ReplyDeleteHi Lynn - Nope, I haven't heard anything. I'm beginning to wonder if we will ever see them again, but I also thought that about SNS $10 off $50 and they are now running that promotion about once a month again.
DeleteIm beginning to wonder if Schnucks didn't do the doubling and tripling for the Holiday season. It started right before Thanksgiving and then seemed to end right around Easter. Crossing my fingers to see anything pan out for Memorial Day

DeleteThey obviously can't speak for upper management, but a couple of the "regular" Schnucks employees that I know are of the impression that the coupon specials might still be going on today if not for the identity theft brouhaha. Schnucks has been getting slaughtered in the media and I don't know if this is across the board or only at select locations, but sales are down by crazy margins. You'd think that offering super doubles or triples might be a great way to lure back shoppers, but maybe not.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how quickly there can be reversals of fortune in the grocery game. Just a few months ago some friends and relatives who work at Shop 'n Save weren't sure how much longer the store would be around and now they're starting to feel more hopeful about the future right as the Schnucks employees are getting angry and depressed. Shop 'n Save has definitely stepped up its game under new management, in part to capitalize on the opportunities created by the Schnucks fiasco. It's interesting that so far Dierbergs hasn't done much of anything besides halt their own coupon promotions, but then Dierbergs primarily courts a more upscale demographic that's going to shop there regardless of price.

DeleteI too agree that SNS seemed dead in the water back in Dec & Jan., but have stepped it up a bunch. Super Coupons gave Schnucks such great buzz, I can't believe they have continued Super Coupons on a regular basis through the credit card fiasco.
Old Orchard frozen concentrate is 10/10 -- there was (is?) a printable for $1 off 4.
