Saved 85% This Week

I've been in the shopping doldrums lately, but made up for it this week. The only things I needed to buy were rice, wax paper, milk, coffee and, of course, creamer. Everything else is what I could buy for a great price.

CVS
As I grow my ECB's, I'm loving CVS even more that before. It is so fun to shop for free, not worry about fillers, and have cashiers who gladly reduce your ECB down the total due.

Before sales & coupons: $52.77
Spent: $0.00
Saved: $52.77 for 100%

Walgreens
I'm lucky to have a coupon friendly Walgreens to shop at. I have no problem using a B1G1 coupon on a B1G1 sale.

Before sales & coupons: $8.78
Spent: $0.00
Saved: $8.78 for 100%

Target
I started with a $5 giftcard I had earned a few weeks ago. Split my purchase into two transactions. First, I purchased the razors for less than $5 and earned another $5 giftcard. Second transaction, I used the new giftcard and what was left of the one I already had.

Before sales & coupons: $39.33
Spent: $1.16
Saved: $38.17 for 97%

Shop 'n Save
I hadn't shopped at Shop 'n Save for over a month. I had almost forgotten how fun it is to spend less than $10 on a $10 off $50 Thursday. I also used a $5 off $50 coupon from the Entertainment book, and I had coupons for free Palermo's Pizza, Oreo Cakesters and Kashi Cereal. It has become a game for me. Unless I can spend less than $10, I don't shop there.

Before sales & coupons: $69.85
Spent: $5.41
Saved: $64.44 for 92%

Schnucks
I hadn't spent much of my budget this week, so I stocked up on meat at Schnucks. They had some great meat prices this week.

Before sales & coupons: $44.02
Spent: $21.01
Saved: $23.01 for 52%

Aldi
Comparable Schnucks price: $12.18
Spent: $6.67
Saved: $5.51 for 45%

Weekly Totals
Before sales & coupons: $226.93
Spent: $34.25
Saved: $192.68 for 85%

Year To Date Totals
Spent: $806.25
($42 weekly average)
Saved: $2,622.27 ($138 weekly average)

Splurge Funds: $135.15

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.

  3. Hi Lynda - I'm saving for a freezer

Hi Anonymous - I shop at several Wags and have good luck at all of them. Kingshighway/Arsenal, Southwest, Lafeyette Square and Gravois/Grand. I stop at which ever one is the most convenient that day.

You aren't the only one that has trouble at the Hampton Village store. And I've not heard much better at the one across from the new CVS.

i will try the Kingshighway/Arsenal store and see what they say.
do you ever take in the Wags coupon policy with you for BOGO's? i'd love to get my hands on one to print off and keep with me.

  5. I didn't shop this week. Only milk and free Soft Scrub. Now I wish I had shopped on Thursday, too. Kelly

  6. Anonymous - Try emailing Walgreens. Don't put in a specific store and ask the questions you want answered. Hopefully, you'll get a response. Since they don't have published coupon policy, an email with your name on it is the most effect tool. Good luck.

  7. Hi Kelly - Sometimes you just need to take a week off. I can't say there was anything I had to have from SNS, but I had those coupons for a free product that had to be used by the end of the month.

  8. By the time I came up with a few Schick $5 MQ, too many Wags were OOS. I was looping a few $10 RR and wanted more RR from buying the razor. Used up all my DC Reese $.55 MQ and found no Cheetos Zingers at SnS. Did anyone noticed there is a $1 MQ on Capri Sun Sunshine and SnS had the 10# on sale for $2 last week.

I can't say for certain; but it looks like free KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce at Schnucks this upcoming week. The Carbondale ad is showing the 17-18 oz. bottles priced at a buck each. The Capri Sun Sunshine is also $2 in the ad.

  11. Jeri, Are you saying you can combine the Thursday $10 off $50 deal, with a $5 off/$50 from the coupon book for $15 off $50 on those select Thursdays?? That's great! Also, is the supposed $50 you are supposed to meet for these sales before or after MFQ??

  12. Hi Julie - Yes! Use your $5 off 50 coupon from the Entertainment book on a $10 off $50 Thursday. The $50 requirement is before manufacturer and store coupons.
