Schnucks Super Triple Coupons: 8/21/13 - 8/27/13

Schnucks Triples Coupons - August 21 - 27, 2013

I'm posting this early because on Tuesday I start my "Collage Grand Tour."

I'm dropping off my youngest in Ames at Iowas State, heading to Minneapolis to pick up the oldest (and as much as his stuff that will fit in the mini van,)  back through Ames to have brunch/lunch with both kids and then heading to California - oldest is going to grad school at Cal Berkeley.

Five hours drive time to Ames, 2 hours to my parents in northwest Iowa (I'm spending the night,) 4 hours to Minneapolis, 32 hours of driving from Minneapolis to San Francisco and another 32 hours home.

If I have some time in the evenings I'll post some Schnucks Super Triple Price Checks, but  if you find good deals, please leave the info in comments.

Thanks We Use Coupon for posting the ad.

  15. If I have 3 Cheerios printables and 1 from an insert, does Schnucks count that as 4 "like" coupons because they are all Cheerios, or 3 "like" coupons because all 4 arent totally identical?

    1. I've used 3 printable and 3 inserts before on one transaction without any issue. I see them as different coupons. Hopefully you don't run into any issues.

  18. does anyone know if the Cape Girardeau Schnucks has a limit to how many coupons they will triple? It doesn't state on the website, it just says 3 like coupons for each type of item.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Who's going to update the list tomorrow morning?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Do you only use one coupon and it triples or do you have to have three of the same coupons to go toward the one product?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You only use one coupon and it triples at the register. My sister asked me the same question the first time I took her shopping. LOL

      Delete
  21. I just got done shopping my triple coupons at 1am this morning and these where the items I was able to get for free. Arm and Hammer toothpaste, Frenches mustard, Dukes mayo, and Kikkoman soy sauce. Oh and I got these at Schnucks.

  22. I'm frustrated that the Dorsett store had not changed over to the new ad as of 2 am. I had to put everything back. I didn't want the hassle of going to Customer Service tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I feel your pain! That store is always a let down... never has what you want when you need it and "we're getting some in tomorrow", in my experience, is never true when they tell you that.

      Delete
  23. Dear Dorsett Shopper,
I am an overnight worker for Schuncks and at midnight at my store I put the new ad into effect at midnight. I know at my store all the departments except for grocery wait to be put up until 5am or 6am. Our grocery department starts putting up the new tags at midnight. Hopefully they do that at the other stores too and you can always have the checker do a price check on an item before it is rung up also and if it is wrong they they should fix it right then and there. And if there is an old tag up I always honor it for the customer. I'm sorry you had a bad experience tonight and I hope you come back even though its not my store.

  24. Wetones wipes were on sale for $2.00 and there is a .75 printable coupon that makes them free.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Stopped at Schnucks after taking my husband to the airport this morning. Got cereal, salad dressing, fruit bowls, and cheap Twix and Dove candy bars. Sale tags hadn't been reset, but the cereals were all the smaller size boxes. Liked like all varieties of Fiber One were included. The register would only do one cereal deal at a time, so I did separate transactions. Watch your cereal coupons- a few didn't triple and had to be keyed in. I ended up getting money back on one transaction because of the overage from those keyed in coupons!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Shopped at the Collinsville, IL store & bought 12 boxes of GM cereal in one transaction & got the $12 instant savings with no problem. I asked first if there was limit & the checkout person said "no" (the ad does not say there's a limit either).

    ReplyDelete
  27. Watch out for the Totino Pizza and Pizza Roll coupons. They only tripled up to the cost of one item when the coupon was off of three items. Customer service did take care of it. For those who use Ibotta, I spoke with the manager at the Arnold store and told her how much more I would shop at Schnucks if they would participate with Ibotta. She said to keep emailing and facebooking indicating how much we want them to participate.

Glade spray is $1.49 and there is a $.50 coupon=free.

    1. You have to buy (3) before you can even use the coupon. Not triple off each item. Only triple off the purchase of (3) total.

      Delete
    2. I did buy in multiples of 3 for each coupon but the coupon only tripled up to the price of one instead of the full triple price. For example I bought 3 pizza rolls for $3.75 and had one coupon for $.75 off of three. It should have tripled to $2.25 but only tripled to $1.25 the price of one. Customer service did fix that and say it should have fully triple because I did buy three products for each coupon. I just wanted to let others know to watch out for Totino's coupons as I did have a refund of $3.65 for what I had bought.

  28. Can you shop at two different Schnuck's stores in the same day and and use 15 coupons at each?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I personally think so since it's different store. That's nice of you to go about doing it this way instead of going back to the store later. I'm debating whether I should (same store) since I'm doing this for the Food Pantry...but still don't want to make a bad impression for couponers.

      Delete
    2. The Schnucks by me will allow you 2 transactions, but ask that you leave the store and come back in.

  29. I went to the schnucks on Dorsett. The cashier had to manually triple some of the coupons. Thankfully he knew about it in advance and was very patient!

    1. Will know what to expect later! Thanks!

    2. Dorsett @ 7PM, they had to manually enter about 1/2 of my coupons. It wasn't too busy and the clerk was very nice and the guys behind me were deep in conversation anyway and didn't seem to mind.

Also, there were plenty of products on the shelves. Oh except for Nature's Own bread, I got the last one.

  30. Kathi,
You have to buy (3) before you can even use the coupon. Not triple off each item. Only triple off the purchase of (3) total.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think what Kathi is saying is that when you purhase 3 boxes of the Totino's the .75/3 coupon is only "tripling" to $1.25 (the cost of one box) rather than to $2.25 like it should. I've run into the same problem at Schnucks in the past.

      Delete
    2. Thanks...that was exactly what I was saying. I just wanted to let everyone know to watch out for that problem. That $1 mistake can buy a lot of groceries this week!:)

      Delete
    3. I'm confused. Even if this wasn't a triple event, you would only receive .75 off the purchase of (3), not $1.25 off all (3).

  32. Yes be careful, I had issues with all the prairie farms coupons, mt olive hang tags, ham helper .75/3, both totinos rolls and pizza, and skippy peanut butter not tripling. It seems to be that a lot of the cents of wyb 2 or 3 coupons that are the biggest problem. Nature's own buns and bread the register is not recognizing so they have to manually put it in. Just a heads up. Patty

    ReplyDelete
  33. Has anyone had an issue with internet/printable coupons not tripling and the store refusing to manually override? A friend had that issue at the Cool Valley and Jennings locations. Did they change their policy and stop tripling printables?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Policy's still the same. Yes I had one but Customer Service refunded me. She got the coupon from the register then refunded me. Hope your CS is nice. I never have a problem with printable (even when the printout isn't the best). ColumbiaSchn

      Delete
    2. I've had that happen at the Cool Valley store as well. There are a couple of cashiers that refuse to do it - usually older cashiers (I've learned who they are...) In fact, this morning I circled the store waiting for another register to open so I wouldn't have to go through one's line :) I had no problems when I did check out (grand total of 26 cents for $26 worth of stuff!)
Basically, if you see the cashier reading every single word on every coupon, you might want to pick a different lane.

  36. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. Customer Service said it's been happening where the machine is not reading (or cashier didn't scan TWO .75 coupons). Be patient, they're pretty nice so stay cool yourself.

A lot of tags were taken out from the products so no free stuff. A lot of the "free" cereals were gone from shelves and it's not even half day yet!

  37. I swear I have so many problems at Schnucks. At what point isn't it worth it?? Took me over 45 minutes to check out due to coupon issues. I did grab the wrong cereal, so I take the blame for some of that. But still... The O'Fallon, MO, store isn't very FRIENDLY! Between the eye rolls and head shaking by the customer service girls, I will be moving on to another Schnucks when triples and doubles come around again.

    2. You are legitimately using coupons. Sometimes they forget that the customer is king and it shouldn't always be on the clock employee social hour (like @ Dorsett Schnucks!). And if I offend anyone, do something different next time I visit your store to prove me wrong.

      Delete
    3. Call headquarters and kindly state your negative experience at that store. I guarantee you that they won't be happy and will work on correcting the problem. I would also call that store and speak with the Store Manager about the situation. You are the reason these people have a job!

      Delete
    4. I shop at the OFallon store every week and have never had anyone not be friendly. They are actually ALWAYS very nice. I have also never stood in line for 45 minutes using coupons. If you only used the 15 that you can, how could it possibly take 45 minutes. They would need to scan a coupon every 3 minutes. Schnucks is giving us a great chance to save money, so please don't go on the internet and bash them. Maybe we could post on their facebook page a compliment and thank them instead of always complaining. Seriously folks lets be more positive. My total today before coupons was $42.00 and my total after was $2.12. I'm happy as a lark!!!I can't believe how quick people are to complain about saving money! Would you rather Schnucks just deliver free groceries to your door? Would that make you happy??

  42. Woohoo! 2 trips to Schnucks done today (they have a 1 transaction per household etc etc rule, but my Schnucks near my work in St. Charles and the one near my home in Overland are both okay with me stopping at each as I typically go after work and again after dinner). Got salad dressings free, bread free, banana peppers free. Missed the cereal deal--heard both stores sold out early! First trip was 52.31 per coupons and 18.06 post coupons, second trip (is in an envelope to be submitted for a Finish dish detergent rebate) started around 33 and ended up at 11. :) Task for the weekend--organize my pantry!

Beware lots of coupons not doubling--inserts and printables, $0.40 and $0.75 doesn't seem to make sense

    1. sure it does, that'a the name of the game don't pay someone to fix the I-T promblem, save money, suck in the customers and don't give them what you promise. welcome to corporate america. the store i went in today the poor guy running the register was a said he was a former computer programmer, software analyst, and I-T profesional, probably in his late 50's. he said that there was no reason these problems could not be fixed, he knew exactly how to get the right amount to come off manually. I said let me guess your job is in India now and your working for minimum wage, with no benefits. They just hope you don't notice. So they can keep up their profits. watch them like a hawk. i think the best part is that they intentionally hire people that can't even count back change without the register telling them how much they owe you. i had one cashier today that couldn't figure out what .75 x 3 is. it's called corporate greed and it is rampent. mr schnucks needs your change more than the working man. the sad part is most of the time they get it without people noticing or saying anything.

    2. Wow...that's a bit strong..perhaps Schnucks is guilty and perhaps not...but either way, they are GEnerOUsLY offering a vast savings and perhaps one shouldn't be so critical? I agree that the kinks should already be ironed out, but let's NOT bite the hand that feeds us.

      Delete
    3. Schnucks IS working to solve the problems. I was there at midnight on Wed. and the coupons were not tripling. People from corporate were called (and probably woken up) to resolve the issue. Copies of the cereal IP's were taken so the issue could be fixed. All of the IP's scanned correctly for me yesterday. Schnucks is running an AMAZING promotion with the triples and I am appalled at the people who have the gall to complain about it.

    4. yeah right they are not going to fix it, lol. they just hope people will not notice they are over charging you. look at the lawsuit filed against walgreens. it's common practice with schnucks coupons also. they could fix it in five minutes if they really wanted to. mark my words, the same issues will be happening a year from now. how much extra money do you think they making withthis practice, it's change to you but, add it up, if it happens to everyone and they take in just $100 in coupons that don't triple like they promise, at each store, each day that's thousands, tens of thousands in no time at all.

  54. Has anyone had any issues today with their coupons only doubling when the coupon exceeds the item price? For example, the Wishbone is $1.67 each, the coupon is 0.70 so after triples it exceeds the item price. Usually the system would just lower the triple to the value of the item, $1.67. I noticed that coupons like this were only doubling so it took off $1.40 instead of $1.67. Please let me know if anyone else has seen this. Thanks!

    1. My Nature's Own .75 coupon did not triple because it was more than the item cost (2.09). What it did was give me the item for free .75 + $1.34 = 2.09, making it free. Which is what sounds like should have happened to your Wishbone: .70 + .97 = 1.67, free.

    4. I was at the OFallon MO store yesterday - WONDERFUL experience!! I saved the cereal coupons to the end since they caused problems on Wed. The cashier told me that she took every coupon up to CS that didn't scan properly so that CS could call the corporate office and have them fixed. Every one of my coupons scanned properly yesterday. So it seems they are trying to fix the issues. It takes the right cashier to let someone know though. If they just manually make it work, that only helps in that one transaction.

  57. Without reading ALL of the above posts, anytime a coupon doesn't triple, or double, properly, call it to the attention of the cashier and have them correct it. If they are unable, then have them call management. If the coupon value exceeds the price of the item (ie..the Wishbone), then the item is merely free. (.75cents x 3= $2.25~ $1.67 taken off rather than $2.25).
I hope that this is not repetitive and helpful to some of my coupon friends!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yup. Store policy said they are not going to allow overage (if u got the overage, then the cashier just didn't know the policy or didn't bother to correct the machine).

Just make sure the coupon applies to the correct items. Customer Service helped me and got me back around $6! Helpful to bring your own pen to reference the coupon with the item to make sure!

    2. I had a cashier yesterday that was very nervous about my cereal coupons and how to triple them. I kindly reminded her that my .75 coupons only needed to double because I was only being charged 1.50 oop for the cereal after the $4 off 4 boxes. She was very appreciative of my honesty and was super nice. After I helped explain the cereal coupons to her, she was very diligent about making sure I got the right values on my other coupons. 1. Schnucks just started the super doubling and tripling about 10 months to a year ago (right before the fall/winter holidays, I think). It seems to me that they offer a super double or triple about once a month, although I think there was a lull right after the whole thing with credit card numbers being stolen (March-ish?). The coupon values that they'll double/triple change, ie double $0.50 and less, triple $0.75, double $1, triple $0.50, double $0.75 (we haven't gotten so lucky as triple $1!).
They always double coupons $0.40 and less, as does Dierbergs. No other grocery stores in St Louis area double coupons as far as I'm aware.

    ---

I was at Dierbergs this morning getting some fabulous deals when I kept finding photocopied coupons left on the shelf by a previous customer.

People, please don't photocopy coupons. It's illegal and it gives the rest of us trying to coupon ethically and legally a harder time to do so.

For the honest among us, if you see a photocopied coupon in the store, do what I did and crumple it up and throw it away. I would hate for the casual shopper to pick it up and get in trouble. Let's not let a few bad apples spoil this all for us.

    1. Were they photocopies of coupons from the paper or internet coupons? People need to realize that if they copy the internet coupons, they each have a unique number that can be traced back to your computer's IP address. I had to explain that to a cashier once who accused me of using photocopies...

      Delete
    2. Are you 100% sure they were photocopied? Many of my coupons are black text with orangy-pinky product shots --- its because all my printer ink colors are empty...

      Delete
    3. All of my coupons print in black and white and a little faint. This is because I have my printer set to only print in black/gray scale and on draft. This saves a ton on ink through out the year. Every so often I'll be questioned by a cashier and when I explain how I do it they understand. You may have found coupons from someone who does the same thing. I know a lot of others that do the same thing.

      Delete
    4. Yes, these were pretty obvious photocopies of internet printables. Otherwise I would have used one of them! I print in grayscale too most of the time. These were not printed.

Obviously the person who left them may not have known photocopying coupons is wrong. I'm pretty sure all the commenters here know not to do that. I mainly wrote my first comment for new couponers and all the lurkers out there.

Like the first anon said, printable coupons contain your IP address and can be traced back to you. If you abuse them, they can block you from printing again from that computer.

    3. Some people printed a .55 cpn for Heinz ketchup on smart source a while back. Making the ketchup .14 after triple. I think that's where the confusion is coming from.

  73. As far as the Liberte, on their website you can search what stores near you carry their products. Not many near me in Ballwin.

  74. Does anyone have the upc code to Bounty Basic single 1ct roll? Also, I'm having a hard time finding this single roll at Schnucks. If anyone knows what store has them I'd truly appreciate it. Thanks

    1. I saw them with the "back to school" items like pens/pencils/puff tissues. I saw a lot at the beginning of the triple event and by today, the last day, I didn't see any.

The Ladue store had lots this morning. I noticed them on my way out and had to go back and get a few rolls. They are up against the wall after you go through checkout in a huge box with Puffs tissue.

    3. I found them at the Dardenne Prairie store. They were in a dump bin near the paper products aisle. Next to a bin with Puffs tissues. - Andrea

    4. At the Kirkwood store, they are to the left when you enter through the right side doors. I always miss them if I come and go through the other doors.

  75. Does anyone know what the regular price is at Shop N Save this week for the Red Baron Pizzas, watermelon, and Johnsonville that are on the front page coupons of the ad. I'm trying to decide if I need enough to make a trip tomorrow worthwhile.

    1. Did this work? The coupon is for 160g+ (5.64oz+) and the sale says 4.41-4.62oz.
