  1. No that there is a list! This is my favorite time of year for grocery shopping!

The kicker for me is that my kids are all in school for the morning on Thursdays but this week I have a parent/teacher meeting right smack dab in the middle of the morning.

So if you see someone in a blur running through the store that will be me...

  2. Good Morning to All,

I agree Marcella-That is some list you put together Jeri-Thanks a million for the hard work. =)

I will be doing some double cking on things today and start putting coupons to lists.

    Have a Great Day.

  3. Ok I have a question. Now say I buy 10 kraft cheeses and 10 cream cheeses in the same transaction, will I get 2 catalinas?
    TThanks Danyelle

  4. Anybody know which grocery store has the best turkey price? It's hard to tell from the ad if there is a purchase requirement at S&S, but i assume that there is.

  5. Hi All - It is some list this week. I've been working on it for days. Thanks, Janet for the sneak peek.

Hi Danyelle - I don't know at this point if the Kraft Catalina will trigger 2 coupons in the same transaction. Hopefully, we will know before Thursday.

I like to roll my Catalina coupons. Split your purchases into two transactions and use the first Catlina to help pay for the second purchase of Kraft products.

  6. Hi Danyelle,

To my knowledge Kraft has not stacked in the past. But it does not state in the ad that it is a limit of one per transaction. Someone may have to test it or call and verify.

    Hi Jen,

I will be cking out the purchase requirements today to SNS and will post if no one has found out yet.

    =)

  7. Hi Jeri,

You know I got that huge smile on my face just thinking about Thursday. ;) Gonna be a fun day. And your welcome =)

  8. For the Kraft Cat deal, the SNS I shop at had some $1/2 Kraft cheese (shreds, slices, or block) and $1/2 oscar mayer lunch meat tearpad coupons at the CS desk. They expire 11/30 and were attached to each other. If you are heading to SNS early to do some price checking and these Kraft items are on your list it might be worth asking the CS folks if they have any.

  9. Hi All Again - I've emailed my contact at SNS with the questions about Kraft Catalina and Turkey prices.

Purchase requirement for the special price on turkey excludes: frozen turkey purchase and the normal other exclusions - milk, giftcard, beer, wine, spirts .....

  10. Question on the Chex cereal? Does anyone know how this works as far as the free boxes? Will they ring up at $2.50 then become "free" when the cashier hits the total button? I'm trying to calculate my $50 in items before coupons. THANKS!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Jeri,
What is the special price on turkey you are referring to? I did look at the ad on the coupon trader section and couldn't see it there either. It's entirely possible that the 5 kids hovering over me are preventing me from seeing it so I apologize if it is obvious. Thanks!
    Carrie

  12. @Jamie R.

Thanks, Jamie! I'll be asking about those coupons.

  13. @Jeri

Hi KeithsKelly - In the past when SNS has a Instant Savings deal, the savings doens't come off until the cashier hits the total button. So, you CAN include the FREE item in your $50 purchase requirement.

Hopefully, they haven't changed the programing on the registers.

  14. @audannava

Hi audannava - It wasn't you and the kids that missed the Turkey prices. They weren't in the ad and are only getting posted at the stores later today.

SNS emailed me the prices and I just posted them to my blog.

  15. @Anonymous

Danyelle - I heard back from SNS. The Kraft Catalina is one per transaction.

  16. Thanks Jeri! I thought I was losing my marbles. :) I know others have said it but: thanks for the SNS matchup. Awesome as usual!

  17. I just ran to SNS real quick. The price of Wonder Wheat Bread is $1.98.
Also the birds eye steam veggies were .78, not the $1.00 in the ad. This was at the Kirkwood Store.

Jeri - Thanks for the match ups.

  18. Can I use a $5 coupon from the entertainment book on $10 off $50 day?

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Megan
The bread was 1.92, not 1.98. The Candian Bacon was 1.98

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Kirstin

Hi Kristen - Yes, spend right at $50 on a $10 off $50 Thursday and use a $5/$10 coupon from the Entertainment book. Makes for a $35 total before you use any other coupons.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @Megan

Thanks, Megan - Looks like they are matching Schnucks price on Birds Eye.

I'm brain dead after doing all these match ups. Which brand of Candian Bacon?

    ReplyDelete
  22. On the new Entertainment Book $5 coupons it states they are not good with any other discounts/promotions. The old ones did not say that. Do you think some stores will refuse them?

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Jeri

I’m sorry Jeri, I didn’t included the brand name in my comment about the Canadian Bacon. It’ is Hormel Canadian Bacon for $1.98. It’s located by the pepperoni in the refrigerated section. A few weeks ago I printed a coupon for $1.50 any Hormel Canadian Bacon. This will make for a great deal on Thursday!

  24. I did some price checking today at the Arnold SnS. The Triscuits and Wheat Thins were $1.78 instead of the $2 in the ad.

  25. Hi All,

Just cking in and wanted to let you know I noticed a price adjustment today on the Kraft Parmesan Cheese-Signs posted saying price was $2.88 instead of $3.28. HTH

  27. As mentioned above be careful when planning a trip. SNS is dropping some prices lower than their ad to match other stores ads. I was jsut informed this also by a friend who works at SNS. It may affect your planning for Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Jeri

Thanks, Jeri! Looks like I'll be reworking my scenarios!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Good Morning to All,

Also wanted to mention regarding the purchase of Wheat Bread-the black and white ad has a coupon for Free Wheat Bread(up to $2) wyb 2 ICBINB. The ICBINB is running 2/$5.

Also when it comes to any price changes on Thursday if it is a few cents I will toss in a banana or two to make up the difference.

  30. If anyone does a price check at SNS, will they please check the price of Marcelal Small Steps Napkins? I have my $1 coupon that I am hoping I can use.
    TIA!

  31. @Megan
Could some one also check the price of the Minute Miad Prue Squeezed OJ 59 oz bottle (the one in the clear plastic bottle)

    Thank you!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi All - Thanks for all of the additional info. It's going to be a wild week keeping up with all of the price changes.

I'm heading to SNS later today to do a price check. I've put on my list anything mentioned. Is there anything else anyone wants price checked?

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Kirstin

Hi Kristen - There was a $10 off $50 Thursday ealier in the month. I didn't shop that one, but I know others did and I haven't heard of any problems using the new $5 off $50 coupon.

  34. Does anyone know if they carry the Kerrygold Irish Butter? I have a free coupon. I can 't seem to get my totals as low as I used too. I need to find those Kraft coupons! TIA

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow, what a list! I'm trying to throw together a list of what to pick up at which stores this week.. each one has the best price on different things! (Though I wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 of them adjust to the same!)

    ReplyDelete
  36. If anyone is price checking and could check the following items I would appreciate it:
    -Single yoplait cups
-country bob all purpose sauce (13oz)
    -wholly guac
    -international delight pints

    TIA

  37. I would love a price check on Baker's bar products. I have q's for $1 off wyb Philly cream cheese, jell-o, and Baker's.

Also do they price match everything? I see better prices on c&h sugar, planter's peanuts, Campbell's soups, etc

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Kely

Hi Kely - I've never heard fo Kerrygold Irish Butter (but it sounds good). I wouldn't expect to find that at SNS. The are carring fewer & fewer brands.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Megan

I checked for Marcal Small Steps Napkins when I did my price check yesterday, and my store doesn't carry them any more.

I've used that Marcal coupon at SNS for at least a couple of years. Now, I'll have to figure out if any other store carries them.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi All - I've posted a price check, but I didn't check on the items mentioned. If I get back, I'll check for you and add them to the Price Check post.

    $1.34
    -.35 SNS coupon
    -.27 coupon Thursday
Will the cost on Thursday be $.72?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think Stove Top is actually $.88. It is one of the items price adjusted down. So it would be about $.704 on Thursday

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi All,

JB is correct the Stove Top is $.88 and the Campbells Gravy is $.37. I just got off the phone with the WR store to verify.

  47. I bought a $100 gift card at Shop 'n Save and received a Catalina worth $5 on a gas gift card. I also received information about purchasing $100 worth of gift cards and getting a $20 Catalina for Shop 'n Save. The participating gift cards are Applebee's, iTunes, jcpenney, Lowe's, Macy's, Regal, AMC Theatres, Sears, K-Mart, Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, Nike, TGIFriday's, Amazon, Brinker (Chili's), California Pizza Kitchen, DSW, Office Max, and Outback Steakhouse. The offer is valid 11/21 - 12/4. If I remember correctly, last year the Catalinas had a week expiration date.

  48. ::::WARNING::::
I went early this morning to the Crestwood SNS and they wouldn't let me check out twice. I went in once, got my things, checked out and dropped it in the car. Went back in and got a second round and they wouldn't even let me go up to the cashier.

So, they have changed the rules and if someone plans on doing more than one trip (which I suspect most will) you need to go to a different cashier. My problem is that no one was in the store and their was only one cashier so I had no choice...nor did I think it would be a problem in the first place.

I'm not sure how much time has to elapse before it can be considered a "different visit" but people need to be careful.

Also another woman stopped me and asked if I tried to get bacon. She had 3 of the bacon coupons and they wouldn't let her use them. I don't know if many people will do that or not but incase you are planning no using more than one they won't let you.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi Marcella,

I am sorry to hear you had such a terrible shopping trip this morning. If it was me, I would talk directly to the Store Director and ask him/her about the "Per Visit" and explain to him/her what you had tried to do and get their verification.

Now on the Oscar Mayer bacon Q-sounds like that store could use some education. To my knowledge the coupon is a MQ and does not state "one per transaction". When I placed an order with the Store Director for the bacon I was asked what "the deal" was and explained it exactly-he did not bat an eye at my future usage of the OM bacon Qs. And if anyone has a problem using them at the register-I would call over the SD or call SNS Corp.

I have heard of some very bad coupon usage lately and this may cause the cashiers to ck out our coupons better.

I am hoping things go smoothly for all today and my thoughts are with the SNS employees-they are going to be working very hard today to get everyone in and out in a timely manner, I would not want to be in their shoes today.

    Happy Shopping to All

  50. I went early this morning and was pretty pleased, saved 52%. I was a little annoyed that they were out of the HJ boxed potatoes hope they restock for their busy day. I guess the best way to get around the more than one trip deal is to go at different times of the day. If I get time this afternoon I will be going again.

    ReplyDelete
  51. KC - thanks for the heads up on the $100 gift cards deal! This is perfect - and just in time for Xmas!

    ReplyDelete
  52. OMG Marcella that's crazy! I went closer to 9 & there were 3 registers open at Crestwood & I used 2 bacon coupons in both of my transactions! I even asked the tall dark haired guy who usually is at Customer Service since he was my checker if I could go a 2nd time & he said yes not a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Has anyone taking a good look at the $1.25 of 3 that we can use on the cream cheese that was available a little while back. Mine does not have the long bar code, it only has the little bar code? I am not sure if SNS will take it.

    ReplyDelete
  54. There is a sign up at Fenton saying the Durkee onions should actually be $2.96. Anyone else encountering this? Had a terrible experience with them today and they are also out if bacon.

    ReplyDelete
  55. @Kim

Kim, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience at the Fenton store today. I did 2 transactions at the Fenton Store and both of them went smoothly. I checked out 6 and 6:30 this morning. At 6:30 they had 3 lanes open and they were getting ready to open a 4th lane.

    ReplyDelete
  56. My mistake. That's how flustered I was. Was at Twin Oaks! :0) Schnucks was so much better!

    ReplyDelete
  57. When at the Fenton store she did not want to take my 5 off 50 coupon. She had to call cs service to see if it was okay. She told me that the cashiers have been getting written up for taking bad coupons.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Once at the O'Fallon store the cashier told me if she is the only cashier, I cannot do another transaction with her even if I unload and come back because they watch on camera and she'll get in trouble. It's really no problem...I just go to another, but just FYI. Also, today the cashier wouldn't accept my coupon with the short barcode either. She said since they didn't have the long barcode it won't scan (I knew this) and they can't type them in. Not sure how true that is!

What is the SNS email with coupons people are talking about? Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Good Morning to All,

Wowza!!!! It seemed to me it was a Black Friday/Thursday for SNS. Most times the ck out lines had 6-7 people deep. I saw carts Loaded with items. Hope it was a good day for SNS. =)

With my first trip in, I stopped the SD to ask a couple of questions, it was immediately brought to my attention that there are Counterfeit Free Honeysuckle Turkey IPs floating around. This is what I DO NOT LIKE about dishonest couponers and this is why All of our coupons will be cked out thoroughly. If you are serious about couponing and have a good relationship with the store you shop things are easier.

I was able to use 15 of the OM Bacon Qs 5 at a time in a transaction. The cashier I had was properly trained on how to enter in the Kraft -$1.25/3 with the new barcodes. If we have trouble it only helps to bring it to the attention of the SD if we let things go the inexperienced cashiers will stay inexperienced and continue to pass on bad information to the shopper.

I had a great day even with crowded lanes etc. I planned for the extra time it was gonna take and had to leave to go to work and then return to finish my shopping. I saw my share of Grumpy shoppers who should have stayed home. I saw shoppers who were clueless as to why there were sooooo many shoppers in the store on one day. I kept my smile on and hopefully passed that smile onto a few of them shoppers with some kind words.

Guess it comes down to-I am proud to be a couponer cuz I do it the only way I know-Honestly. Maybe I should put that on the back of a t-shirt =)

Now I got a question-Anyone want to guess how much I gave for my 19.97 lb Honeysuckle Turkey??? And do you want to see the total list? LMK

    ReplyDelete
  60. I want to know, Janet, and see your list also!!!

I did three transactions and after coupons/rebates I spent about $58. Could have used another $5 SNS coupon, but ran out.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I haven't used and don't have yet any of the new $5 off $50 SnS coupon from the EB. Ms. Janet, where did you buy yours and how much did you pay for them? I checked at Ebay just for the coupons, but I find them expensive. :(

Thanks in advance and I also wanna know how much you paid for your turkey. :)

  62. Great deal online right now through Entertainment Book. They are on sale and then go through Ebates to get 45% back. Works out to a little over $15 when you buy two (per book). Not sure when the sale and Ebates discount expires.

  63. Good Morning to All,

Sorry to be MIA it has been a long weekend. But all worth it.

I have some plans ready for this week also but not with as big a savings. Just wish I could have done more trips last Thursday. There is always next time.

Ok so now onto that list and turkey price.

    Special orders for last Thursday:

30 lbs Oscar Mayer Thick Cut Bacon
    96 Cans Libbys vegies
    200 cans V8

    11 20 oz Cokes
    4 Duncan Hines cake mixes
1 Marie Collanders Dutch Apple Pie
    20 Philly Cream Cheese
    2 Celery
    2 Edys Ice Creams
    1 Reynolds oven bags
    1 SNS pie crust
    1 Hautly Cheese Stick
    1 Hershey Almond Bar
    2.7 lbs Sweet Potatos
    1 jar Clauseen Pickles
    1 HM Stuffing
    1 Tic Tac
    1 JJs Lemon Pie

Does not seem like such a big list but turned out to 8 transacations and my main objective was that turkey and bacon.

    Sooooooooo

    I started with a $5 P&G Cat
    Used $53.38 on SNS GCs
    $.43 Tax

    Total of 358 items
    Total saving per receipts: $544.66
    91 % savings average

    Ended with 2 x $5 Kraft Cats

Total spent divided by 358 total items =

    $.15 per item

Sooooooooo that turkey cost $.15 and who could pass up $.15 per lb for Oscar Mayer Bacon? Not me.

    Hi coupon.girl,

I have an arrangement with a past E*** seller to buy the EB Qs in bulk =) HTH

Its gonna be another busy week. I have to pick up 84 more cans of vegies and some Capri Sun.

Hope Everyone has a Great Week. =)

  64. @Janet

Wow! Amazing as always. Thanks for sharing you shopping trip. I love how you broke it down to final price per item.

Any idea on when we might see the next $10 off $50? I'm trying to figure out when's the best time to buy my giftcards.

    ReplyDelete
  65. As always, much thanks for all the tips, Ms. Janet! :)

Wish I can shop and save that way! :)

Am with Ms. Jeri with the GC deals, please do tell us as soon as you know and can when is the next Coupon Thursday. TIA. :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. @coupon.girl

Hi coupon.girl - I have no insider knowledge when the next $10/$50 is. But, I did look back in the archives to see when they had them last year - 9th and 16th.

So, if SNS follows last year's pattern, we might expect $10/$50s on the 8th & 15th. But, that's only my guess.

If I buy any gift card for the Catalina, I'm going to put it off until the 4th, unless we are reall lucky and get a $10/50 on the 1st. But, I don't think that will happen.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks, Ms. Janet! :)

Got another question, can we use SnS Gift Cards to buy any of these $100 gift cards? Do you know the SnS policy about this? TIA.

Already sent an e-mail to Valerie (SnS Customer Relations). Still waiting for her reply.

    ReplyDelete
  68. @coupon.girl

I've heard the policy is that you can't use a SNS gift card to pay for another gift card, but I've also heard some people have been allowed to.
