  1. Good Afternoon to All,

What a Great day it is. =)

Jeri I wanted to mention that today when I stopped in SNS the Kelloggs cereals in ad 3/$6 are marked $1.78 in stores =) The Raisin Bran and Corn Flakes qualify for the Kelloggs/AARP. I still have my -$5/5 IPs that I am planning on using. =)

Gotta feelin' this is gonna be a busy good week.

The Cat deal for the Ore-Ida is now only get $1 when you buy 2 not sure if buying more than 2 boxes will be better.

I came up with this plan to do the bags:

      5 Ore-Ida bags =$14.90
      1 Smart Ones Dessert +$2.00
      =$16.90
      - $5.07 for Thursday Disc and -$5 EBQ
      -$4 In ad MQ
      =$7.83
      Rec the $1 Cat back
=$6.83 for 5 bags and 1 Smart One Dessert
      or $1.14 per item

      Hope that helps. =)

  9. I feel I ask this question all the time, but for the life of me, I can't remember. If I take advantage of the GM deal twice in one transaction, as people are saying you can do, I would get $10 instantly taken off...so does that mean I need to have $60 worth of groceries in my cart instead of $50 when I start to check out? Thanks!

    1. No, it always works out w/the instant rebates that you still only need to get $50 worth of groceries. Even if you double the GM deal still just need $50.

    1. I've been in contact with SNS about the new bar code. There system doesn't read it yet, but the store have been instructed to take IP's with the new bar code. If you have any problems with the cashier, ask to speak to a manager.

    2. Jeri, thanks for that info. I've noticed most stores have been good with manually entering my printables with the new bar codes so I figure word is getting out to the cashiers.

  19. Just returned from shopping. What an experience!

The GM instant $5 did not come off the first order, even though the Boxtops coupon printed. The manager did give me $5. The second time I had two GM deals and only one came off. The cashier tried to tell me there was a limit of one. Again the manager handed me $5. Then the customer after me did two GM deals and $10 came off, so obviously something was not programmed into the system. Possible items could be buttery crescent rolls, regular crescent rolls, or strawberry yogurt with granola. If you buy any of those items, check to see if you receive your instant savings.

Also did 5 Chex Mixes, but the the Catalina printed as if I bought 4. The peanut lovers' one must not be programmed in. I recommend avoiding that flavor. The Internet print $.60 coupons did not scan, so the cashier would not take them. The manager did give me the $2.40 for the 4 I had.

I do appreciate the manager taking care of this, but I did pay tax on $12.40 I should not have had to do.

Glad to have my shopping done, but it was frustrating. However, there certainly are good bargains this week.

    Good Luck!

    3. Hi KC - Thanks for the heads up.

It's not surprising that with as much as SNS has going on this week and the number of products with Instant Savings & Catalinas, that a few items get missed being entered into the system.

You did have a good manager to fix things for you on the spot.

    2. Hi Janet,
I left my name and number with the store manager and that was the issue. He said that they had to re-set the catalina system. It was just after 6am so I'm surprised I had an issue at that time, but I think it was just this specific store (this was the SNS on K in Monticello Plaza). I went to a different store and didn't have any issues with the same catalinas; they printed just fine there.

  21. I got a Catalina I wasn't expecting. Bonus!! It was from Yoplait / trix yogurt. I purchased 2 go-gurts and 2 trix yogurts and I got a $1.50 CAT!

  22. A Fenton cashier rejected one of my three Kraft shredded printable coupons on sight this morning, saying they're now limiting identical Internet printables to two per transaction. The online coupon policy makes no mention of this yet, but I didn't have time to visit the customer service counter and ask. I'll have to send Shop 'n Save an e-mail about it later.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This is the first I've hear of that "rule." I just checked the coupon policy they have online and I agree, it's not mentioned. I don't know if it's that cashier's rule, stores rule or they have changed the policy.

Instead of e-mailing them, you might want to post your question on their Facebook page. They are usually very good about responding on Facebook, and then all can see what the answer is. Let us know what you find out.

      Delete
    2. Jeri, I took your advice and posted my question on their Facebook page. We'll see what happens!

      Delete
    3. I saw your question on Facebook and SNS response. It didn't think it answered your question at all. SNS is usually better with their responses than that.

      Delete
    4. Agreed. So far they've made no attempt to answer it, or even ask for contact information so they can follow up in private later. I've noticed the Fenton store isn't always coupon-friendly, it seems to depend a lot on the cashier.

I had a problem there a few weeks ago with someone not wanting to take a coupon with the new bar code and being kind of rude about it (since then I've noticed the veteran cashiers just enter those coupons manually), and I've also had a cashier reject manufacturer's coupons that are printed on regular paper with perforated edges (the kind that are sent sometimes if you win something online) because she thought it violated rules about acceptable values for Internet printables (even though they weren't Internet printables!). When that happens I don't even bother asking to speak to a manager, I let Schnucks or Dierbergs get the sale instead.

When it did not take off my second five I went to the service counter and they gave me the $5 but tried to tell me that it didn't work becuase it printed the 25 boxtops and the 10 boxtops and that is what is meant by two per purchase. 33. I went to the Belleville Shop N Save on Carlyle Ave this morning. I bought 20 GM products, but only $5 instant savings came off instead of $10. I bought 2 crescent rolls, 4 Grands, 4 Chex mix, 5 cake mix, and 5 frostings. The cashier said it was probably a limit of 1 per transaction so I did not get the extra $5. I was also told that they couldn't take any of the IP's that only had one bar code so they would not take my 4 .60 Chex coupons. They also said they quit carrying the Ken's marinades. I was going to do a second transaction with several boxes of cereal but a shopper in there told me that she already tried using the $4/4 and $5/5 and they wouldn't let her because of the 1 bar code. Do I have any chance of getting my second $5 instant savings or the $2.40 for my Chex mix if they already told me no?

    1. Hi Chrissy,

Sorry to hear of your bad experience. I would go to your store director and explain the situation and get it corrected there. There is no excuse for them to not take the coupons with the new barcodes-the cashiers need to be properly trained on how to manually enter them. Hope that helps a little. =)

I've been in contact with SNS about their system not yet accepting the new bar code. They will be updating the system, but in the mean time, they have instructed their stores to accept IPs with the new bar code.

It sounds like this info has not filtered down to all the employees.

I will always stop in on Mondays before the -$10/$50 Thursday and place any orders for large quanity items I am needing to that day. The Staff at this store Always go above and beyond for customer service. 2. Hi Jeri,

I hope you made a trip or two to take advantage of the deals going on. =)

Had to double ck my receipts for time: first receipt timed at 9:33 am and last receipt timed at 12:14 pm =) And I did do quit a bit of talkin' and passin' out some good coupons =) It is Amazing how the planning before can save so much time(in the store) and money. =)

    3. Hi ladies!! Wow, i spent three hours too, but only got in 7 rounds. Had baby with me in am trip and 6 yr old in the afternoon. Got pretty stocked up on non-perishables. Overall, great shopping day. Been so busy with the new baby, havent been at couponing as hard core. Aldi has been my friend these last few months :)

    4. Hi Andrea - Congrats on the new little one.

Sounds like you have your priorities right. Couponing is not an all or nothing propositon. Stock up when you can, live off your stockpile and buy what you can get the best price on when life is busy.

I find myself buying more and more at Alid, also. The prices at the grocery stores have been outrageous.

  42. Hi Janet - I was able to squeeze two trips. Door to door from home was about an hour and 15 mintutes. I was hoping to go back for another trip, but at 9:00 pm decided to watch a little basketball.

  43. To Janet & Eve,
Do you both shop at the Edwardsville store? Do you ever shop at the Collinsville location on Vandalia Street? Since I live in Col., that's the store where I shop. But the cashiers & customer service have gone from bad to worse (with the exception of a few people)! What has your experience been at this Col. store? After yesterday's horror of how I was treated (by a lady manager, no less,) I've decided it's not worth my mental & emotional health to continue to shop there no matter how good the deals are! And with the price of gas, I'm hesitant to drive all the way to Edw. I was just wondering how it's been for you at this store?

    2. I shop at the edwardsville store because its right down the street and i love it. I been shopping there for so long i know the night stock manager and he walks around with me and will go grab stuff if its not on the shelf but he knows they have it in the back.I have never had problems with Q's not scanning and i know most of the checkers that also like to coupon so i just go to their lane easy peezy. Had 78 dollars worth of grocery items inculding milk and only spent 18 . Oh by the way sns in edwardsville has a gas station and you get cents off per gallon depending on how much you spend so it may be worth the drive. Thanks Jeri.

    3. Great shoppping, Andy!

I've heard some couponers say they want to fly under the radar, but I'm like you. I want to get to know the management and cashiers at the stores I shop. It makes couponing so much easier when they know you and know that you use coupons correctly. Trust is a big part in couponing.

Wish we had more gas stations at SNS on this side of the river.

Don't get mixed up. This isn't the post for the current week.
