Walgreens Deal - Week of 10/11/09

Sale prices good October 11 - 17, 2009

You can pick up toothpaste, mouthwash and cold medicine fairly cheaply this week at Walgreens, but I make it a policy to never pay for these items. Sometimes, I won't even bring them home unless they are money-makers.

But, I will take advantage of some other deals this week. My favorites: Campbell's cream soups - .30, Maxwell House Coffee -$1.99 and Energizer batteries - $1.25 per 4-pack.

Remember, you can roll Register Rewards. Take a look at Quick Tip - Using Walgreens Register Rewards.

I highlight only the best deals. Take a look at Walgreens' full ad here. (available on Sunday)

  1. My free Energizer batteries rang up at 4.99 and then "-4.99 GIFT". I dont think you can use a coupon or RR on the free batteries. I thought my coupon-to-item ratio was right but had to buy a filler to in order to use all my coups and RRs. Somthing strange happened though - I used Halls as my filler, used a $1 Halls RR to pay and still got a $1 Halls RR back.

  2. Totally rocked Walgreens today and rolled a lot of RRs. Got two packs of Huggies, 4 Quaker oatmeals and various clearance items for fillers. $0.54 OOP! Also got $9 in RR. Original total was $30+.

Be on the lookout for boxes of oatmeal with $4 of Quaker coupons inside. They don't expire until 12/31/2010!

  4. Can anyone confirm if the Emergen-C Booster RR is still printing this week/month? I need to roll a RR that would expire tomorrow. Thanks a lot.

  5. This past Saturday, he store at Southwest and Kingshighway still had a Emergen-C booster display and product. The dispaly says the RR deal is good until around the end of the month. I don't exactly remember the exact date, but very late in the month.

  6. The Crestwood store also has the display still up as of yesterday, including the Emergen-C. I've heard the monthly deals are good through Oct 31 since the month ends on a Saturday.

  7. Thanks CJ for knowing the exact ending date.

  8. thanks so much...I really missed your $5 scenario this week, but know how much we appreicate all your hard work putting this together for us.

  9. Emergen-C is still printing. I just got back from Wags b/c I had a RR about to expire. There were no signs for the Emergen-C or Chapstick, but both still printed just fine.

  10. Melissa - It sounds like you weren't able to find this week's scenario. I left the Walgrees label of my post, sorry. I've fixed it. And thanks for the kind words.

  11. Staci - Thanks for the update. I'm impressed you found Chapstick. I haven't seen any since the day the RR deal started.

  12. Having a few $8 RR to loop in the next few days, I came up with this plan today

    (2) #45 Ecotrins @$3.59
    (1) Fresh Hall $1.00
    (1) #120 Oscal Tablets $9.99
    (1) Gillete MVP Razor $8.99

    Coupon usage

$10.00/3 Advantage Brand products (shorted a penny)
    $.75 Halls
    $4.00 P&G
    $8.00 RR

    $4.83 w/tax and a $6, $3 and $1 new RR

  13. kas - Great scenario. Thanks for sharing.

  14. The Dentek 55 yd roll floss is a month long RR. There was even a sign in the aisle. (I stress 55 yd, because there is also a 50 yd that is not part of the deal.)

I picked it up this morning for $2 and got a $2RR. There was also a $1 coupon in 10/11 SS making this a $1 MM.

Floss has now been added to my list of things I don't have to pay for!

  15. I forgot to mention I hit the jackpot with Catalina coupons. I received $1.50 off Tresemme, $1 off Colgate MaxWhite, and $1.50 off Speed Stick. All with long expiration dates.

  16. em - Thanks for the DenTek info. I wrote a new post with the inro and included it in my weekly deal post. You did hit the jackpot with Cats. You should be able to turn those into money-makers!

  17. Jeri - I have found the Chapstick in several different places in the stores I have been to. Some have had a display with several of the RR items all together in one place, some I have found where all of the lip balm items are located, and some I have found on the side of an endcap where there has been a smaller selection of lip balms. There may still be some out there, you just have to search for it. ;-)

  18. Yesterday at the Grandview store I found a tear pad of MQ for $.50 off the Hall Refresh by the cough drop rack. Each box of 45# Ecrotrins was a dime cheaper than what I paid in the city.

    ReplyDelete
  19. kas - Thanks for the heads up on teh Halls coupon.

I'm not suprised the Grandview store's Ecotrin was cheaper than the city stores. The three stores on Kingshighway (Southwest, Arsenal, Chippewa) are within about a mile and a half of each other. I've seen three different prices on the same product between the three stores.

Walgreens isn't the only chain store to have different price points in the area. Target does this also.
