  1. Hi All - I was hoping to have this posted earlier in the day, but not only is this a big ad - I kept getting distracted wanting to plan my shopping trips.

    Have fun wit this one!

  2. Wow! Do you think shopping before Thursday is a good idea for the Kraft items? Just wondering if items will be out of stock? Thought you might have an opinion on this. Thank you so much for all you do!!!

    1. Hi Ali - Maybe. It all depends on the store if they will have Kraft products in stock on Thursday. But, this ad is a two week ad. If your store is out of the Kraft products on the 30th, you still have over a week for them to restock.

I might buy one round before Thursday, see how stock is on Thursday for more, and probably buy more before the 8th. The shredded cheese is stock up price for me even without a coupon.

      Delete
    2. I plan to do my last Kraft order on the 6th or later, so I would have an extra Thursday to spend it in case there would be a $10/$50 that soon again.

      Delete
  3. Okay just to make sure I get this right because I'm still new to all this stuff.
In order to get the 10 off 50 if I use the Kraft deal I would have to spend 55 because the 5 comes off before the 10. Am I correct?
Then if I add the GM deal I would have to spend 60 total to get 10 off 50, right?
It sounds right to me, but I rather ask first.
    Thank you!

  4. WOW Jeri!!! your list is amazing!!! I was in shop n save this morning and noticed

classico pasta sauce $2.18 receive $1 cat and found a $1/3 printable online
cottonelle double 12 pk $8.68 and a $1 peelie on the package
arm and hammer laundry 16 count packs on clearance $3.55 and $0.75/2 SS 7/15
all laundry detergenet 24ct packs clearance $3.65 and 48ct pack $4.98 and $1/1 RP 7/29
moms best cereal was 2/$4 but I am having trouble with that IP coupon :(

Also I found a tearpad coupon for neutrogena face cleanser for $1/1. It was priced starting at $6.77 at shop n save but it has a nice exp date of 12/31/2012 so worth looking for in my opinion to hold onto.

  5. If I buy 20 of the Kraft items, then will I get $10 off in instant savings? I know I will still only get a $10 cat (vs $20) but I wasn't sure if the instant savings would double. Also, just to be sure, the Ritz, Triscuits, and Capri Sun qualify for the instant savings but not the Kraft cat deal, right?

    ReplyDelete
  6. CB-No, the Kraft deal doesn't stack, so you would only get $5 off.
Yes, you are correct, those items are in the instant deal, but not the catalina.

One thing I don't think I saw on Jeri's list is the Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh meat. They are on sale for $3, there was a $1/1 coupon on coupon network and I think they are part of the Kraft catalina (I am right on this?) They aren't in the ad as part of the instant off, so I am putting them in my order with my crackers and Parmesan to make sure I have 10 items from each category.

    7. I don't know the price for the Mio, but my best guess would be around $3.48. That's pretty typical for these if they're not on sale. With the $1/1 coupon and the $10 cat deal that makes them $1.48 each. With 20% (or 30% if you have Entertainment book coupons) off on Thursday, they would be .78c each or 44c w/ 30%. It's JenBahr, just hubby's logged in. :)

  22. Can someone explain the math on this:

    Crystal Light (makes 10 - 12 qt) - $2.50
Get $10 Catalina Coupon at checkout when you buy (10) participating Kraft products
Buy (2) get $1.00 Catalina coupon good on your next shopping order
    Buy (3) get $2.00 coupon
Buy (4) or more get $3.00 coupon
= $0.25 each wyb 4 after Instant Savings and Double Dip Catalina

    Let's say I bought 10 of them at $2.50 = $25
    - $5 instant savings
    =$20 OOP and get a $10 and $3 cat

That is like paying $7 for 10 of them or .70 each. What am I missing?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi CJ - Here is my couponing math

      Buy (4) Crystal Light @ $2.50 = $10.00
And by (6) other Kraft Products included in the Instant Savings & Catalina

Deduct $4.00 for Crystal Light portion of Cat
Deduct $2.00 for Crystal Light portion of Instant Savings
Get $3.00 Catalina for purchasing Crystal Light

= $1.00 for the purchase of (4) Crystal Light or $0.25 each

    2. Hi CB,

Add in Thursday discount also. I will be doing the CL in sets of 4 + 6 other $2 items.

      -$2 CL coupons
      -$3 Kraft Dressing coupons
      -$5 Instant
      -$10 current Kraft Cat
      =$2
Get back the $10 Kraft and the $3 CL Cat

Not including any Thursday discounts. =)

    1. When you buy 30 Powerade you will get $15 in Instant Saving.

This means you will need to purchase $65 of products to get the $10 off $50 discount, since Instant Savings is deducted before the $10/$50 discount is calculated.

      Try this

      Purchase 30 Powerades
Make your total purchase amount $65
      Instant Savings wyb (30) Powerades - $15.00
      = $50.00
      $10/$50 Discount
      = $40.00
      Then use your (2) B10G5 Coupon - $10.00
      = $30.00

  49. Hi All - I love to hear from the midnight shoppers.

Not surprisingly there are going to be a few problems with the $10 Cat coupon. This morning I posted about what to do if your Catalina Coupon doesn't print, or print correctly.

    Everyone have fun today!

    1. I having been doing this for a couple of years now and I have to say going at midnight last night was the smoothest
time I have ever had. Anything that didn't print the cashier helped me figure out why and was easily corrected. And that was only a couple of transactions out of 10. The High Ridge store was stocked well and all the staff was super friendly and helpful. Even told me if they were out of anything I wanted they would check in back because they just got a truck in. Crazy fun when everything works as planned. This sight was so helpful in making sure it worked smooth. I read every post and made sure I was following all the size guidelines. Thanks to everybody for testing and sharing information. FYI my friend and I both went and when we bought 6 yoplait yogurts we got and additional 2.00 cat. Nice suprise! Makes for an even sweeter deal on yogurt. Not sure on all the details of that. I also bought 4 nature granola bars the chewy kind and twice got an 2.00 cat also. Crystal light tripple dip worked for me every time as long as I bought 5 to 6 packets canisters. Be on the lookout for 2.00 and 3.00 Digorno Beer Rebates for 2 Pizzas. Also there is a nice tearpad coupon to go with it if you buy 2 Digorno Pizza you get free Eddy's Ice Cream. I haven't done totals yet but I think I did 10 transaction of groceries with some having 3 to 4 instant saving under 100 bucks. Very addictive going back for a couple more today. Happy shopping!

I have a friend who shops the High Ridge store and he really likes it also. =)

I Cannot wait to hear your trip totals!!!!!

      Again, Way To Go =)

    3. Okay a little off on my totals. Only got about 1 hour of sleep last night. It was $130 and still have 5.00 in cats to spend. Still walking on air at the amount of groceries I got.

    4. Janet,
Thank you so much for posting this information. I had this issue 3 times tonight. When I asked customer service for help they told me that because there is a $5 instant offer, I was only eligible for an additional $5 Cat instead of $10. I too had issues with the box tops printing correctly. I only got 10 bonus box tops instead of 25. Do you know I would get that fixed?
      Thanks again!

    5. Hi Jennifer - I would call Catalina Marketing on the Box Tops problem. Catalina Marketing (877) 210-1917, option 1.

I would think they should be able to help you since it was suppose to print from their machine.

  50. I got a $2 Catalina from Yoplait. Not sure what triggered it, but I bought 2 kid's yogurts and 3 of the Yoplait with granola.

    1. I bought 4 of the Kids 25% less sugar and did NOT get the extra cat.

    2. I bought 4 of the Yoplait greek with granola and 4 of the Yoplait light with granola and also got the $2 catalina. It sounds like it is probably the Yoplait light with granola.

  52. Well I was a little off on my totals only got an hour sleep last night. It was 130 for 10 transaction and have 5.00 in cats. Still walking on air at the amount of grocereis I got for that.

I haved rolled all my cats this week and had no problem!

There is definately something going on with the yoplait. That is now 3 people that have confirmed gettting an additional cat for it.

  53. Well that is it. I put a chicken in the crock pot and I am heading out.

    See you guys later =)

  54. I got the yoplait too. Nice surprise. I wish I knew what triggered it b/c I was buying a lot of yogurt. I bought 4 lt. w/ granola, 4 kids, 2 trix and 2 greek. Last year there was one with trix I remember and I stocked up.
I also found extra lean ground beef marked down to $1.88 a pound b/c today is the sell date. I couldn't believe it b/c ground beef has been so expensive lately that it's become kind of a delicacy around here.

  55. Awesome trip to SNS last night. After all discounts I'll have paid $12 for $75 worth of groceries! $5 EB coupon, $10 SNS discount, $13 from the Kraft, GM and Dew instant savings, $10 Kraft catalina, $10 Advil rebate and $15 in coupons. I didnt stock up on my usual cat food and litter so that made my OOP so much lower. The guy in front of me didnt know it was $10 day. I joked that it wasnt fair that I planned my trip for 2 weeks, while he didnt do any work at all and still got the $10 off. But for me the planning is half of the fun :)

If you do rebates, there's a great deal on Advil PM. Buy 3 16ct boxes for $4.27 each, use the $1 coupon and $10 Pfizer rebate from last Sunday's inserts to get them for less than $2 total. If you can scrounge up 2 more $1 coupons, all 3 are free.

  57. Got my Kraft cat fixed this AM. And they also gave me a nice pile of boxtop codes (mine didn't print last night)...Yay for my kid's school! My Kraft cat printed correctly this AM..so must've been the computer. My store was as well-stocked as I've seen it. I even scored several Touch of Philly shreds at 9:30. I thought those would be long gone. I'm taking s rest and will be back later today. My midnight shopping made me tired. So far I'm at $30 oop for $130 in groceries (pretty good since I didn't start with a cat or rebate card...and I have $20 in cats still to spend. Happy shopping! Eve

  59. Is anyone having issues with the I tunes cat? The cs desk said it had to be $30 after coupons, it hasn't printed twice for me first time they print it because it was from my midnight run, this time she wouldn't.....a lady who heard the discussion told me in the parking lot that she used coupons and her's printed.....anyone?

And can I call catalina about that one or only $ off your next purchase?

    1. Where did you shop at, Anon? I will also be doing the iTunes GC deal tonight. Hope my Cat prints because I will also be using coupons. It was probably the Catalina machine. Most times, even if the green light is on, the machines are still NOT working. At the Chippewa cor Kingshiway store, half of their Cat. machines are NOT working. :(

    2. I went earlier this week and my checker didn't have the paper roll attached, so of course nothing printed. It's annoying and she was a "Coupon gestapo" on top of it... scrutinizing every coupon I had. Personally I think she hates couponers & didn't hook the paper in the Catalina machine on purpose! Oh well, the guy at customer took care of it for me and when i told him about the deals on Kraft he got so excited we had a 10 minute conversation about couponing:)

  61. I googled the Yoplait catalina deal and it looks like it is a buy $10, get a $2 catalina. Here is the info I found here:
    http://www.sistersshoppingonashoestring.com/yoplait-catalina-deal-at-giant-eagle

It says “Buy $10 or more of any participating Yoplait Yogurt between 8/6/12 and 9/2/12 and save $2″

Participating items include: Yoplait cups, Simplait, Yoplait Original or Light 4-packs, Greek, Greek with Granola, Light with Granola or Fiber, Large size, Delights, YoPlus, GoGurt, Trix, Kids’ Cups or Splitz.

  62. Has anyone had problems with the $5 entertainment book coupon? I've read that some shoppers were told they couldn't use it on a $10/$50 Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi mccoyca - Every once in awhile, if I checkout with a new cashier, I've had they tell me I couldn't use the Entertainment Book coupon on a $10/$50 Thursday. When that happens, I ask they to call Customer Service to clarify the policy.

You are able to use an $5/$10 Entertainment Book on a $10/$50 Thursday when you spend right at $50.

To say the least, I know the Customer Service employees very well at the store I shop. I deal with them often.

I'm sure that there is so much info for a new cashier to remember, they can't possibly be up to speed on all the policies .

  64. I just have to say this was by far the best shopping experience I've had in a long time at SNS. My store (Kirkwood) was well stocked and surprisingly not all that crowded, even for a run-of-the-mill $10 Thursday! Kraft, Crystal Light, and iTunes cats all printed, stock was good, I got lots of stuff we were out of, all the cashiers were great, and I even found some NBPR coupons and rebates I could use on stuff I was buying anyway! By Busch beer, I found $3 MIR on case of water (Superchill is $2.88 and Deja Blue is $3.50) and by Cheezits display in produce, I found $1/2 cheezits or $1/$5 salty snacks (used some on cheezits, some on chips--Tostitos are 2/$5). I always have terrible luck finding beer rebates, so I was excited!
I went through 6 times because things were going so smoothly--I had planned on 4 times. I hope everyone's shopping goes so well!

    1. Oh, I think if you're doing the coke deal (4/$13, get $3 off at checkout) that $3 off counts after the $10. I wasn't sure, so I made sure I was at least $3 over.
Also, a manufacturer rep who was stocking told me he thought you could get the $5 instant rebates to come off after the $10 by having just over $50 so the $10 comes off and then have the last of the instant rebate products after that so the $5 comes off (I hope that makes sense). Anyway, I tried it out (with over $55 just in case) and what happens is the $10 comes off when you hit $50, then the last of the instant rebate items is scanned and the $5 instant rebate comes off and the $10 discount disappears. Luckily I had more items to purchase, so I still got my $10 off. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else had that idea.

  65. Well lets just say my feet are killing me. After 11 transactions and hopefully 2 more I have saved so much money and am stocked for a long time. I spent $130 dollars and haven't figured up how much worth of groceries. I have $13 dollars in catalins and 6 I Tune cards. Everything went perfect for me. All the catalinas printed every time and no hassles at the store.

  66. Great day for savings at S&S!! I did 8 transactions total & overall everything went smooth. My kraft cat only printed $5 on two trans. but it was my fault, I got the wrong oz. on the shreds. Exchanged them at the serv. desk & got my other $5 back. I also had trouble with my stores P&G items prices, the charmin rolls that were supposed to be $7.58 were $7.23 and the Downy was not 2/$11 it rang up at $5.23 ea. Just short of the $30 needed so I exchanged the charmim for the $8.98 pack & a bottle of Tide ($11.88).

  67. The Maplewood and Shrewsbury stores were awesome! I did one transaction at each of them and in both cases had a minor issue.

The first was a missed coupon at the Maplewood store. I was focused on the instant savings and didn't realize that the cashier only scanned two of my three $3/2 Pantene coupons. I was reviewing my receipt in the car to see why it was higher than my calculation and realized the mistake so I went to the customer service counter. They were very nice and gave me $3 cash.

Since the first transaction went so smoothly, I decided to do another after a CVS run. At the Shrewsbury store my Kraft and Crystal Light catalinas didn't print. The cashier said her machine was broken and sent me to the customer service counter. There was a little confusion but they ended up handing me $13.70 in cash.

Can't say that i've ever been this pleased after leaving Schnucks!

  68. Hey Jeri
And hello to the lovely Janet.
Every month i come to this site just for the sns matchups you do such a great job !
I just wanted to say thanks again .And I have always gone on thursday mornings at about 2 am for my 50 dollar thursday . By that time the shelves are about as full as they will get ,the stockers are usually finished, and the check out line is nonexistent . This week i was pleased to save fifty dollars on one transaction ! Thanks again ,love this site.

  69. One of my favorite transactions was done with just the P&G items. I got 3 Always Infinity and 3 Pearl Tampax for $7.47 each, 2 cascade dish detergents for $5 each and 2 dawn dish soaps for $2.78 each which comes to $60.22. I then used 6 $2 MC on the always and infinity, 2 $1 coupons on cascade and 2 .50 coupons on dawn. I also got the $10 off and used a $5 entertainment book. It brought it down to like $30.52 and I got 2 $15 itunes gift card catalinas!

  70. Hi All - I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted. What a day (and week preparing) at SNS!

Overall it sounds like everyone had a great shopping experience, and I hope those that didn't get their Catalinas are able to get the problem fixed.

The store I shop was well stocked, crowds were light for a $10/$50, all Cats and Instant Savings worked for me with no problems, and I even ran into ArmyMomx2 at the store.

I was able to squeeze in four trips, but will be going back for more Kraft products this coming week. They are at stockup prices even without the $10/$50.

  71. I ended up doing 4 transactions...stock was impressive even last evening. I messed up my last transaction (thought om turkey was on sns 5 off), and cs was AMAZING helping me fix it despite how busy they were. My final run was my best: $65 down to $4 just using coupons, instant savings, and one $10 cat. CS (the 2 working there) clapped for me...they're awesome. All in all, spent over $300 for $75. Would've been much lower but got my dog 2 $20 lb bags of Purina One Beyond (he's a sensitive pup) . My dh was thrilled! Hope everyone else had a great day!

  72. Good Morning to All,

Wow what a Great shopping day at SNS. I am loving it that so many are sharing their experiences and savings.

I agree Jeri, these are stock up prices for Kraft items and GM items even without a -$10/$50 day. I know I have at least 10 more transactions to take care of.

Yesterday I started over in MO(had to use some of those great NAPR in MO TPs) did 2 transactions there then onto my regular store for 10 more.

I began with $40 in Catalinas to play with.

    Total items 597
    Total trans. 12
    Total saved $727.25
    Avg. % saved 95%

    Total OOP $41.70
    Avg cost per item $.07
And that includes a Lp tank exchange. =)
And will send in for a $10 Corona Meat Rebate =)Thanks a Million JB =)

Ended with $45 in Catalinas to play with.

And a Million Thank Yous to SNS because "You Make My Day".
