Rolling Register Rewards and Only Spending Pocket Change

It's a great week at Walgreens to buy lots of merchandise and spend less than $1.

I can wing it when I go to CVS, but there are too many things to remember when shopping at Walgreens for me to shop without a plan. Here's what I'm planning.

Take a look at this week's coupon match up for Walgreens.

1st Transaction:
Buy Bayer Glucose monitor $14.99
Use Bayer Glucose coupon -$14.99
Out of pocket: nothing, receive $5 RR

2nd Transaction:
Buy Nivea $4.99
Buy Ecotrin $2
Buy Hallmark Wrap .39
Use Ecotrin coupon -$2.25
Use in-ad wrap coupon
Use Bayer RR -$5
Out of pocket: 13 cents, receive $4.99 RR and $2 RR

3rd Transaction:
Buy Rembrandt $5.99
Buy 4 Campbell's soup $2.36
Buy Visine $3.99
Buy 2 Reynold Wrap $1.78
Use 2 soup coupons -$2
Use Visine coupon -$3
Use 2 foil coupons -$2
Use in-ad coupon for soup
Use in-ad coupon for foil
Use in-ad coupon fro Visine
Use Ecotrin RR -$2
Use Nivea RR -$4.99
Out of pocket: .13 cents, receive $5.99 RR

4th Transaction:
Buy 2 Arm & Hammer Detergents $6.98
Buy Ecotrin $2
Buy Dove Deodorant $1.99
Buy Hallmark Wrap .39
Use 2 Arm & Hammer coupons -$2
Use Ecotrin coupon -$2.25
Use Dove coupon - 1
Use in-ad coupon for wrap
Use Rembrandt RR -$5.99
Out of pocket: 12 cents, receive $2 RR

Grand totals: spend 38 cents, and still have $2 in Register Rewards.

  2. Some Walgreens will not let you buy the monitors unless you have an RX from doctor stating you need one, also they do not adjust the manufc. coupon down to the 14.99 they state you can not use those manf. coupons due to the overage and that they can not adjust them. I know this is a possible scenario and I am glad you managed to get it but too many stores would also tell people no you can not do this.

  3. Wow, I must be very fortunate that the Walgreens I shop at here in St Louis have always been descent to coupon users.

Besides the occational, cashier and or manager telling you, you won't receive a Register Reward if you paid with one (when you know you can) they have been great to shop at.
