplyDeleteHealthy Balance Juice is 2/$4 - there was a B1G1 in an ALL You issue. Also, there is a $1/1 in the Kelloggs/Keebler "Ultimate Holiday Guide" booklet found on display in store.
ReplyDeleteHi All - Sounds like everyone has had great trips to SNS. I've yet to get there. Thanks for all the great info. I'll put together posts for the Cats working at SNS and Schnucks.
ReplyDeleteMelissa - You should be beaming. Navigating the grocery store with 2 under 2 is quite the feat in itself.
Tombstone pizza cat works at sns. Buy 6 get $4 cat. Hth!
ReplyDeleteFYI - At my store today, I got $5 off immediate for the GM deal and then a $5 Cat coupon for the P&G one. Also, the P&G didn't print out for me but customer service fixed it for me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if anyone has expired $5 off $50 coupons, the SNS at hwy 70 in OFallon MO is still accepting them for a couple more days.
Did you have to have $20 before coupons like the ad said to get the P & G cat coupon? TIA
ReplyDeleteAnd some of you "I get it under $5 OOP" ladies need to post your tips! I just really don't see how you do it that well!
ReplyDeleteI *was* happy that I spent $29, though would love "under $5" even more!! ;)
Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI did spend the $20 before coupons. Maybe the cat machine didn't like my coupons?? I don't know. But customer service didn't blink an eye and printed one out for me. Also, the lady in line in front of me at c/s had the same problem so make sure yours prints! ;)
Something that I learned from my cashier today was that my store allows any peelies that are ON the product at checkout AND any other coupons I have as well. Almost like an in-store coupon!!
ReplyDeleteLaurie I'm with you I love to see a 60 to 70% savings with paying anything under $30 & that's using my free coupons I get in the mail! I would love to know how to get to $5 after coupons :)
ReplyDeleteMy P & G didn't print, but CS gave me $5 back :)
ReplyDeleteI went 3 times today. 2 trips were couponless because I was crunched for time and haven't shopped for holiday food baskets for church. I wanted to take advantage of the instant deals and be done with it. The first order was 20 Progresso Soups, 6 Pilsbury Grands, 6 Pilsbury cookies (they had $1.50/3 peelies) and one ramen noodle ( 17 cents) to bring my
ReplyDeletetotal to $50.07
I used 2 $1.50 Coupons and 3 GM instants and $10 instant off $50.
Before tax and coupon deduction, my total was $50.07 I paid $22.07 plus tax.
The second one I bought 30 cans of the niblets corn and 33 cans of Libbys veggies. The Libby's was on sale for 67 cents each the niblets on sale for 98 cents. I miscalculated in my head and didn't need 2 of the Libbys to make it to $50 but that is ok. I used no coupons. My total before tax was $51.51 and after the instant $10 off $50 and 3 sets of GM deduction of $15, my total before tax was $26.51 plus tax.
my third transaction was something like $56 before tax and $2.08 after my coupons were taken off and tax was added on. I can list all the coupons, etc I used tomorrow, tonight I am very tired and need to rest my eyes!
=)
I purchased four $50 GCs last week using the last of my 2010 5/50 Qs from the book. Can I now go and use another new 5/50 and pay with the GCs? Is this double dipping?
ReplyDelete- Lisa R
Hi All - It sounds like several people had trouble with the P&G Cat printing. It's not unusual with the large Cat deals, that the coupon doesn't print. With all the products and UPC numbers to enter into the coumputer, something gets missed. I've never had a problem with Customer Service fixing the problem.
ReplyDeletePsycho Sarah - I don't think a cashier is suppose to take a peelie and a manf. coupon on the same product, since they are both manf. coupons. I'm not sure your cashier understands how coupons work.
Most of the time, If I have a better coupon than the peelie, I remove the peelie before I check out so I can use my higher value coupon.
But, if I had a cashier that wanted to scan both of them I'm not sure I would stop them.
Hi Lisa R - Yes, you can use a $5 off $50 coupon on your purchase and pay with a Gift Card. There is no restrictions against doing this.
ReplyDeleteI love to see others scenarios and it REALLY HELPED me when I was newbie. Here is what I did yesterday. I used a GC purchased w/ the $5off coupons. I did not use another $5/50 on the individual transactions.

I made out pretty well. I'm not a pro, yet- but I was able to pick up $134.55 worth of groceries for only $55.52. That's a savings of 60%. I only do my grocery shopping every other week (I aim for the $10 off weeks at SNS) since I have two little ones and another on the way. It works best for my budget. I paired the General Mills deal with my coupons, used the $10 instant coupon, and had a few dollars off catalinas from previous weeks that were set to expire yesterday anyway. I picked up 15 boxes of cereal, 4 boxes of nutrigrain bars, 10 frozen veggies, 4 packs ready to bake cookies, 3 boxes poptarts, 2 nature valley granola bars, 2 nature valley nut clusters, 2 large buddig meats, cans of baked beans, sour cream, ricotta cheese and parmesan cheese. I already purchased ground beef and chicken at Sam's club since I menu plan and try to cook for a week or two at a time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea for taking the time to type of your list. It is fun to look at and I'm sure very good for the new coupon shoppers to see.
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous - Great Job! Thanks for sharing.
Did anyone get multiples of the $5/10 items for the GM deal? I asked at customer service (Fenton) before starting my trip and was told only ONE would work (i.e. 10 items) per transaction - that it had worked that way on registers earlier in the morning. Just curious - trying to figure out how these things "work".
ReplyDeleteFor me it wasn't such a great shopping trip. I had hoped to load up on some good frozen vegetable deals for the deep freeze - but the only ones without salt (which is what we eat) were 3 measly bags of broccoli!! So I spent over an hour trying to figure out what I needed/deals, etc. I felt pretty good at the end - got $57 (including 2 gallons milk since it doesn't count for the $50 min.) and paid $17 oop. Since part of my order was produce and baking supplies for which there were no coupons I felt OK.
Thanks for any insight on that GM $5/10 items deal!
Debra
Debra, I also shop at the Fenton store and I purchased 30 General Mills products and DID receive $15 off (it says on my receipt General Mills 3 @ $5 off). I went late last night and you're right, the veggies were really picked over. I accidentally picked up a bag of the rice and veggies not realizing it has wheat. My husband has celiac's so he can't have wheat. I was able to trade these two bags with a friend so I still made out ok on it!
ReplyDeleteHi Debra - The GM deals stacked for me also. I hate to say it, but you will probably get better info here than you will get from the customer service desk at SNS. I don't think SNS informs their employees very well when it come to these deals.
ReplyDeleteOne really good thing about SNS is they are consistant about how things work. Since they have started the "instant savings" deals, they have always stacked. I'm not saying that will never change, but I think we can assume the instant savings will stack for the time being.
Hi Anonymous - Thanks for getting back to Debra about your expierence at the Fenton store.
Kelly - I found the Absolut Vodka $5 wine tag rebate but I'm not familiar with how those types of rebates usually work. It says "receipt" but can I send in more than one receipt to make my $5 total? Also it asks for UPCs but most fruit doesnt have a UPC. So do you just not fill in the UPC info? Also, do you think cranberry juice counts as a mixer? There's no phone number on it so I cant call to ask. I'm going to try to use receipts for fruit I've already bought so if they deny the rebate I wont be out any extra money.
ReplyDeleteJeri--a couple weeks ago the instant savings did NOT stack....
ReplyDeleteFruit actually does have a universal UPC, i.e. Bananas are 4011. There is pribably a small sticker on it somewhere. Or you could ask customer service for the code for that fruit. They could do that over the phone. You would need to tell them the specific fruit. (red seedless grapes, not just grapes). Hope that helps
ReplyDeleteHi couponmama - I know better than to make that "always statement." I don't remember which deal didn't stack, can you help me out?
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to the beer or wine rebates I emailed one of the companies because it asked for a UPC, but you had to buy meat & they said they wanted the UPC from the wine or beer not the meat so hopefully this is the same type of thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeri and Anonymous for the info about stacking the GM deal! In hindsight, I am wondering if the CS clerk was confusing it with the P&G deal that is also going on this week? In the future I'll trust this site and not the customer service person.
ReplyDeleteSince the veggies were what I was hoping to stock up on (and they were a crummy selection anyway) I don't feel bad about not getting 30 items.
I REALLY appreciate all that I am learning from this forum!!!
Debra
Hi Jeri. I screwed up, it wasn't an instant savings deal that did not stack, it was the week where GM had 2 $5 cats with a certain amount of purchase. That one did not stack. My oops.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Debra
ReplyDeleteHi couponmama - I'm glad it was you and not me. I was afraid my early onset Alzheimers was acting up again. :)
Thanks to those with info about the wine tag rebate. I think I'll use my receipts from Del Monte Fruit Naturals fruit cups and Minute Maid cranberry juice and see if it works. I did email the CMS rebate center but havent heard back yet.
