  1. I wonder what the prices are before coupons on the items with in ad coupons. Since the $10 comes off before the coupons that could really bring the total down. If anyone knows prices can you share? Last time during the 72 hour sale they didn't have the regular price posted anywhere on the produce so I couldn't calculate it into my total.

    1. Hi Teresa - You are thinking. I will try to get to to SNS today and get some prices.

    2. I went to SNS today and the apples were ringing up $.99 before the coupon, so no additional savings there. The cereal was marked $2, with a sign saying $1.88 with in-ad coupon.

    1. I checked Tennessee Pride's website and they don't have any coupons available at this time. I don't think I've seen their coupons anywhere else lately.

    2. There is a coupon for Tennessee pride breakfast sandwiches, on any one breakfast sandwich box or bag. Expires 9/3. I have it clipped but don't know what insert it came from. :-(

    3. Expired on the 3rd, or did you miss typing the zero, so it's good until the 30th?

I don't have it in my database - did it come form the Post-Dispatch?

    1. Hi CJ - I'm not even seeing the $0.50/1 Special K coupon now. I hope readers printed the $1 coupon and have it in their stash.

  4. Does SNS have a limit on the number of like coupons in a transaction? For example could I use 10 to 15 of the exact same manufacturer coupon (that came from an insert) in one transaction on friday? TIA.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hi Rachel - Unless the coupon has restrictions on how many you can use in one transactions, I don't know of SNS having a limit on like coupons.

    2. 10-15 coupons, Holy Cow! I would think that Shop N Save would start limiting there coupons excepted if people start using 10-15 in one transaction. Not a good idea AT ALL!!! Shop N Save is trying to get out of financial problems by running all of these great deals, let's not take advantage or they might stop offering them to us.

      Delete
    3. It's hard for me to judge shoppers needs. My neighbors have 6 kids (5 of the boys) and they sure have much different shopping need than I do.

      Delete
    4. I assume Rachel is referring to manufacturer's coupons, since she mentioned they were from inserts. Manufacturer's coupons are a form of payment. SnS is reimbursed by the manufacturer the cost of the coupon plus a handling fee. That means SnS does not lose money on the transaction and should be happy to make the sale.

      Delete
    5. I realize that they get reimbursed but the shelf clearing is totally unnecessary. All I was saying is, if we start using 10-15 coupons at Shop N Save they will too limit the number that can be used just like Schnucks and Dierbergs has. Lets not ruin a good thing! :-)

      Delete
  5. I think that Schnucks and Diebergs limit the number of DOUBLED or TRIPLED coupons to 15. You are welcome to use more than that many coupons in a transaction- I have done it and leave my larger coupons to the end of the transaction if they won't double or triple. The reason they limit the double/triples is because they are taking that hit themselves. There is no reason to limit manufacturer coupons as they are all reimbursed by the various manufactureres. While I don't care for empty shelves I do get to my store at 4:30am. Early Bird gets the worm and if you are serious about saving then you put in the work. my 2 cents....

    1. Anonymous is right, my Scnucks won't let you use 15 of one coupon, it has to be ok'd by the store manager using more than there "limit". Yes Jess, you get to the store at 4:30am and use 15 coupons, by the time I get there everything is gone. It's happened to me a number of times. You can't argue with idiots!!

  6. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and oppinions. I didnt want to go ahead and do this without asking. The coupon in question is the $1/2 Gerber baby food coupon. My store has quite a stock of baby food, so it would not even put a dent in whats in the shelf. Even if I were to use all 10 to 15 coupons. Lets face it, 20 to 30 jars of baby food dont last that long. I will ask my store prior to using them to see what thier thoughts are.

  7. People are going to shop exactly how they want to no matter what anyone else has to say about it.. I have been couponing for 14yrs now and there has always been people that clear the shelves, its just getting worse now that more people are using coupons.. Some even go to More than 1 store and clear the shelves.. Instead of just a need for their home, it becomes an addiction to them..

    ReplyDelete
  8. I did not mean to cause issues by asking this question. I consider myself an ethical couponer (which is why I asked the question in the first place). I would also like to mention that I do not clear shelves!!!! I have never used such a large quantity of like coupons in the same transaction (again, which is why I asked). The most amount of same coupons that I have ever used is 4 in one transaction.

Just for instance (not saying that I am going to do this, I will have to ask my store), I could use all 15 coupons in one trans action by taking 1 or 2 jars/packages of babyfood of each flavor and there still be PLENTY of baby food still on the shelves.

I agree, I don't like people who clear the shelves either. I mean who needs 20 or 30 boxes of pasta, salad dressing, toothpaste.

Again, I did not mean to cause such issues. I refer to this site alot, and you all have saved me alot of money over the years. It's a great online community and we help each other out by refering deals, coupons, and price lists for one another.

    1. Hi Jeri,

Well Yikes here we go once again on what amount of coupons is the right amount for one to use. I am sorry if I am going to step on anyones toes.

      Hi Rachel,

I have been a follower of Jeri's since @2009 and I have had plenty of words slung my way when Jeri or I would mention my shopping needs and coupon usage. I will say YOU GO GIRL and use those 15 coupons in one transaction if you want. SNS does not have a policy regarding this for now and most likely will not. As mentioned in the past if it is a hot item and coupon the stores will be hit and there will be unhappy people no matter what...... I have used MANY MANY MANY multiple coupons at SNS since @2008 and never had I have one store give me any trouble or question why I would use/have so many but like you said check with CS before you shop. I am positive they have no problem with you using 1, 15 or 100.

Example: This past Essential Everyday coupon. If I squealed about how many I have used I would make heads spin faster than Reagan in the Exorcist.

Now for Schnucks: I believe the only statement in the coupon policy regarding multiples is in reference to Doubles Only. Any other coupons should be allowed in multiples and correct me if I am wrong.

      The End.

      Janet

    2. Janet,
How many papers do you buy to get so many coupons. At $2.50 a paper I only purchase 4 a week. Sometimes I might do as many as 6 if there are some good coupons in them. Yes, your right, you would need to purchase a lot of items on sale just to recover the cost of your papers. That is what a lot of people don't understand.

      Delete
    3. Some people buy coupons on ebay, get left over coupons from neighbors, family, friends, coupon clipping services. Some people are in coupon clubs were they swap coupons. etc. I think this site even has Coupon Traders were the same thing may be done.

    4. Way to go Janet. Ditto for me. I've been following couponstl for four years. I also do large quantities of coupons but all the stores and staff know me and what I do with all of my food, personal items, household items..consistently donate to several food pantries. Rachel, do what's right for you and your household. Don't worry about the negative feedback. You have a lot of support here!///Blair

    5. I will use multiples of the same coupon, as long as there are still plenty for others to still get later in the day. I will take the last 2 of something, if it's the only 2 I have gotten of that item.

I find multiple coupons only a problem if you are going to use 15 and clear a shelf and leave for no one else.

I usually have multiples because I can get the free paper here. I NEVER take all the papers and I patronize the places I get a papers from - so yes, they are free, but I spend money at the store as a trade off. I share with my mom and people in the area, trade coupons, etc.

  9. Lol Thanks Janet. I enjoyed your exorcist reference. :) I didnt know of any official coupon policy from SNS other than the IP coupon policy. I drive over 40 min to shop at Dierbergs, Schnucks, and SNS. So I try to make it worth my while when I go. My savings always pay for my gas. There are no limitations on the coupon itself on the quantity to be used on any one day. SNS has several Gerber products on sale this week anyway. I appreciate your feedback.

I am a second generation couponer, and I am even teaching my mom a thing or two thanks to you guys!

  10. One Coupon day back when they were Thursdays, SnS had a peelie sticker on the Budding Deli Singles. I did a whole transaction of just them to make the $50. There were still plenty of peelies and plenty of lunchmeat when I was done and the cashiers rang it all up with a smile.

  15. Yesterday I went to SNS to price check the apples and they rang up $.99 without the coupons. Today, I went to the same store, and they were $3.98 and you have to use the coupon to get the sale price. Therefore, I was way over $50. That makes the apples a REALLY good deal if you count the whole $3.98 toward your $50.

  16. Anyone know the price of the EE Toilet Paper before the coupon?

Also, on the coupons that say limit "x" - like the OJ and TP, If the limit is 2, do I need 2 coupons or does 1 coupon take off for both items?

    Thanks, Andrea
