Thanks Schnucks & Dierbergs for Triple Coupons

Thank you Schnucks & Dierbergs. Triple coupons made for a fun week of shopping.

I put a poll on Coupon STL's Facebook page,  so everyone could chime in on their favorite product they were able to pick cheap, if not free.  I hope everyone heads over and adds their vote. Also, feel free to leave a comment on this post.

You might also want to leave a comment on Schnucks Facebook page  and Dierbergs Facebook page thanking them for this promotion.  Let's hope they do it again!

  1. I am thankful for all of the freebies especially the Smart Balance spread and Quaker Medleys oatmeal, and for the great price on Gortons.

  2. It is hard to pick just one deal. I liked getting all the cheap greek yogurt. I also like the cheap fruit snacks and the free candy bars (my trick or treaters liked them too!) I also liked stocking up on free/cheap staples that I don't often get good deals on like corn starch, Karo syrup, hot sauce, yeast, etc. Basically, I liked all the deals. :)

  3. This might be a funny one, but my favorite free deal was Curad bandaids. I have five kiddos, and three are boys!!! We use A LOT of bandaids and last week I ran out. Thankfully, I picked up three boxes to stock up:) There were so many other deals, I saved over $200 last week at Schnucks. Thank you for all the work to help with matchups.

  4. It's hard to pick one. I really enjoyed getting free tooth paste, smart balance, free or cheap baking supplies. I guess my favorite deal was the Muir Glen, I usually buy it at Whole Foods. However, the deal almost fell apart. The coupons didn't scan at Dierberg 's and the cashier asked a manager and he said if the coupon doesn't scan, they don 't take it. The cans went back on the shelves. Two days later, I went to another Dierberg 's with even more Muir Glen coupons and they didn't scan again. The cashier asked a manager and she showed the cashier how to enter each coupon manually and each of them tripled.

    1. I found recently that any coupons.com (or their affiliates) coupons don't have the old style UPC code on the coupon and neither Schnucks or Dierbergs scan the new style barcode, they all have to be manually entered.

    2. I've been having the same problem. It takes more time to check out, so frustrating. Also, at Walmart if it doesn't scan they won't take it anymore, they have new cpn rules. Plus if you get a rude cashier it makes for a even worse time. I had one last week that kept telling me how much she hated cpns. I use to shop there all time thinking I got better prices. I have found myself shopping there less and less because I am finding better deals at the other stores. My self gratification(sp?) from her....bring told by a cashier at my Schnucks I was the best triple cpn person she had seen. I had checked out with her multiple times during the week.

    4. Hi John - Unless Schnucks & Dierbergs have reverted back to their old system, I haven't had any problems with the new bar code.

Shop 'n Save was 3-4 months late updating their system, but I found the other stores had their systems updated by the first of the year.

    5. Hi Gabby - Interesting the store didnt' take your Glen Muir coupon. You could have printed them from Dierbergs Web site.

Most retailers have the same coupons from coupon.com available from their own web pages.

There could be many reasons a legit coupon does not scan. Everything from the computer it was printed on, to the manf. changing (usually reducing) the size of the product and the coupon is not coded for the size on the shelf at the store.

  5. I had two favorites - the free Quaker Real Medleys which are really yummy & the $1 General Mills cereal that had the free movie ticket offer. I had lots of old .50 no expiration date coupons so was able to stock up & figure I won't have to pay for a movie for the next year!

  6. Probably all my free Twix bars and the $1 boxes of cereal with the free movie ticket codes on them. Oh and the super cheap Greek yogurt.

  7. I agree Jeri!! We should also visit the respective facebook pages and let them know how much we enjoyed this promotion! I let them know my reasoning and how Shop N Save offers a $10 off $50 promotion monthly they should have a marketing incentive to match that.

  8. I managed to snag $.50 q's for any Kikkoman product on the Wounded Warrior Project Savings page. My $1.99 panko was $.49. I also was able to get $.75 Bakers bars. I got the free butter, oatmeal, Jiffy pop. Super cheap Fruit snacks, Karo, yeast and cornstarch. The cashiers were great and all said- see ya tomorrow! All in all, the only day I didn't stop at Schnucks was Saturday. I don't know what I spent/saved but my most expensive reciept was $13 on a $36 order. (that was the panko, bakers bars, Nestle chips, speghettio's. I hope they do it again. And if you all are willing to take a drive- The Carbondale store is running it as well. They are tripling 20 q's. I thought about taking a Sunday drive out there(their ad comes out on Sundays)- then I realized I must have a problem. :)
