Target Deals - Week of 10/31/10

I'm including not only prices advertised in the local ad, but prices in a Super Target ad also. I find the regular Targets have these prices for the week too. But, check before you buy to make sure.

Remember: You can use a manufacturer and Target store coupon on the same product.

  2. em - Good deal! I'd read that there had been problems with Target not giving full value for coupons used on GC deals, but it doesnt look like you had any problem.
Another possible Target freebie - the 7 count box of Tasters Choice instant coffee sticks are $1 and some boxes have $1 coupons, allowing you to roll the coupon from one into another free box. I havent tried it yet.

  3. Some great coupons on Target's website:
    $1 off any produce item
$1 off any Archer Farms or Market Pantry item
$2 off any 2 Oscar Meyer Carving Board lunchmeats - can be stacked with 2 manuf. coupons. There were $1 peelies on packages I bought at SNS yesterday, so they might be on packages at Target too.

  5. CJ, I read about the gift card deal glitch. I should also note I bought a bunch of other things along with the Olay, and that's why I didn't run into that problem. I think it's if you have at least $10 worth of other items in your order, it won't be a problem.

  6. I think I was a victim of the gift card glitch at Target today. I bought 2 Olay facial washes, Huggies wipes, 2 Renuzits, 2 Reach floss, Tasters Choice coffee sticks and Dingo dog treats. I had $14 worth of items other than the Olay. I used $12 in coupons but only $10.81 was subtracted (I didnt even buy anything for .81!). I paid $10.32 OOP, got the $5 Olay gift card and will get $2.99 rebate for the dog treats. A good trip but I hate being stiffed on my coupons when I know I've used them right.
The Tasters Choice 7 ct stick pack did have a $1 coupon inside so I'll get one free on my next trip. There were no Oscar Meyer Carving Board products at my Target.

  7. CJ - that is exactly what happened. You have to spend $10 out of pocket for every $5 GC deal you do. Really weird glitch... (And unless I am buying diapers, I rarely spend that much OOP....)

You might check with customer service...

I got shorted yesterday too, but decided not to fight that one. I had a $4/10 Mfg for the Smart Ones meals - it only scanned at 2.25, the price of one meal...I didn't see it on the screen. He let me use the $4/10 TargetQ and the buy 10 SmartOnes get $5GC TargetQ - so I wasn't going to push it.

  8. Hi CJ & Andrea - As much as I like Target, I don't like coupon shopping their very much. I can't follow the register when the cashier is ringing up my coupons and I can't read the register tape to tell what really happened.

I used to like to do only small transactions there so I could figure out what worked or not, but now with the "glitches" that's not possible either. Do you think they will ever get this fixed?

  9. I guess my $10.32 OOP wasnt enough to cover the glitch. I knew the last 2 coupons didnt ring up right as it was happening but the cashier had a stoma in her throat and didnt talk well so I didnt want to have to try to converse, and wasnt sure how to explain the problem to customer service. It was only a little over $1 short and I got everything else for free so I decided to let it go. Target knows its a problem and apparently hasnt bothered to fix it. I could understand not being able to use coupons on the $5 of the purchase that you get the gift card for, but to double it and cheat you out of $10 of usuable coupons doesnt make any sense. From now on I'll skip the GC deals unless I know I'm well over the "glitch limit".

  10. CJ - I could completely understand the "glitch" too if it was spend $5 per $5GC received - but exactly, the spend $10 doesn't make sense at all. I don't do many deals at Target - but enough that I sure hope they get it fixed....

  11. Even after yesterday I cant stay away from Target - today I got french bread for .39, 6 rolls for .13, Dole salad for .59 and strawberries for $1.49. Love those $1 Target produce and bakery coupons, no glitch on those!

  12. Hi CJ - It sounds like a love/hate relationship. Next thing we know, you'll be on Dr Phil.

  15. Hi Judy - Great deals. Thanks for the info!

  16. Jeri, Target does have its drawbacks, but I think you would be singing a different tune about Target if you were a recipient of their mailers. They give such great coupons. I get so many things for free or really cheap, I don't mind working around their glitches. Also it's nice not to have to worry about expiring EB or RR.

I also did the TGIFridays deal today and added in a $1 target coupon from a mailer, so 3 skillet meals for $1. I hope they are good.

  17. Hi em - I used to get a few mailer from Target, but I havn't in a long time. I've always liked Target, but they are one of the furthest stores from home. I think if I was able to get there more often I would figure out all the problems and the ways to work around them better.

  18. Hi em,
How do you get Target mailers? Do you use the Target Redcard? In the past I've gotten terrific deals at Target, but haven't shopped there much recently.
(Although I am LOVING their end caps with the clearance items latetly at the Fenton/Gravois Bluffs location. I got some Brita water filter cartridges for a little over $2/each last week for a friend who uses them - 75% off.)
    Thanks em,
    Debra

  19. How Target chooses who to send their mailers to is a mystery. You cannot request them.

I don't have the redcard yet, but I do use the same credit card every time I go to Target (once or twice a week). I do think that has something to do with it because often the mailers will have coupons for specific brands I've bought in the past.

I have also had registries with Target.

  20. Hopefully things are looking up at Target for us couponers - all Target stores reportedly received this email recently about coupons. Sure hope it helps! I'm going to print and carry it just in case.
