Aldi Price Check - Milk, Eggs + More

July 18, 2010

I didn't find any produce at that bottom dollar price this week at Aldi. $1.49 for strawberries is a good price, but when they were priced at .79 last week, they seem expensive.

I never get the Aldi ad at my house. I know my county friends get an ad mid-week. It will be interesting to see what Aldi advertises for their "Produce Picks" this week.

If you haven't shopped at Aldi, or it has been a while:
1. Make sure you have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. The carts are like luggage carts at the airport. You rent them for a quarter, and you get your quarter back when you return the cart.
2. Take your own bags. Aldi does not provide free bags for your groceries.
3. Aldis now accepts debit cards.
4. Aldis does not accept coupons

If you buy something at Aldi you are not please with, they have a double guarantee. If for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with any product, they will replace the product AND refund your money. More info HERE.

  2. Hi Veggiemom - Thanks! The ad I was looking for was for the local produce prices. I know some areas of the St Louis area get an Aldi ad each week with the "produce picks" prices. They change produce prices on Sunday, but the ad doesn't come out until sometime mid-week.

  3. Eggs are .99 at the Maplewood Aldi. I got the strawberries for $1.49, got them home and found most of them were squishy rotten and fuzzy moldy. I'll return them and never will buy produce there again. Everytime I buy produce there I'm not happy with it.

  4. Hi CJ - Oh my! I wonder if some Aldi locations turn produce over quicker, and end up with a fresher supply. I didn't buy strawberries at my store this week, but I haven't had that problem with the produce.

I wouldn't continue to buy produce at Aldi either if that is what I was seeing.
