  1. There are disney gift cards too...if you are planning a trip to WDW or have a package booked, you can use those cards to pay on your package or as you would cash in WDW. The princess ones let you set your denomination.

  2. Hi, Ms. Jeri!

I thought promo would end June 18th according to the fine print at the bottom of the ad?!?! :I

  3. Hi Liz - Great idea for Disney. That could add up to lots of free grocery on a Disney trip.

Thanks, coupon.girl - Yep, I need new glasses or a magnifying glass :)

  5. i bought 300 in BP gas cards! Now I have $60 to use at shop n save next week! (three different trips of course) I plan on combining this with the $5 coupon from Entertainment Book and $10 off $50 Thursday to really save big next week! Plus, now I have enough gas gift cards to last my husband and I the next month! Woo Hoo! :) Thanks Jeri!

  6. Hmmm...we're getting ready for a road trip. With 8 kids we might be able to use a McD's GC or two. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  7. I just glanced in the direction of the gc and didn't think about gas cards. EXCELLENT idea! Sadly, $100 would be enough for 1.111 tanks of gas lol. I need gas today so maybe I'll stop by SNS first.

    ReplyDelete
  8. you can use up to 5 of the $20 in 1 shopping trip. It states that in the pamphlet on the gift card stand.

Be careful. I used the same credit card 3 times in a row and then the 4th time it wouldn’t go because the company (citi) thought it was fraud. If you have 2 or more credit / debit cards take them with you.

  9. Does anyone know if this coming week is Coupon Thursday?

    ReplyDelete
  10. yes it is coupon thursday..and there is also a Conagra deal buy 25 get 10

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hi All - Yes, next Thursday (June 16th) is a $10 off $50 day.

    Courtney - 8 kids - It might take more than a few $100 McD's gift cards. :)

Jess - Anyone spend more than $50 at a time at SNS? At least I hope they don't on a $10 off $50 Thursday.

Thanks for the heads up on using your Credit/Debit card multiple times in a row. I'm sure it wasn't what you planned, but it is nice the CC company is looking for fraudulent activity.

  12. Looking for Target gift cards at SNSave or to buy a gift card for somewhere that does sell Target gift cards. Anyone with help on this?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi All,

I am so glad you guys are taking advantage of this deal. Like I stated I will be doing the GC deal til it ends. Then next week I will be using the $20 Cats on the ConAgra deal for another huge donation round for pennys out of pocket.

  14. Oh, I can't wait until my dh gets home so we can plan our gift card buying extravanga! I was going to at least get Kohls..but saw on a commercial that JCP is offering their deal on each $25 that you spend with an instant $10 off...gotta love that! Has anyone tried or had a problem using Wags RR to pay for part of their GC purchase? I have $50 in RR potentially burning a hole my 'wags envelope', lol! Oh, and we're going to Disney this Thanksgiving...so need to think about THAT. EVE

  16. Sears is running a promotion if you buy 50 worth of mens clothing get a 25$ reward card for your future purchase....and SNS sells Sears GCs....so a good deals for the men in your life...

    ReplyDelete
  17. The printed coupon says "limit one coupon per transaction per day"

Mine expires 6/17 so you have to use them fairly quickly.

  18. Last week I got McDonalds, Applebees and Red Lobster cards. Going back for more this week! Last year I got Southwest Airlines cards and saved $20 off my flight by using the Ent Book coups.

    ReplyDelete
  19. There are no Target gift cards, but you can get Amazon gift cards, which can be used to buy just about anything including Target gift cards.

Also, they have Marriott gift cards if you're doing any travelling!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am about 99% sure that you cannot buy target gift cards or any other gift cards with amazon GCs...I however did go again and purchased BP Gcs

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh. Sorry! Thanks, Sadina!

  22. Where do you all get the advance notice about Sns Thursday? What's the conagra deal? Do you have a link? Is the ad findable somewhere?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm wondering the same thing. Does anyone have a link to a sneak peek ad for next week? I'm trying to start planning my shopping trip since its going to be a $10 off $50 Thursday!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just an FYI..I asked about using wags RR on GC deal & it's not allowed ah well...it would've been great! We're knocking out Dad's Day gifts though! EVE

  25. Does anyone know if you can roll this coupon?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Register with Coupon Traders (link on the right sidebar) Many times someone has early info and it's posted there.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Are the P&G and energizer deals still going on? If so, what are the end dates?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Monica,
It does roll. The catalina says you can not use it to buy gift cards, so your cashier might not let you use it to buy more gift cards unless you are also buying groceries.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Where did you guys find the BP Gas GC? Didn't find any at my store last night, Chippewa cor Kingshiway, St. Louis. :( Should I think that they're sold out already? :(

  30. Good Morning to All,

Hi coupon.girl-I would ask the store to get more in. I requested some $100 Lowes gift cards the other day since they only had $25s left and the $100s will be so much easier to redeem when necessary. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Couponmama - I am excited to see you name here again. The P&G Catalina (Buy $20 get $5) is valid through 6/18.

The original info on the Energizer Cat said it ran through 6/4, but SNS had the wrong start date on the shelf advertising they originally put up, I really don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi Coupon.girl - I was at the store on Gravois yesterday and don't remember seeing BP cars there either. You might try calling the next closest stores and asking them to check for you before you drive around looking for them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I was at Shop N Save today and they said this promo was over?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Good Morning to All,

hapy2bme-Per the SNS ad last week the promo ends on the 18th. Whomever you spoke to does not have a clue about what their store is doing.

I will be picking up a few GCs today myself and will report if there are any problems.

Have a great day to everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  35. HI hapywbme - My husband bought Home Depot gift card on Sunday and received the $20 Catalina.

This seems to be a common problem lately of stores having no idea of what is going on at SNS. When people get this kind of missinformation, they should be calling corporate.

    ReplyDelete
  36. My coupon states that it cannot be used in conjunction with other offers. Does this mean I can't use my $10 Energizer Catalina or my $5 Shop N Save coupon from the Entertainment Book with the $20 Catalina for the gift cards? Please help! I'm trying to plan my SNS trip for Thursday! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi Anonymous - The verbage on the back of the Catalina is the same for every Cat. I've always used Catalinas on a $10 off $50 Thursday with the $5 off $50 coupon from the Entertainment book and have never had a problem. Plan away!

    ReplyDelete
  38. This might be one of my favorite deals ever. Does anyone have any insights as to whether we can use 2 of the $20 coupons in one transaction. (Worst case scenario for a $50 transaction minus $10 Thurs, minus 2-$20 coupns=free!? Even without a single coupon....???)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi Jeri,

I was thinking about you and your splurge fund for pantry cabinets-have you looked into what Home Depot or Lowes has to offer? It might be worth cking into and using those funds to buy the GCs for this project and benefit from the $20 Cat back by putting some meats in that freezer of yours. ;) I plan on using one $20 to stock up on some TP Thursday. Are you planning a trip for Thursday?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi Melissa,

The GC Cats state "Limit one per transacation" per day. I have only used them one per transaction but my stores have allowed me to do more than one transaction. Hope that helps. =)

    ReplyDelete
  41. There was zero signage at my store this morning indicating this was ongoing. Didn't have time to stop and ask the service counter about it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi Melissa - I was thinking of the "free transaction with 2 cats also, but... If you have $5 off $50 coupons from the Entertainment Book its $15 for $50 of groceries without any other coupons.

Janet- I've got Ikea cabinets in the kitchen and am planning those for my pantry. I'm planning on bring them home from Minneapolis when we move my son's things back up there on Labor Day.

I love my Ikea cabinets. I put all drawers in the kitchen with no upper cabinets - just some open shelving and hanging racks. I even have my dishes in a drawer.

My husband though I was crazy when I was planning this and even put the blocking in the wall because he was sure I would change my mind and want to put upper cabinets in. He's a believer now.

Do you like the meat you get at SNS? I've not boutght much meat at SNS and the things I have bought I haven't liked very well. The store I shop dosen't have a very good selection either. I've always wondered if other locations might have better meat.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hi Jeri,

You are going to have to post some pics of your kitchen. I would love to see. DH and I have measured for cabinet slides and I cannot wait.

Meats are hit and miss. The roast I made yesterday was to die for. Porks usually all good. Steaks not so good. Burger in placement of the meat locker burger I was trading for-I have been pleased. Chicken all good. I been stocking pork chops, boneless chops, thick cut pork steaks and such since I have some of those great -$1/1 Fresh Pork coupons-I been trying to find pks about $2 which are perfect for price and size wise. I did splurge a couple weeks ago and stopped at a meat market and bought a whole ribeye uncut at $145.00 and made a few steaks and some packs of shaved ribeye for steak sandwiches-YYYYUUUUUUMMMMMMMMYYYY well worth the money.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I went to the St. John store this morning to do some price checking and pick up the gift card deal. The signs were posted over both gift card racks, but they were completely out of bp. They had mostly restaurants and retail. No target. They called the St. Ann store and I went there to get my $100 in bp. They only had a handful left and there was no signage at their store. But the ad from last week said through the 18th, so I talked to the CS desk first and was prepared to defend myself! But it worked just fine!! I got my $20 for thursday. For those who are wondering, mixed in with all the legalese, it says, "Redeem after MFCs and store coupons" and "This offer CAN be combined with other promotional offers." Emphasis mine.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi Janet - When we first put the Idea cabinets in I tried to get some good pics, but my kitchen is really small and I couldn't get a very good angle for the pic.

Thanks for your review of meat. I think I tried to buy some beef items that I wasn't very happy with and all the packaging is huge at my store. If I have one of those $1 off meat coupons I can't find any packaging except for the family size.

The ribeye sounds wonderful. When you save as much money as you do or your regular groceries, it must be fun to splurge on something really good.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hi Shannon - That was nice of the St John store to call the St Ann store for you. I think we are all a little gun shy if the Catalina dates are correct on SNS advertising after the Energizer snafu. I'm feeling that way about the P&G deal for this week. I can't read the ending dates on the picture on my blog, but I've got a copy in my email Eve sent me. And the date is readable on that picture.

Thanks for getting through the fine print on the back of the Catalina.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Went today and got Lowes gc and got 40 catalinas. I asked at sc and they said you could not use a shop n save gift card to buy any gift cards. I was bummed. I was hoping to save another 10 dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lynda-sorry you got that information. We purchased 4-$100 cards using SNS giftcards purchased with Entertainment book coupons. (hence, $360 out of pocket for $400 in gas plus $80 in groceries!!)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Lynda, Just try it. I did it twice yesterday, using the Entertainment book coupons to buy SnS gift Cards and then using those gift cards to buy Red Lobster (happy Birthday dinner Momma!) and BP cards as well.

I hope it works for you!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yesterday was my Mom's Birthday. We always go out to celebrate. She picked Red Lobster. --- hold on Mom! I have to stop at SnS first! ;) I picked up $100 Red Lobster GC using 2 x $50 SnS GC I had purchased with $5 Entertainment book coupons.
I received my $20 catalina and had everyone give me their portion of the bill so we could pay with the GC!
I was feeling pretty proud of myself, until I got home and was talking to a friend who mentioned how great that the Red Lobster coupon was in this week's paper. WHAT?!?! I didn't get a chance to open the paper!! I didn't even know about it!! UGH! oh well, I still feel like I got a pretty good deal and nice meal with the whole family!

  51. Hi, Tonya! We couponers are really one of a kind. I hear you on missing out a coupon. Like CJ, I'm frustrated with myself when am not perfect with my couponing which happens every now & then. Anyways, I always tell my hubby to inform me way ahead of time what & when he needs something from any store/restaurant so I can look for ALL the coupons out there for it. With all my coupons on hand when we eat out, his sister calls me "coupon queen" and I told her that am "coupon.girl"! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anyone else tried to redeem a $20 cat from this deal? I did today with the Conagra deal (so that I could use a $20 plus the $10 Conagra cat in one transaction on Thursday). I was charged tax on the pre-coupon total. Is this because the $20 'catalina' is actually a 'store coupon'? I've never seen that before at SNS, but just curious if it was just my store or is this is everywhere. If this is the case, be aware that you can expect slightly larger out of pocket expenses on Thursday if cashing in your $20 coupons.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi Melissa - The Cat is not a store coupon and even if it was, in Missouri tax should be calculated after coupons. I haven't heard anyone else mention this, yet. I would imagine this is a coding error for this coupon. Oh my!

    ReplyDelete
  54. does anyone know if we can use 2 of the $20 in one transaction tomorrow? I didn't get an entertainment book but I have $220 worth of $20 shop n save gift certs. I may be on my way to 11 transactions if so....

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hi, Melissa and Ms. Jeri! Got the same experience as Melissa's yesterday when I used the $20 Cat. Q. It is coded like the $5 off $50 coupon. So I think both are store coupons and for some reason SnS system is programmed to charge tax BEFORE their store's Qs. Very Bummer! They're not following the coupon Missouri law just like Bass Pro in St. Charles, MO. (The GCs I bought was for their store. Hubby's.)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Harvester shop n save lets you use multiple $20 cat fyi

  57. Where are people finding the BP Gift Cards. I asked at 2 SNS in Collinsville and neither had any kind of gas GC. I'm wondering if I should travel to STL for my gas cards??? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  58. Can I still buy the gift cards on the 18th???

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hi Stacey - Yes, through Saturday the 18th a $100 Gift Card purchase will trigger the $20 Cat.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Thank you Jeri for the confirmation!! I am so excited...I live over an hour away from the nearest store and totally forgot to get them yesterday.

  61. Kelly in West CountyJune 17, 2011 at 1:08 PM

I was charged tax as well....a big bummer since my total should have been $0.72 - my lowest ever! Instead, it was $2.20.

In talking with Schnucks about the tax issue,I was once told that the computer has no way of knowing whether to take off High or Low tax on cats - so it doesn't take off any.

I had noticed awhile ago that we are still charged tax on the ent book q - but haven't had the energy to fight this battle. It really ads up though. We probably should at some point. Maybe Valerie at corporate might be a good person to talk to. Has anyone brought this up to corporate?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Kelly, or whomever else is interested in fighting the tax battle, I have some online documentation about coupons and that we should be taxed on the after-coupon amount. If anyone wants it and wants to forward it to SNS, feel free. Just leave your email on here and I can send it out (after I find where I saved it!). I fought this battle with one of my local Wags, and they took care of it within a week. The same with a local Hallmark store. Probably if a few people complain it will do more good than if one of us complains.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Schnucks is horrible about the tax issue too...they charge pre coupon as well....imagine how many people they rip off with a few dollars here and a few dollars there..

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hi All - I understand about "fighting the battle" about being charged sales tax when coupons are used. The hardest part it to get to the correct person in the organization to change their system.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Jeri, it shouldn't be hard when we state they are breaking the law and doing something illegal. Like I said, I've fought this battle and it went surprisingly well both times and wasn't really a "fight" as much as I thought since I had the documentation to back it up. I emailed SNS late yesterday afternoon. Hopefully they will cooperate.

I didn't know that about Schnucks. We should send them the same info.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Here is the link: http://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/12csr/12c10-103.pdf

It's page 13 in the document (page 12 if going by PDF page numbers). It's under 12 CSR 10-103.555 Determining Taxable
Gross Receipts. Example 4 kind of puts it in language most of us understand.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks for the link, Julie! I think the hard part is getting to the right person that can fix the problem.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Jeri,
Shop n save would not allow me to purchase the gift cards using a SNS gift card. And they had signs all over the place stating that also. SNS- Ofallon Mo.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hi Dude - I've heard some people have been able to puchase Gift Cards with a SNS Gift Card and others haven't. I think your store might have been correct in not allowing it. You could always call Corporate and find out what the store should have been doing.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Heard back from Valerie today. I looked at old receipts and I think the $5/$50 isn't being taxed, so that one is right. If anyone has a receipt that shows otherwise, let me know.

I think the problem lies in the $20 cat when we redeem it. I've given her examples of my balances after coupons and how much tax, so hopefully they can figure it out.

Normally I only buy food at SNS, but this week I had toiletries so I have two different tax rates, so it makes it harder to figure up the tax amount. Obviously something is wrong since I was charged so much in tax...I just don't know where the problem is exactly. Old receipts show the $5/$50 isn't the problem so the only thing I can think of is the $20 cat.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hi Julie - I also think the $5/$50 coupon is being handled correctly. It has to be that $20 Catalina. I don't remember this happening with other Cats at SNS .

Thank you for taking the time to pursue this issue.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Just got another email from Valerie and she claims the problem was fixed last week...she didn't say when. She asked my location and said she will alert the store that I will be returning for the overcharged amount. I'm not really worried about it since it's so little. Hopefully the problem IS fixed and we have no problems next week.

If anyone uses a $20 cat THIS week and the tax isn't fixed, please post!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Next week = this week...sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Hi Julie - That's good it's fixed.
