Walgreens $5 Scenario - Week of 1/16/11

The most cost effective way to shop at Walgreens is to roll your Register Rewards from week to week.

If you are following my Walgreens $5 Scenarios, you have  $2 EOS and a $2 Kellogg's Register Reward to spend on this week's shopping.

Check out all of this week's Walgreens deals HERE.

Transaction #1
purchase:
(4) Sinex (20 ct.)  @ $5 each = $20.00
(2) Mars Candy  @ $0.89 each  = $1.78 (needed as filler to use RR)
use:
(4) $4 Sinex coupon (12/26/10 P&G) - $16.00
Walgreens in-ad coupon for Mars Candy -$0.80
Kellogg's Register Reward from last week - $2.00
EOS Register Reward from last week - $2.00
= $0.98 + tax out of pocket and get a $10 P&G Register Reward

Transaction #2
pruchase:
(1) Joint Juice Glucosamine Chondroitin (20 oz) $10.00
(2) Kraft Homestyle Mac & Cheese @$1.67 = $3.34
(1) Dawn Dish Liquid $2.29
use:
(1) Joint Juice printable coupon -$1.00
(2) $1 Kraft Homestyle Mac & Cheese coupon (1/16/11 SS) - $2.00
Walgreens coupon for Kraft Homestyle in the January coupon book -$1.00
Walgreens in-ad coupon for Dawn Dish Liquid -$1.30
Register Reward from Previous Transaction -$10.00
= $0.33 + tax out of pocket and get a $10 Joint Juice RR
Even thought there is a $0.25 Dawn coupon available, you are best not to use it because you would spend more on a filler than it saves.

(1) Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor $9.99
(1) Tom's of Maine Deodorant, Toothpaste or Mouthwash $3.99
(1) Skintimate Shave Cream $3.99

(1) Skintimate coupon (1/16/11 SS) - $1.00
Walgreens In-ad coupon for Skintimate -$2.00

Item purchase

  2. Has anyone actually gotten transaction # 1 to work for them? I have tried 4 different Walgreens and they all have refused to take the Sinex coupons.

  3. on the above comment I posted earlier about transaction # 1. After further review I realized it does say purchase the Sinex, however, they are not listed in the ad as $5. nor are they ringing up at that price at any of my stores. They are ringing up at $7.49. I am just wondering if the Sinex is ringing up for $5.00 for anyone else. I also realize I am in a different state but I wouldn't think there would be that big a difference.

  4. Hi Diana - You have to purchase the Sinex Dayquil or Nyquil. The 20ct Sinex Dayquil is rining up for $5 here.

In the store in my area of town. The Sinex is located with the sinus and not cold products. Good luck on finding the right product for the right price.
