Might want to grab a copy of the RFT and read the main story, which is about rating chickens from local grocers. I believe one could raise a yardbird cheaper than the Whole Food cost. Problem is the well-off will tolerate a flock of wild turkey (today P-D), while the city of Huntleigh probably have an ordinance against fowls. Those who researched the RFT article did find their first chicken from a Schnuck store was spoiled.
ReplyDeleteHi kas - I just read the article on RFT's website. Great article.
ReplyDeleteThe Dierbergs cooking school I attended a last week, featured Just Bare Chicken. The chicken tasted like what I remember as a kid, and not like guy from the article. Chicken from my childhood was great, but I grew up in Iowa before the big corporate farms. Just Bare Chicken is a little pricy, but not Whold Foods prices.
