  1. Awesome! Thanks.

I was also thinking of getting Better Oats Oatmeal. According to Schnuck's App, they are $1/1 so with the 2/24 SS $.75/2 coupon, it should work out to be $.25 each.

    1. Great shopping!

I'm still seeing Post Sesame Street on the Schnucks App for $1.88. Do you suppose there is some other Post Seasame Street product besides cereal?

My Activia coupon is $1/1 too. Thanks for mentioning it. I'll fix the post.

      Thanks for your price info.

    2. Jeri - Maybe the WG store just didnt have the sale tag up yet, I didnt bother to price check. The Post website only shows the Elmo and Cookie Monster cereals. I'll check at Brentwood and/or Kirkwood on the way home tonight.

    4. I was at Webster. The Elmo cereal had the $1.88 tag. It was not next to the Cookie monster cereal, which was tagged $3.19.

  17. I went out this morning to start at 6am...my cottleville (St Charles) Schnucks opens at 6am. I have always gone out and come back in there. I have confirmed w/ customer service and many of the casheirs and they have always said, "Sure, you can go out and come back in and do the sale again". This time they were not friendly about it when I came in the 2nd time. I don't mind at all, because I'm thankfull they do these sales. I went to my other Schnucks at Jungerman...and they all said "Sure! We allow you to come back in!"....So I guess it just really matters on the combination of people working and so on and so on....I also went to Deirbergs today...all in all 5 transactions and $200 in SAVINGS :) I was talking to a gentleman that works at Schnucks....he confirmed what I thought about the ad week starting on WED. They did it so that no matter which grocery store tries to have a sale or coupon event...they will be able to start their ad week with a BETTER sale or event. Schucks is so smart......Bring on the Grocer Wars!!! :)

    Happy shopping everyone

    2. Thanks....I am loving my stock pile lately. My husband just got a freezer for our garage! It arrived 2 days ago, so I'm super excited to find any freezer deals. Not that long ago, there was a -$1 any fresh pork coupon. I used it today to get some really nice looking pork steaks for cheap :) Also, I noticed that the OM bacon for $3.99 at schnucks is WAY cheaper than the same bacon at Dierbergs....so I was able to stock up on some for the freezer with the -$1/2 coupons.com that doubled. Funny that the 6 packs of bacon I got today was over half of the money I spent out of pocket!

Also, sorry if its posted already, but there is a 0.75 coupon for Heinz home style gravy, 12 oz or larger....the 12 oz jars are only $1.47, makes them free. I LOVE these...they are really good...just last night we used some and did salsbury steak and mashed potatoes:)

Now I'm organizing and putting together some bins of things I can give to family.

    5. I also had the same issue at Cottleville. I've always been able to check out and come back in for the second trip. Today was quite the experience. I even had the "Manager" tell me that I should not come back in. Whoa!!! I'm following up with Corporate tomorrow and the GM Greg to see what is going on. I was so embarrassed as she kept going on and on in at the front of the store when people were passing. I might have to avoid Cottleville. I love Harvester. They are SO NICE and helpful. Just venting. Thanks for listening. /Blair

    6. We are always glad to listen to a rant. I hope you do follow up with corporate. Let us know what was said.

I understand if they only allow one shopping trip per person per day, but there is always a polite, respectful way to communicate that to a shopper.

  18. Just a heads up, I purchased 3 Campbell's Slow Kettle Style soup, priced at $2.99 each. Using the IP $1/1 coupon doubled, it came out to $.99 each. However, when I checked out, it also printed a $1.50 catalina oyno! Not sure what the catalina deal is, but thought I share.

    IP coupon is here: http://www.campbellskitchen.com/SavingsCenterLandingPage/CouponsAndSpecialOffers.aspx

    2. I stopped buying papers altogether when the price went up. If there's a REALLY good deal that I know about far enough in advance (usually at CVS) I might order from a clipping service but that's rare. Even with just printable coupons I find that I get plenty of good deals. Sure, I miss out on some things but for the amount of money I save in papers, it's worth missing a few things here and there.

    3. Also he's recently (Dec) been diagnosed as diabetic Type 2, so I now spend more time in the stores reading labels for deals to cut the sugar/carbs (he's not even an overweight guy-just he's addicted to soda (Pepsi) & hereditary). So my shopping habits have changed a bit lately. But, I have found companies are making an effort to offer regular item options with less sugar than before and that helps as our grocery bill did increase (20-25%) after his diagnosis.

Couldnt find the Green Giant veggie chips at any of the stores - I looked in the chips and snacks aisles and on every end cap. Simply Cranberry juice rang up at $3.99 but still had an expired sales tag on the shelf so I got them for $3 each ($1.50 each after .75 printables). 36. I just have a quick comment. I love the fact of saving money but yesterday I went to the Schnucks in our area and had a HORRIBLE experience. First- a lady had 15-20 Kraft mayo in her cart as was putting the last one in her cart! So therefore no more Kraft may & this was pretty much my entire shopping trip. I did say to the lady "hi I just needed 2 of those" She said "Opps looks like I beat you to them!" Also there was many people doing multiple transactions. I know this because I had to wait for the lady in front of me to do 4!!! I ended up leaving with a bag of gluten free pretzels. So I just would like to say I think it's great to save but isnt there a point when it becomes a bit greedy and not very nice to the other people shopping?

    1. A few couponers can give all a bad name. Not only was the person you ran into behavior unacceptable, but the store has put on limits for a reason. You should contact corporate and complain about the store you shopped at.

The store you shop at could stop this kind of behavior.

      Delete
    2. I agree! How do you have all that mayo in your cart when its only 3 like coupons per transaction? REally, I didn't think they were letting people split up transactions at the register either....That's terrible.

      Delete
    3. The more I think about this, how did one person get their hands on 15-20 IP's. They would have to have access to 8-10 computers to print from. I know almost everyone has access to more than one computer, but 10?

I sure hope that shopper didn't' copy Internet printables. When people start doing that, it makes using IP's difficult for everyone.

      Delete
    4. I agree that there is a line between saving/stockpiling and being greedy. Unfortunately, sometimes the excitement gets the best of the newer couponers - I have noticed since I have been doing this for several years now. It takes some time to realize that you can't use that much of something even when it is free.
Sorry you had that experience - really makes it no fun...

Jeri - I used to have access to 12 computers between work and home until everyone at work got laptops and take them home with them. Now I can print easily from 3 computers only, sometimes two others.

      Delete
    5. I have access to 10-12 computers daily, between work and home. I share the coupons with family and friends so have started saving money too. Especially my sister in law who was clueless with 4 kids 3 under 7. The first time I showed how to figure it out she called me beyiond happy because she saved $45 ish on a close to $100 shopping in 2 days. I showed her during a triples week. Now she turns to me every week and asks for the deals. I have the time to look she's a little more busy then.

    6. O.K. you can tell it's been many years since I worked in an office. I will ask my husband to print at the office - if it's a really good coupon, but don't want to take advantage of the companies paper & ink.

I'm just afraid that some people copy coupon.

      Delete
    7. I'm sure people do. I have 4 computers at home that I'll take a chance on cpns. I only print what I know I'll use anywhere else.

    8. Yeesh....I work in an office that you can never use company resources for yourself...not to mention instaling coupon printers and going to the coupon sites themselves has too many cookies and ads attached...its not safe for our network. Its hard because I am telling some people I work with about couponing and the sites and they keep asking if they can print from work. I just tell them not to do it and why, because I don't want anyone to get in trouble over it. we are not even allowed to use the internet for personal use there though.

    3. My guess would be yes. I had a couple cpns that she realized hadn't doubled before I did:) I had an amazing time at Dierberg's this time. They were accomodating and the cashier was extremely nice. Which was awesome for me because I usually have nothing but a nightmare checking out. I have learned that there are a couple of cashiers to just steer clear of. Sometimes I think they enjoy making checking out painful to discourage you from couponing. I can't say the same for Schnucks this time. The cashier were crabby and the store was not well stocked. SOme of that maybe from them resetting the store.

  39. I got the last bag of GG chips at the Crestwood store about an hour ago. None of the other 3 locations I'd been to even had a space for them. Finally found the "Ten" 2 liter sodas near the salad bar, not with the other sodas where I would expect them to be. I hate when stores hide stuff! I used the self scanner today today since I only had a few coups. I may try that again during double and triple weeks. I liked being able to scan coups at my own pace and making sure they doubled right. My Synders and Ten coupons doubled automatically with no problems. I dont think I've ever had a "Do not double" coupon not double at Schnucks since theyve been doing this.

    4. This is what I see on the C&H website for light sugar. This is the same page the coupon is from. I don't seen a brown sugar option for it, but I haven't checked my store yet.

      Delete
    5. Hi All - I think C&H probably intended this coupon to to be used on their "sugar substitute" product, but they didn't word the coupon with those stipulations.

I have purposely not tried to figure out how coupons are coded. (That can easily take you down the wrong path.) So, I don't know if the register will accept it for the Light Brown Sugar, but if they coded it like they worded the coupon, it will work.

My opinion is - companies should be consistent with the wording and intentions of the coupon. When they are not, it causes confusion for the shopper and the store.

I mentioned the problem I had with the pretzels above.
The Kraft mayo marked at 2.00 rang up at 2.99, but I didn't notice until I got home. :(

I used 1/2 peelies from a cereal endcap display to get 6 free quaker popped snacks.

Thanks to Jeri and everyone else. Maybe I'll make one more trip today if I can get to the Rich Hts store. They will probably have the chips, at least.

  57. At the Dorsett Schnucks off 270, they have a huge bin of Kraft tarter sauce for $1.19 each in the produce department with tear pad coupons for $1/2 on the bin. So, I paid $.19 for each bottle. This is the first time I have ever been able to stock up on tarter sauce for a great price.

    1. Good post Stacey! I saw these same coupons at the Des Peres store with the tarter sauce on an endcap at the back of the store.

  58. UPDATE:::
I called Corporate and was told stores are enforcing the limit of "One trip of 15 coupons doubled (or tripled when that promotion is going on) per household per day". I see they are holding strong on the policy although we all know that the stores are allowing something different. For now I am avoiding Cottleville and their stink-eye cashiers/manager due to my experience on Sunday. Good luck to all who can do more than one transaction per day per store.//Blair

    1. I started to get some stinky looks after my third consecutive trip through last night. But no one actually said anything to me.

    2. Hmmmm...Cottleville is still my favorite schnucks, so I'll still go regardless. Living in St. Chas there is Midrivers, Cottleville, and Jungerman... Can't complain because with just a little driving I have 3 I can visit per day. I don't think the limit is a bad thing. I LOVED going in and out, however, I can see the point of the limits.

The only problem I have is that the cashier at Cottleville as really rude about it to me. I was about the only person at 6am in the store, and when I was ringing up my 2nd trip in, the casheir out of nowhere says..."YOU KNOW THERES RULES ON THE COUPONS!!" I said, "Oh! I thought I checked all my coupons and made sure they were for the right items!"...then she proceeded to make me feel like a criminal for coming in for a 2nd trip. I just told her that all the times they have done this event, I've checked with the customer service counter, not to mention that about 5 other casheirs in that store have told me its not a problem to come back in. I told her its fine and I won't come back in, but I would hope I'm not being given trouble for doing something that other people are allowed to do when other casheirs are working.

I don't go in more than once a day now at Cottleville, but at Jungerman I asked and they still said "SURE!"....even at deirbergs today I asked and they said "SURE!". My lession learned is ALWAYS ask first...that way there are no surprises. The cottleville incident was the first time I didn't ask when I was checking out the first time.

    3. Post about this on their FB page they will take care of the problem immediately. If you have the cashiers name they will talk with them directly. This happened my family and they jumped on top of it after it was brought up on Facebook

  60. As usual my last trip of doubles/triples week never goes well. Went to Schnucks and Dierbergs today, none of my coupons would scan at the self scanner at either store, and when I got home I saw that 2 of my items were expired - one of my Kraft mayos expired 6 months ago! This is now at least 5 times in the past 6 months that I've gotten expired items from Schnucks. I try to watch expirations dates in the store but I just cant check every item. On the bright side, my 3 day total was $17 for $117 worth :)

  61. I've found that a few things listed in the match ups were either no where in the stores I've been or a higher price. I didn't see a Kraft Mayo that was under $3 or the Juicy Juice under about $2.95.

Lots of stores are sold out of some of the great deals and I only found peelies on the Quaker things in the very back of a small display in 1 store. I was really excited to get granola bars for .38 a box! I got 4 so I can't complain about not getting more.

Also, I bought the Lucky Charms today and didn't get a catalina. Did anyone else get that to work?

    1. No Lucky Charms cat here either.

  62. Thank you so much for all of the work you put into these amazing match-ups!! I did six trips, spent just over $34, and saved 71% off sale prices or 83% off retail prices even with my 'splurge' on 4 bags of Ghirardelli chocolate and 4 cans of Planters cashews. Thanks again!

  63. Hi All - It sounds like everyone had a great three days of couponing, even with a few glitches.

I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted. I apologize if there was a comment I should have responded to and didn't. It's hard to keep up at time with so much going on.

I hope everyone considers dropping in on Schnucks or Dierbergs Facebook page and leaving a message of how much you saved or enjoyed Super Doubles.

  64. A big shout out to EVERYONE for your help/contributions.
It seems like gluttony to have so much in the way of food for just 3 people.

Over the 3 days I made out with:
    74 Items (7 transactions)
    Total $139.93 (before coupons)
    $32.30 + 2.47 Tax =$34.77 = 76% Savings

    1. Courtney - You should see how much I have for just one person! We are so blessed to have these coupon events and an abundance of food. Everyone remember to donate some if you can.

  65. Yeah CJ,

I did a BIG donation to the Salvation Army ARC back in Jan. Over $600 worth of food. I try donate quarterly. I tend to clear my shelves to the point that we lack staples to make meals here at home. When I bring my grocery donations, they always ask, do you have a store or something (this is all brand name stuff)? LOL

    1. Courtney - Great job!! I donated several bags to Kingdom House last month and have another box ready from this past week. There are always so many freebies that I dont want/need for myself so I'm happy to donate.

    2. Hi all, I am new to coupons. Actually this was my first "event". I always thought coupons took up way to much time. Last month my husband had to have emergency surgery and will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time so I decided to try to save money with coupons. I have to say I am very impressed with this site and what I was able to do in the three days. I only had one grouchy cashier. I talked to the store manager and he was very nice about it. The other cashiers were wonderful. .

I would like to get info on some places that accept food donations. While I didn't buy anything I wouldn't use this time. I did have the thought of getting extras and donating them. I know the post office does a food drive in May. I have access to a lot of computers (no I wasn't the mayo lady :). I have always been very blessed to have what we need and would love to help out those that need it. Any info is appreciated. Thanks Renee

  66. I have 2 different boxes of items that are going to be donated. I shopped knowing that I was going to do that so I got quite a bit more then I normally would. One box is going with a co-worker to Guatamela(sp?) where she is going to do a mission trip. The other is going to be split up between a few different places. One being a family friend who is on hard times. I kind of feel like the Easter Bunny...It's a GREAT feeling. I am also beyond tired!!!I'm not sure that I will have the energy to split the stuff up tonight.

  67. I typically donate to Angel Arms & Salvation Army ARC. You can Google each one & it tells you their mission statement (If you want to donate to a particular cause). HTH

  68. Renee - Welcome to the world of couponing. Sorry to hear about your husband and I hope he makes a quick recover and is back to work soon.

I find it best to find a organization close to your heart, or close to your location to donate to. St Louis Area Foodbank has a spot on their website where you can enter your zip code and find one of their partner organizations.

    http://www.stlfoodbank.org/GetHelp.aspx

You might also think about donating to on of the Ronald McDonald houses.

If you are in the City, one of Coupon STL readers - ArmyMomx2's husband is associated with a church in Soulard that has a food bank and I could connect you ups with her.
