    1. Hi Mary - They should have let use use 3 coupons. Here is what CVS's coupon policy states:

Two coupons may be used on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion as long as it does not exceed the item total

      Ex. Suave Shampoo is on sale for $2.00 Buy One, Get One Free and the customer is purchasing two shampoos;
customer may use two coupons for $1.00 each and pay the applicable tax.

Print a copy of the coupon policy and keep it with you when you shop.

    2. They said it was the managers discretion. I did send an email to cvs and they have not responded to me about it. I was not happy.

    3. Did you actually talk to the manager? If you did and that is their policy, I would find another CVS to shop at.

    4. Hi Mary, I was surprised to hear they would not let you. I have called and talked to CVS corporate in the past and they said as a company CVS is very coupon friendly and they are well aware they allow much more couponing freedom than their competitors....They do this on purpose, they WANT our business. She did tell me that some of the high shrink stores (stores that have problems with theft) will exercise a much more strict coupon policy that yes is at the managers discretion. The lady I talked to at corporate told me that if I run into that it very well may be one of these stores and she advised to maybe do my couponing at a store that I know does not have to be so strict. She apologized in advance to me in the case that I ever end up at one of those stores. I thought it was pretty interesting. I can understand the difference and It made me realize that 90% of the time CVS is about the best couponing out there, but just to keep in mind of the high shrink stores and how they may have to operate differently out of necessity. Not saying that this is the case at your store.....we all know that sometimes managers/casheirs get a power trip they shouldn't.....I think you did the right thing just in the case that this is a manager gone "awry"

    5. I am calling their corporate number tomorrow . I really doubt that it is a store with high theft. I think cvs should at least respond to my email as well. I only have one other cvs by me and it is out of my way to go to. I will see what they say over the phone to decide if I will ever shop there again.

    6. The good news is CVS is really expanding in the area. Hopefully you will have another location close to you soon.

    7. So I just got off the phone with cvs. They stated that it is not their policy to accept multiple coupons on free items. I read the online policy to them and they stated it was not their policy. I am no longer shopping at cvs. I was not happy with how their customer service handled this problem. I hope everyone else has a better time than I have.

    8. I spoke to cvs and they stated that it is not their policy to accept coupons on free items . I read the policy they have online and they said I was incorrect. I told them I will no longer shop at their stores as my couponing helps me save money and if they won't follow their online policy I will no longer be their customer.

    9. Okay now I am confused because I just found this online on the CVS Website under FAQs. http://www.cvs.com/help/contact-us-faqs.jsp?type=store&topicid=200018

      This says

      Q. Does CVS/pharmacy allow more than 1 coupon to be used per transaction?

      A. Yes. CVS/pharmacy allows ONE CVS/pharmacy and ONE third party manufacturer coupon per item. A transaction is defined as the entirety of purchases on a single receipt. ExtraBucks® Rewards coupons can be applied toward the final cost. Normal exclusions apply. See the bottom of the ExtraBucks® Rewards coupon for details.

Note: Coupons cannot be applied to a "free" item.

I wonder if this is a "new" policy, I know I have used coupons on free items at CVS before. I don't blame you for not wanting to shop at CVS anymore Mary. The prices are not at all reasonable unless there is a coupon involved.

I am going to try my local CVS tomorrow and see how it goes.

  2. Can you get 2 EUB's if you buy the number of needed products or is CVS like Walgreens where you would need to do a different transaction? Also, I just came back from OFallon CVS and they were out of the detergent and snuggle. A lady at the register bought 12 bottles. Disappointing but I was able to get a rain check.

    1. At CVS if the limit is more than one, you can buy them all in one transaction. However, the limit is often only one. Also if an item produces a $5 ECB, then buying two at once will earn a $10 ECB as opposed to 2 $5 ECBs. I find it much easier to deal with the smaller amount ECBs, since you don't need fillers at CVS.

  3. So I went to the Wentzville CVS this morning and I was able to use 6 coupons on 6 bottles of Wisk. The cashier told me that you can use one manufacturer coupon per item not to exceed the total # of items. She said they have always accepted coupons for the free items on the B1G1 or 2 sales. They are giving rain checks that don't expire for the Wisk if it's not in stock. Thank you for the heads up Mary as I will not be shopping the Ofallon CVS since they don't want to comply with the company policy.
