You can save a ton of money at Walgreens rolling your Register Rewards on Walgreens Black Friday sales.  Here is a scenario, when you have no Register Rewards to start with.

Tips of Shopping Walgreens Black Friday sales:
  • Walgreens is open on Thanksgiving
  • Have a plan
  • Take your plan, paper, pencil and calculator to Walgreens with you.
  • Gather all of the  merchandise you are going to purchase.
  • Pay for only a couple of transactions at a time.
  • Make sure all your Register Rewards print before the cashier starts the next transaction.

  1. Just got back from my nightmare at walgreens. After my 4th trip thru I had a cashier look at me and say, “your done.” I replied, “excuse me?” She said, “your not allowd to buy antything else, your done for the day.” Needless to say, we argued and I called corporate right there in the store. Then she refused to give me her name. I had to get it from the manager who basically stood there and let a cashier totally roll over him. The lady from corporate told me all she could do was file a complaint, but could not forse them to serve me. I’m now home waiting for the walgreens at the other end of Wentzville to open at 9. Is it really bad of me to think she should be fired. I know that if I treated a customer that way at my job that I would be. Stay away from the Walgreens on the corner of Wentzville Parkway and Piers if you want to save yourself some aggervation. Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Hi Chris - If you weren't talking about Walgreens I would say your story is unbelievable, but it's too bad these types of stories are all to0 common at Walgreens. Don't the managers realise they are not only in competition with other retailers, but other stores within their own chain.

If I were you I would not only contact Walgreens Corp. and file a complaint but ask for the phone number of the region office for that location. You might get to talk to a real live manager in that case.

  3. Chris - I'm sorry your trip didnt go well. Shopping should always be fun and I know its disappointing when it isnt.

Jeri - Your scenarios are amazing! I wish I was that good at rolling my RRs but I just dont have the patience and brain power to do separate transactions. I admire anyone who does!

  4. I went to Walgreens at midnight, left at 3 a.m. Had a great time getting some good deals! I spent $23.89 (including tax) and still have $6 RR left. I got 17 tubes of toothpaste, 7 olay body washes, 20ish pencils, 4 4-packs of the soliel razors, 2 herbal essences, 3 TUF paper towels, 3 12-pk Charmin tp, 2 Arm & Hammer detergents, 2 3pks of Scotch tape, 2 2L sodas, 2 Secret sprays, 4 packs of the hair elastics, 4 of the GUM flossers, 2 Right Guard deodorants, 2 toothbrushes, 3 Covergirl mascaras, 2 50ct ibuprofen, 3 Thermacare, 3 4pk Advil PM, and 6 of the single serve size of the dove chocolate bars. If I would have paid full price for everything, it would have been $300!!!! I spent a lot of time figuring up the deals and rounding up coupons, but it was worth that enormous savings! I did 19 transactions in total. And the only reason the whole thing went off without a hitch is because I had an AWESOME asst. mgr. checking me out back in photo. He was having just as much fun as my friend and I who were buying stuff, and he even helped me figure out the best way to use the RRs in some unexpected situations. It was definitely worth going out late at night. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do a fraction of the deals. The day checkout people would just throw me out after about 5 transactions! But I had so much fun getting the great buys that I almost wish it were last night again--it was so exciting that it felt like Christmas morning!

  6. I went to 5 Walgreen's and did 2 transactions at each store. Started with $28RR's,spent $1.88 + tax,and have $84.25RR's left. I wouldn't have done so well without the coupons my daughter let me use since she didn't go.

  8. I didn't clip any coupons and I just rolled my RR (ex used Colgate RR to buy Crest). I also like to stop when i hit a years supply of something. So I only got 4 tubs of toothpaste because I have 6 at home, etc. Plus my husband really wanted to do the candle deal (buy 1 at 8.99 get 2 free) so I ended up spending 22.77 for 94 worth of stuff. I think that's pretty good.

  10. Brittany - The Effingham Wags sounds a lot more friendly than most of the stores here! Thanks for sharing your great trip.
