My Target cashier today wouldnt let me use the $1 Target General Mills cereal coupons for the single serving Lucky Charms cups. That seems to work better for me when I use the express line and get a young female cashier. The older female cashiers at the regular registers seem to be a bit crankier about coupons. But I did get 2 Glade soy candles, a Bounce dryer bar and Kotex liners for free and Starkist tuna pouches for .50 each so it was a good trip.
ReplyDeleteCJ - I avoid any cashier that looks to be about my age. They tend to be the old cranky ones. I shop at the "Escalator Target" on Hampton and havent' had any problem using GM ceral coupons. I'm lovin Target lately with all the freebies.
ReplyDeleteDitto to CJ. I had a very nice cashier but the coupon beeped and she wouldn't push it through. Of course, then my Kotex coupons beeped too and there was a picture of the liners right on the coupon, so she did push those through.
ReplyDeleteBUMMER for me too! I was "a bit" unlucky with my "cashier shopping" at Hampton Target last Saturday. ALL Qs for Tide, Bounty, Charmin, Dove chocolates and Kotex beeped. Cash register's monitor said "items not found" (duh?! :I ). Cashier didn't let me use the Tide, Bounty and Charmin Qs but pushed through with the Dove chocos and Kotex Qs. I was disappointed but I remain nice to her as I let her "void" (take out) the Tide, Bounty and Charmin items. Darn, I really wish I will always be lucky with my "cashier shopping" which when I do this and my husband is with me, he finds it so amusing and would describe each cashier's look! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been lucky lately at the Hampton Target using coupon - even the ones that beep. I try to use only 10 or 12 coupons in a transaction. I can see the cashier's (even the coupon friendly ones) patience running thin at about 10 coupons.
ReplyDeleteI'm close enough and don't have little ones to drag along with me when I go shopping, so I tend to go often to Target and purchase not too many items at a time. I know that's not always possible for others.
Have you guys talked to a Customer Service Manager to get their opinion about if the cashiers should be accepting these coupons?
I have not had the guts to ask the Customer Service people about these coupons because I think they won't let me use the coupons also since most of these Qs are equal or more than each item's price the reason why the cash registers beep. :( I guess this "scenario" is always up to the cashier if she is going to push it through or not and up to the "couponer's" lucky stars! :I
ReplyDeletecoupon.girl - A lot of coupons beep at Target even without overage. Target corporate coupon guidelines is they don't give overage, but I don't think that most of the cashiers have been instructed how to adjust the coupon value.
ReplyDeleteOverage is nice, but I never expect it. If the coupon does not have restrictions and I'm purchasing a product that follows the wording on the coupon, I expect them to honor the coupon guidelines and accept the coupon for the value of the product.
I understand if you not comfortable asking Cusotmer Service about the coupons. Your mother taught you well :) - if its too good to be true it is. But in the couponing world I'm not sure that is always true.
Yeah, its just uncomfortable for me to ask about the Qs and I understand what you mean. My mother also taught me to "try and try again until I succeed". I might try to use the Qs again before they expire. Good luck to me! hehehe...:)
ReplyDeleteThe 24 oz. bags of Chef Michael's Canine Creations dry dog food are $4.49 regular price. Take off $1.50 Target coupon and $3 coupon from RP 8/23 and it's free.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you happen to do this deal with the B1G1 wet dog food deal, the B1G1 manufacturer's coupon scans and takes off $4.49 instead of $0.89. This has happened to me twice. The first time many of my other coupons did not come off, so it made up for it.
1 - 24 oz. dry food $4.49
2 - wet dog food .89 x 2
$6.27
-$3 manufacturer's coupon
-$1.50 Target coupon
-$4.49 B1G1
-$0.89 Target B1G1
Overage of $3.61
Of course, the cashier will have to push all of these coupons through as the register beeps on almost all of them. Not sure how ethical this is, but I'm not going to argue with a cashier when I don't have to.
Oh and does EVERYONE shop at the Hampton Target?!
ReplyDeleteI never agrue with a cashier either when I don't have to. I try to be very friendly - it goes a long way to making my expierence better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on the dry dog food. I missed that one. I'll add it to next weeks deals.
I don't know if all of us shop at Hamtpon, but I think a lot of people who read my blog do.
