Aldi Produce Picks - Week of 11/13/11

November 13 - November 19, 2011

Even a better price on Butter this week at my Aldi - $1.89, and cream cheese is still $.89. These are definitely stock up prices.  Hopefully you'll find the same prices at the store you shop.

Every week, Aldi has 4 to 6 Produce Picks that are priced lower than you what you will ever see elsewhere.  If you are close to an Aldi, it worth the time to stop in to pick some up.

Aldi now has their local ads online.   Produce Pick start on Sunday and Special Buys on Wednesday.  If you're not in the St Louis area, check your local area's ad for prices and dates.

:: Aldi Produce Picks ::

Celery - $0.59 stalk
Cranberries (12 oz bag) - $0.89
Sweet Potatoes (3 lb. bag) - $0.99
Fresh Pineapple - $1.29 each
Russet Potatoes (10 lb. bag) - $1.49

If you haven't shopped at Aldi, or it has been awhile:
1. Make sure you have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. The carts are like luggage carts at the airport. You rent them for a quarter, and you get your quarter back when you return the cart.
2. Take your own bags. Aldi does not provide free bags for your groceries.
3. Aldis now accepts debit cards.
4. Aldis does not accept coupons

If you buy something at Aldi you are not please with, they have a double guarantee. If for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with any product, they will replace the product AND refund your money. More info HERE.

  1. can you freeze cream cheese? We don't use it very often but it would be nice to pick up a few and put away for a later date.

I think I might make potato soup this week when it gets cold again.

  3. @Marcella I've never thought of freezing cream cheese, but it's a good idea! This is what I found when I researched it:

It would appear that it would be find to freeze if you will use it in baking. Sweet!

  4. Butter was $1.99 at mine and the potatoes I got where the biggest potatoes I've ever seen (russet not sweet, those were small). I think you could feed a family of 4 on one of the suckers!
