CVS $5 Sceanario - Week of 8/18/10

If you are following my CVS $5 Scenarios, you have a $5 ECB to start you shopping with.

Remember, if CVS is out of stock on an item, ask for a raincheck. You still get ECBs with a raincheck.

Take a look more CVS deals HERE.

Transaction #1
purchase:
(1) Blink Tears $7.99
use:
Blink Tears printable coupon - $1.50
ECB from last week $5.00
= $1.49 + tax out of pocket and get a $7.99 ECB

Transaction #2
purchase:
(1) Zegerid OTC, 14 ct. $9.99
(1) Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets $5.99
use:
(1) Zegerid coupon (8/15/10 SS) - $3.00
(1) Purex Coupon (8/15/10 SS) -$3.00
ECB from 1st transaction -$7.99
= $1.99 + tax out of pocket and get a $7 and $2 ECB

Transaction #3
purchase:
(1) Gillette ProGlide Razor $9.99
(1) Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection toothpaste $3.49
use:
(1) Gillette ProGlide coupon (8/1/10 P&G) -$4.00
(1) Crest Toothpaste coupon (8/1/10 P&G) -$0.75
ECB from previous transaction -$7.00
ECB from previous transaction -$2.00
= $0.00 out of pocket and get $5 and $2.50 ECB
The cashier will reduce your ECB down to the amount owed. You could purchase a small filler item if you didn't want to lose the 27 cents.

Transaction #4
purchase:
(1) Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection toothpaste $3.49
use:
(1) Crest Toothpaste coupon (8/1/10 P&G) -$0.75
ECB you just received for purchasing Crest Toothpaste -$2.50
= $0.24 out of pocket and get a $2.50 ECB
Yes, you can use the ECB you just received to buy another tube of Crest and you'll still get an ECB, since this deal is limit 2.

Items Purchased
(1) Blink Tears
(1) Zegerid
(1) Purex 3-in-1
(1) Gillette ProGlide razor
(2) Crest Pro-Heath Toothpastes

Total retail before sales & coupons: $51.74
Total out of pocket: $3.74 + tax for a 93% savings
And a $5 and $2.50 ECB to use within the next month

If you didn't start out with ECBs, you still will have only spent $8.72 for this scenario for a 83% savings.

  1. When it says "Extra Bucks offer limit of 1 per household" is that EVER or per transation?

  2. Hi Anonymous - Great question. The offer limit is for the week.

There are a few monthly deals every once in awhile. When I post a montly deal I will note that info.
