April Showers Collection is Saturday, April 16th

Saturday, April 16th the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri will be collecting  personal care items and donate them to local pantries and shelters.

The Girl Scouts delivered collection bags last weekend.  I saw several flying through the neighborhood, so I imagine mine was gone with the wind.   You can use any bag to put out goodies for the girl scouts to pick up.

It's time to look through the stockpile to see what you can donate.  Needed items include soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, facial tissue, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, feminine hygiene products, disposable diapers, baby wipes and first aid supplies.

Those who miss the April 16 collection day or wish to contribute additional items may deliver these to any Dierbergs Market in Missouri April 14-May 7.

  4. There should be donation bin s at various Dierbergs and Schnucks throughout the metro area. You can also drop items at the GS Service Center/regional headquarters on Page near Lindberg.

  6. Thanks to all that donated. Our troop filled the back of my little SUV and the back of a minivan. We had one woman who said she spends $300 @ Aldi on diapers and pads, and other hygiene supplies- She donated a total of 12 full cases of products! Yeah for her! Every little bit helps.

  8. We only had 400 something pretty sad considering alot was donated from the parents. Hopefully the people who didn't donate will take advantage of the grocery store drop off spots.

  9. Hi All - I'm sure the girls had fun no matter how much or little was collected in their territory.

The drizzle might have cut down on what people put out. Hopefully lots of people will take advantage of the Dierbergs or Schnucks drop off locations.

  10. Apparently Schnucks was only collecting items on Sat, their bins are now gone. Hopefully Dierbergs will continue to collect items. I have 3 more bags to drop off. Thanks to the Girl Scouts and the moms who volunteer to help out every year :)
