CVS $5 Scenario - Week of 5/08/11

This week doesn't have fantastic ECB deals, but that doesn't mean you still can't get some great deals at CVS.

If you are following my CVS $5 Scenarios, you have a $3 ECB to start this week's shopping with.

Take a look more CVS deals HERE.

Only one transaction for my scenario this week.

UPDATE - The Similac coupon limits 1 coupon per transaction. If you want to purchase two, you'll need to split the Similac purchase into two transactions.  (Thanks, Rachelstl for catching the restriction!)

purchase:
(2) Carefree Pantiliners @ $0.99 each = $1.98
(2) Similac Ready to Feed Formula @ $4.99 each = $9.98
(2) Duncan Hines Brownies@ $0.84 each = $1.68
(2) Stride Spark Gum $1 each =$2
(2) Xtra 2x Laundry Detergent @ $1.49 each = $2.98
(2) Mitchum Deodorant @ $1.99 each = $3.98

use:
(2) Free Carefree coupons (5/08/11 SS) -$1.98
(2) $5 Similac coupons (4/03/11 SS) -$9.98 (cashier will reduce)
(2) .50 Duncan Hines coupons (4/10/11 SS or HERE) -$1.00
(1) $1/2 Stride Gum Coupon (4/03/11 SS) -$1.00
(1) $1/2 Xtra coupon (5/01/11 SS0 -$1.00
(2) $1 Mitchum coupons (5/08/11 SS)-$2.00
ECB from last week -$3.00
= $0.64 + tax out of pocket

Total retail before sales & coupons: $35.00
Total =$0.64 + tax out of pocket for a 98% savings

If you didn't start with the $3 ECB, you still will have only spent $3.64 for this scenario - a 90% savings.

  1. Didn't the similac coupons say one per transaction?

  2. They do say that. But you could use one of the $5 & one of the $3 coupons from that same insert in one transaction.

  3. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up... I went to the Olivette CVS yesterday and the manager said that corporate made some change to the system that will no longer allow her to program the ad early on Saturday. =( Looks like no more early shopping or Saturday double dipping. She said she figured it was just a matter of time. It was good while it lasted!

I also met a fellow couponer and Coupon Stl reader. Hi Katie, just in case you're reading! =)

  4. Hi All

Rachelstl - Thanks for catching the Similac restrictions. I'll update the post to reflect that. I think we are going to see more and more of these types of restrictions. I'm going to have to make sure I remember to check for restrictions.

Tonya - You could use the $3, or just do two transactions.

Staci - Thanks for the update. It was good while it lasted. And isn't it fun to run into another Coupon STLite.

  6. The Carefree coupons also say "one per purchase".

  7. Hi Kat - Yes, the coupon says "one per purchase." It's easy to confuse purchase and transaction.

Purchase mean one coupon per item purchased. So if you purchase two items, you can use two coupons, even if they are in the same trasaction.

Transaction means the items in a checkout that your purchase. If the coupon says one coupon per transaction, you can purchse only one item per checkout.
