ReplyDeleteThere are some "National" Catalina deals. Some are just for ShopNSave, Some just for Walgreens, etc. We still don't have a SURE way to check on these, but many of us can usually figure it out. Sure looks like the same deal to me though.

Liz - Dierbergs and SNS (per their 50% internet coupon policies) will only take the $2 Tidy Cat coupon on bags priced over $4, so it wont work on the 10 lb bags. Walmart sells the 10 lb bags for $1.77 and will give cash back for the difference. Schnucks should take it, their small bags cost around $2.19. Target and Petsmart only sell the larger bags as far as Ive seen. So Walmart is the best place to use the $2 coupon. Can you tell I buy a lot of litter? :) (prices are for the regular clay litter, I dont know prices of the clumping kind)

I thought one of the CATs was for plates possibly Solo or Dixie, I can't remember, but it was buy 2, get $1, do you know if it is like last year's CAT deal and goes up as you buy more (last year was B3G$3 or B4$G$4). Anyways, I can update tomorrow once I get that list from my mom.
OH ALSO, I found peelie's on some of the razors for a free shave cream/gel, so that is gonna be great to put in with the energizer deal!
I also am new to coupons. This is my first week. I want to make sure I got this right though, if I break up my list into two separate purchases with all the catalina items on the first one, I can then use the $10 off reward as well as the $10 off $50 on my second purchase? That sounds too good to be true!

John - You've got it! Let's say you purchase 10 Kraft items and $25 worth of Energizer products totaling $50 in your first transaction, receive $10 off of that purchase plus whatever MQs you have. You will receive a $5 and a $10 cat. On you second txn you will get $10 off plus use your $5 and $10 cats and that will bring your second txn down to $25. Any manufacturer's Qs that you use will further reduce that balance.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have any Entertainment Books Qs and you regularly shop at SNS, I would highly recommend getting your hands on one or more. The books are discounted right now and if you buy through one of the online rebate sites (ebates, fatwallet, shop at home) you can likely get one for $10 or less. It is well worth it!

The mid-size packs are $5.37, so I will be buying 5 at a time for $27.35, using 5 Qs (either insert or tearpad) and receiving $10 cat. I figure it comes out to $0.83 per pack (2 pk 9V, 4 pk C or D, 10 pk AA or AAA). Planning to do this 3 times. =)

This promotion is not printing at sns. Talked to manager and he said there is an issue with Catalina regarding the energizer promotion. My coupon buddy and myself did the deal and neither printed!

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to pop in and let you know there are signs (about 8 x 10) posted at the stores I shop in several places regarding the Energizer Promo-I saw the SD placing them around the store on Monday so all Management should have received the same information/signs. I must say I am relieved to hear it isn't printing! I thought I was out-of-luck. CS tried to re-ring all the Playtex bottle liners and we concluded that they were not included in the promo. Now, I have a chance they are included - just not programmed. Off to make a phone call :)

I asked if it was possible that it just wasn't showing in his computer because it wasn't programmed yet. He never really adequately answered my question and told me to check with the store.

ReplyDeleteBroke my purchase into 3 transactions so I took my girlfriend with me.
She stuck to my list and got everything right. However, I didn't specify a few things, like which flavors. So I didn't get a few choices I like, but most importantly, no $10 energizer catalina. But I'm glad to see here, that wasn't my fault.
The worst part, she ended up receiving all the accolades from the cashier for her smart shopping. LOL, "she" saved just over 50%! I had the couponless necessities on my list.
I'll just have to tweek transaction #3 before I head off again!
I just started collecting coupons Sunday night. I bought one paper and rescued a few abandoned (and soggy) suburban journals from the neighborhood Monday and Tuesday. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this without the info and help I received here! Thank you all so very much!

I bought these items instead of others just for the Catalina reward. I could of used $25 of anything other than batteries, wet wipes, and shave gel!
So, it appears Shop n Save dropped the ball, and Catalina doesn't want to get it's hands dirty, who else has a vested interest in this and can make it right?
Did anyone contact Energizer corporate? I know this isn't their fault, but it is their promotion. Hints of mass refunds and boycotts are bad for bussiness. Plus, if they don't want to get involved, the Attorney General might!

The real start date of the offer is suppose to be 5/28.
So you could try to make them make it right, or return your items and rebuy them next week.
I'm not sure what SNS policy is for returns on a $10 off $50 Thursday, but it is common practice at most stores to return the shelf price when you used a coupons. They are still submitting the coupon for reimbursement.
Went to the new sns on highway K in ofallon last night and I also did not get the Catalina and no one new that it existed. I called sns corporate and they said there were some problems but they have worked them out and the catalina should work now. They also took my info and said they would have Catalina send me my $10 coupon since I did not receive last night. They are suppose to call me back if there is more info needed. I will keep you posted.

I simply called the store director at the Lemay SnS (my local SnS) and explained my situation to her. She told me to bring in my receipt and they would ring up some items and print out my coupon for me. I won't be waiting 2 weeks for Catalina to send mine in the mail.
ReplyDeleteShe also said they pulled the signs down 3-4 days ago and tried to place the blame on Catalina for all this. The most intesting thing she told me was it only caused problems for followers of one coupon blog website.
I think it's safe to say, this is where the smartest and most savvy shoppers are!

NO! She chose her words very carefully! But it was clear, shop n Save wasn't admitting fault. And I was only talking to the Store Director. "Catalina didn't progam it" and "It doesn't start until the 28th" were statements made to me!

However, she did say, "The signs were pulled 3-4 days ago." I can read between the lines! That statement means they pulled the signs on the 23rd or 24th, and is an admission of fault without saying we shouldn't have put them out in the first place.
Regardless, they are fixing it. I went and got my $10 of next trip coupon last night. However, when I went to the courtesy counter and told them why I was there, the two ladies there both started laughing. They did take care of me, but I wondered what those ladies had actually been told about this situation.
