  1. I live right across from Walgreens. I'm sorry but I just can't handle the Balance Rewards Program at Walgreens. There are some trips I score but that is becoming less and less. Many of the Register Rewards items are things I don't need. It's great if you are one who benefits every single week on those. Then, the bonus points, what a headache, a 3rd thing to try to keep up when being rang up. I have to wait until the transaction is ttly rang b4 I can check to make sure I've gotten all that my math has took me to there. Every cashier has been wonderful, so it's not that. It's just that in the last 7 weeks, on 3 different times, I came out paying $60 when I added up $25 or so. I studied Algebra so I know I'm not stupid. Now, when I deduct the overpriced items at Walgreens to the alreadly lowered price items at the non-drug stores, then add the coupons to those prices...now I'm coming out with $50 of product for about $30, now I'm savings. I felt like a fool when the other day I ran to Walgreens at 11:30 Sunday so I could get the Maybelline sale before it went off. (Walgreens only has this particular, (not a regular) twice a year. Used my coupopns on my not even a BOGO anymore, Buy 1 get 50% (geez, what another hit in the stomach) and do you know I came out at exactly the same price at Schnucks without jogging from the car...without a Buy 1 get...without any stress! I just handed the coupons and got the same exact deal and I didn't even need a Balance Reward card or have to look at my receipt to check if I got the points. If walgreens mission is to lose all of their serious couponers, well they have succeded with me. I've been couponing for 3 yrs now. I now go to Family Dollar (lower priced, coupons gets it for you for free or at most $1 or $2...Schnucks, Walmart and even Shop n Save has sales now on their beauty items. Does anyone think like this, I can't be the only one. Debra D.

    1. I'm with you ^^^^^ I started couponing last year and keep thinking I would finally buy in (literally) to the drug store game but I just can't. For now I am happy with triples and family dollar like you. I see other people get great things but..... nah. not for me :) Samantha

    2. Hi Debra & Samantha - I sure don's shop at Walgreens like I did a few years ago. Have either of you tried shopping at CVS. I've never had problems at CVS.

    3. I only shop at 1 Walgreens and it's only because of the cashier in the beauty department. I know her schedule and only go when she is there. I have tried other stores and it always turns into a nightmare. Jeri's right CVS is easy to coupon at.

    4. I dont shop at Walgreens as much as I used to. Now I just pick and choose a few deals and make small transactions and get an occasional RR. I usually get up to 18,000 BR points 2-3 times a year, so thats $40-$60 back. Thats good enough for me. I still have a decent stockpile from the good ol' days of Walgreens so I dont need much now.
