DeleteI've heard there is suppose to be a $10/$50 in December, but then again, the stores were surprised there was no $10/$50 the week before Thanksgiving.

ReplyDeleteIt's been rumored that after the first of the year we won't see $10/$50 again.
DeleteIt's my understanding that SuperValu is looking to unload Shop 'n Save, in which case we'll be lucky to see another $10/$50 day before the year's end. A relative who works for Shop 'n Save has heard there are at least three potential buyers, including Schnucks. It's unclear what any of these buyers would do with the chain (i.e., retain the store's identity, re-brand it in the new parent company's image, shutter some locations altogether, etc.) so anyone who spends the bulk of their grocery budget at Shop 'n Save should probably start formulating backup plans in case the possible transition to new ownership isn't to their satisfaction.

That article doesn't get into the reduced hours some regular store employees have seen in recent months. The situation is very sad for SNS employees and has the potential to be quite sad for consumers as well, as less competition between grocery stores could easily result in higher prices.
Do you know if the Catalina deal on the gift cards is rollable? if i buy one set can i use the $20 off to buy the next set?
