Shop 'n Save Deals - 11/15/10 - 11/27/10

Update:  I've added the turkey prices and a few additional items with coupon match-ups.  Turkey prices are at the top of the post and additional itmes at the bottom.  The store I visited yesterday was not well stocked on the sale items.  You had better plan to shop as early in the day as possible and be prepared to adjust your plan.

$10 off $50 purchase, Thursday 11/18/10
No coupon necessary - $10 will automatically be deducted from your total when you spend $50 before coupons.

Take a look at this week's ad HERE.

Remember:
1. $10 off $50 purchase this Thursday (with a few restrictions listed in the ad)
2. Shop 'n Save does not double coupons.
3. Shop 'n Save accepts internet printable coupons up to 50% of the product retail price. (** I've noted coupons that are over 50% of the sale price in the match-ups.) Take a look at Shop 'n Save Internet Printable Coupon Acceptance Policy.

  12. Hi All,
Last time there was a GM deal like this CS told me it was NOT stacking at the cash register that a.m. so I didn't even try it. I posted after-the-fact and others on this blog suggested that CS was wrong. It sure is confusing. I am eager to see some scenarios; seems like a really good week to shop!!!

  13. If I were to send the General Mills products down the conveyor belt first, would the $5 come off then? Or does the checker just keep merrily scanning things, and then the $10 comes off as soon as I reach $50, and then the $5 come off?
    thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Can you explain stacking to me? Is this like Register Rewards rolling? Or do you mean buying 20 at once means that you will get $10 off that transaction?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Does the $5 come off as soon as the scanner "counts" the 10 General Mills products? If it did, I would have to spend $55, right? Or, does the scanner just keep track of how many GM products I've bought, then at the end take off the $10 for spending $50, and THEN take off the GM $5? Also, does anyone have a definite answer on whether or not you can buy 20 products and it will deduct $10 instead of $5 for the GM offer? Thanks so much everyone for all your help....I am just starting out with this, and you are all such great resources.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You can send 300 items down the belt, regardless, every and all times the General Mills discount automatically comes off after the cashier totals your order (or subtotals perhaps). Stacking = buy 20 items you get $10 off. I've read a lot of people on this blog saying that customer service says it doesn't stack, but I have had up to 7 deals in one transaction and it always automatically deducts all of them in one order. I shop at the Fenton SNS, don't know if that matters.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Also, if you are trying to use the General Mills deal on a Thursday, for me it has always been that my order is completely totaled, THEN the $10 off Thursday discount comes off and THEN the General Mills discount comes off. So, as long as all the items in your cart are more than $50 when you walk up to the register, you will get BOTH the $10 off Thursday deal AND the General Mills deal. Great question and I hope this helped! I keep all my receipts and have always looked at how the totals and deductions are listed on my receipt!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Last time, the $5 came off during the order but once you the $50 without those deductions, the $10 came off. I know that sounds confusing! For instance, I bought 30 GM items. I put those on the belt first. Every time the number 10 item scanned, $5 deducted from my total. I never reached $50 on the screen. My first 30 items totaled $30 toward the $50, but the screen only showed $15. I bought $20.50 of other items. So for a mili-second my screen showe $35.50 then back down to $25.50 when it took off the $10 off $50 spent.
Last time was the first time I noticed it deducting he $5 as it went along

    ReplyDelete
  19. The receipts show all the deductions at the end, but if you watched the screen 2 weeks ago, it took off as it went along.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Last time I did it, my deals did stack so I received $15 off one order for 30 items, but it also deducted the $5 each time I reached the 10. I had a feeling it would do this, so I decided to see if I could somehow put the most expensive before coupons up to 9 at the front of my order then add other things before adding the rest in my attempt to get it to 50 before deductions started hitting. I usually don't hit right at 50 because I'm always worried about a waste and tend to usually have around 65-70, so I can hit the mark fairly easily with some good placing of my items. Good luck and can't wait to hear your results.

I'm kind of anxious for tomorrow since I normally have a huge workload on Thursdays as I do translating and I just so happened to have two cancellations in the morning tomorrow, so I will have a chance to get some deals. Also we're getting ready to move to Phoenix, so I need to get my shopping fixes in here while I can. I don't think it's going to be near as good there....a little sad about this. I'm still going to stock up now in hopes of making Christmas bags of food for local families that could use the help! The best way to take advantage of the deals!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kritter - It's been quite some time since I lived in Phoenix, but I distinctly remember couponing to be better in Phoenix. The main reason was because the stores offered doubles with much higher limits and occasionally offered triple or better.

    Good luck with your move!

  22. Hi All

I've checked some prices and will add them to this post, but here are the prices for things people requested.

Pepsi 12 packs -$2.50 Mo. price
    Coke 12 packs - $3
    S&W Beans - .78
    Dinkin Donuts Coffee - $6.98
    Starbucks Coffee - $8.48
Lindsay Natural Olives $1.76 (3.8 oz)
    Lindsay Recloseable - $2.28
    Sunset Prune Juice $2.72 (32 oz) - $4.27 (64 oz)

Uncrustables - I couldn't find any them at the store I shop, but then again I've never bought that product before and might have missed them.

    Hope this info helps.

  23. Jeri -

I know we don't thank you nearly enough for all the hard work you put into this blog.

I look at a few other STL match-up sites which list additional match-ups than the ones you provide. However, I wind up disappointed every time I look at them because the links are dead or the coupons have expired/aren't in our local paper. (You would think I would learn and not even bother with them! LOL!)

I can't imagine how much time you must spend putting these lists together to make sure that the links are active and the match-ups are accurate.

You are a treasure and during this season of giving thanks, I am thankful for you!!!

  24. The only time I had trouble with an instant savings and needing to spend over $50 was at Crestwood when I was using a Sappington coupon. I just added some more cokes and didn't realize the what happened until I got home (I thought I just added wrong as I'm not as organized as some of you!). Most of the cashiers are so nice at Crestwood - I'm sure they would have made it work if I would have realized what happened.

  25. Hi All

Can confirm Pepsi is $2.50 per 12 pk here in IL also.

    ReplyDelete
  26. About the $5 instant savings - I've never watched the register that closely to see when/how the $5 comes off, but all I know it works out in the end, when you spend right at $50.

Maureen - I can see how the Instant savings messes with using a Sappington Farmers' Market coupon. The instant savings is already off the register when you hand over your coupons.

  27. Hi Kelly in West County - Thanks for the kind word. I need them today.

I'm more like a tortois than a hare. I really work hard to make sure the match-ups are correct and it does take quite a while to do that. Although, I do make mistakes, but I try hard to make my posts correct.

  28. Jeri - I am thankful for you too! After a couple years of seeing coupon match ups for stores in other areas (and being jealous of all their great deals!), I was thrilled to find a blog for St Louis stores. Thanks for all you do :)

  30. Gosh turkey prices are so much more expensive in the city. My parents live in outstate Missouri and they bought the bird for .37 a pound with only a $10 additional purchase. With a $3 coupon I found at Shop N Save and gave them, they got the 13 lb turkey for less than $2.

  31. Does anyone know if the GM stacking works at the Dardenne Prairie Store? Thanks . . . Jenn

    ReplyDelete
  32. You're welcome, CJ.

Thanks for sharing your scenario, Psycho Sara!

couponmama - Prices are higher in St Louis. The grocery stores would say it is becuase of labor costs.

Jenn - Yes, the GM Instant Savings should stack at all the SNS's.

  33. The Pillsbury catalina works on the Refrigerated ready to bake cookies too.
    There is a $1/1 IP at verybestbaking.com

  34. In regards to the min purchase for the turkey, is it $50 in addition to the turkey or $50 including the price of the turkey?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Minimum of $50 plus the turkey

    ReplyDelete
  36. As of 7:30 am the SNS on K at 70 is out of the GM core niblets. They may or may not get more. The CS gal said that if their store is running low then others probably are too. Might be a good idea to call ahead if those are on your list.

  37. Any body price check, or buy, Barilla Plus? I have my vocalpoint Qs to use, but forget to put that on my list for Jeri to check.

Jeri - I would like to add that your site is also my favorite for price match-ups as well! I love the way you set it up and word it. Thanks again for all you do!

  38. Good luck all. My dear of a hubby did 2 transactions for me at midnight last night, and it seemed that some items were already quite low in stock-corn particularly. Also, watch out for the pricing on the Pillsbury sweet rolls-some are ringing up the wrong price and didn't trigger the $5 or catalina. (Battle to fight with customer service and catalina another day.) Just a forewarning to watch out. Hoping everyone is able to get some good deals and avoid frustration with busy stores and low inventory. Best wishes:)

  39. Staci- the barilla plus is 2.17 for the farfalle at the K and 70 location.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Barilla Plus spaghetti is also $2.17 at the Fenton location (as of this morning).

  41. Just a warning that the SNS brand Cream of Mushroom rang up wrong for me today. No biggie since it's not that much but it rang up .98 and should have been like .64 or .67 I think (notes upstairs). Just noticed it when I got home. This was at the Highway K at 70 store.

  42. Hi All - Stock was low at my store too. I was there on Tues. evening to check prices and they didn't have much of any of the good sale items. It was worse today.

    ReplyDelete
  43. There were tearpad coupons at both Schnucks and the Kirkwood SNS for buy Kraft Parmesan, get Philly cream cheese free. They were on a cardboard sign near the Parmesan.

    ReplyDelete
  44. G M only stacking 3

    ReplyDelete
  45. Also, there were tearpad coupons on one of the coolers in the checkout lane for $.75 off any V8 drink 16 oz or smaller. There were several varieties in the cooler on sale for $1. Great thing if you miscalculate and are a little short. Also, I picked up a $50 Kohl's GC for BF shopping with my SNS GC, thus getting it 10% off.

  46. What a ZOO at SNS today. The Niblets were gone; the Carnation milk was gone; the Welch's sparkling juice was gone... a store stock clerk said that it started at 6 a.m. and was still going strong. The Green Giant printable coupon for bagged veggies is for the larger size - not the size on sale this week. I didn't discover that until I was in line (a very loooong line). Happy news is that the GM stacked and I had some nice peelie coupons for the Pillsbury refrigerated products ($1/2!) which I had picked up at Schnucks a few weeks ago. Not my best day, but not horrible.
Thanks Jeri for doing so much advance legwork. Without you and your other loyal readers/commenters this would be insurmountable for my feeble brain.

  47. Wow, glad I went at 6am. Sounds like the niblets were going fast and I was able to get some. That's the bad thing about Thursday, if u go later in the day the best deals are gone. I either have to go at 6am or after 4pm. I was able to find the Kellogg's/Keebler coupon booklet on a display which was not there last week.

Woohoo! I feel like I bought a really inexpensive turkey and got everything else for free!
They were totally out of the Old Orchard Juice. I didn't even get to the frozen veggies yet. I'm hoping to go back this evening.

I'm so thankful for you, Jeri. I wouldn't even try this without you. You are truly helping my family. Thank you!!!

    Gloria

  49. Gloria - You Rock! I echo your sentiments in thanking Jeri for making this possible.

I have avoided the BC frosting because, frankly, I don't like canned frosting and making it from scratch is easy-peasy (in my opinion). Perhaps it would make an ok donation item for charity???

  50. Jeri, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I can't sleep because I'm still on my savings high LOL! I had such a hard time saving on food until I found your site. DH kept teasing, "enough of the free deodorant-- find us deals on food." We are well stocked now and I'm excited to try cooking my first turkey. You have helped my family so much, we really appreciate your hard work!

  51. For all you fresh veggies eaters out there- :)
We buy most of our produce from communityhelpingscoop.com we go through Fairview Heights Parks and Recreation. You don't have to live in Fairview (we live in Swansea). Pick up is every other week, you order it and pay for it on opposite weeks. The cost is $23 for a unit. You may order more than one if you want. They also have additional things you can order. You DO NOT have to participate every time.
This week when I picked up this is what was in my order:

    1 pomegranate,
    2 large green leaf lettuce
    1 bag spinach
    personal fridge watermelon
    2 small bags baby carrots
1 bag mixed fruit (oranges, apples, pears)
    2 or 3 large apples
    1 pineapple
    8 small onions
    5lbs white potatoes
    couple pounds green beans
    large bunch banans
    2 LARGE sweet potatoes
all for $23 I think it is a pretty good deal!
the weird thing to me is how long fruit and veggies last when they are not exposed to the lights at the stores. over the summer, we got peaches and plums that lasted a month! I found them in the bottom of the drawer and they had been hiding under a bag of bay carrots. They were still good!
Just passing along a frugal tip of ours

  53. Random question - does anyone know where you can buy Michael Angelo's frozen entrees in the St. Louis area (besides Sam's Club). I have some free product coupons that I need to use and their website is less than helpful. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Are you sure that is the right spelling? I am thinking I have seen them at Schnucks but the spelling looks off to me

    ReplyDelete
  55. You might be thinking of Michelina's. I asked at the Twin Oaks Schnucks and they had no idea what I was talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  56. HI T - I think I've seen Michael Angelo products on Jennifer's Whole Foods match-ups.

She might be able to get you more info.
