For those not familiar with beer rebates, you periodically will find a rebate offer with a beer display. In Missouri no beer purchase is ever required; it must has something to do with state law. The qualifying products are things you probably buy anyway. I've seen them for meat, cheese, salty snack, produce, soda and many more everyday items.
When I find a rebate form, I look back through my saved receipt, find the qualifying products within the purchase dates, fill out and mail the form, and wait for my FREE money.
I found this rebate at a Schnucks, but you might find it at any retailer that sells beer. If you don't find this rebate form this week, keep looking. It is fairly common that the forms appear very close to the end of the offer period.
The $15 Heineken rebate that Kelly posted about last week says that you have to include UPCs. I have never seen a UPC on produce. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice that..but I did read that you have to buy everything in one day. I may pass on doing it. But, Express Salad blends have UPC's, sometimes Iceberg lettuce, pre-packaged deli items, cheeses, etc. Kelly
ReplyDeleteThat stinks that you have to buy it all on the same shopping trip. I missed that part. I was hoping to collect my receipts from buying bananas, sweet potatoes, peppers, etc. I think I might pass, too. Darn!
ReplyDeleteI too noticed the request for UPC....I don't have UPCs on my bananas! I threw it away..what a disappointment....didn't notice the one day requirement! OOOPS
ReplyDeleteBagged items (like oranges, potatoes, etc.) tend to have UPCs.
ReplyDeleteFor the Heinekin rebate - I sent the UPCs for the products that had them and included a note that the other items didn't have UPC codes. Hopefully, I will get the rebate - if not I'm only out a stamp and a little time!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the info on UPC requirement was brought up by 'T' and others. I took time to read another Heinken form that is for NBPR states and also states like KS. For MO residents, one can either buy $25 in fresh deli products for a $20 rebate or $15 in fresh deli products for a $10.
ReplyDeleteNow the fine print, which I usually read for info on the address, does mention including UPC for the purchased item. Deli products is defined as fresh meat and fresh produce. In the past, I often purchased cheese from a deli and never had a problem receivng a rebate.
Since necessary items must be purchased by the 28th and postmarked by 3/15/10, than I better be getting it done.
Thanks everyone for the info on the Hieneken Rebate. I don't know if remember a beer rebate with so many "rules". They are usualy so unrestrictive.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't buy too many items at the deli, but I had debated weather to because of this rebate. I'm glad I dont' now.
I am a little confused. The Hieneken Rebate form said $10 rebate with over $15 fresh deli purchase. Send in receipt(s). That means you can send in more than 1 receipt. Deli meat from the counter has a label that prints out after the meat is weighed. It has a barcode on it. Wouldn't that be counted as the UPC? I bought $15 of deli meat for this rebate. We will see.
ReplyDeleteI read on another blog that "Fresh Deli" is actually the brand name of a product and that is what needs to be bought for the rebate. If thats the case, such products probably do have UPCs on the containers. Is there a toll free phone number on the Heineken form that can be called?
ReplyDeleteHi CJ - I did a quick search for "Fresh Deli" and I don't think it is a brand name of a product. And no phone number on the rebate form.
ReplyDeleteJeri - The blogger I mentioned updated her post last week. Someone got ahold of Heineken and they stated any deli meat is good for the rebate. Not sure why UPCs need to be sent it for items that typically dont have them.
ReplyDeleteHi CJ - Thanks for the follow up info.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if the UPC's are for the beer purchase that is required in some states and not for the deli and/or produce items.
ReplyDeleteWhile looking for this form at Schnucks, I also found a $3 coupon off of corned beef (no brand specified) attached to the top of some of the Bailey's bottles (no liquor purchase needed). It looked like someone cut a slit in the coupon to put on the bottle so you may find these as a tear pad. Yeah - perfect timing for upcoming corned beef sales!
ReplyDeleteHi Kara - I hadn't though of the UPC's being for the beer. You might be on to something there.
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen - Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to keep my eyes open for that coupon!
