Walgreens - $5 off $25 Coupon

Print your $5 off $25 Walgreens in-store coupon good Wednesday 8/26/09 through Saturday 8/29/09.

Fine print: Must reach purchase amount of $25 or more before taxes and after all manufacturer and Walgreens coupons and discounts. Limit one coupon per customer per offer.

It's a little harder to come up with a great scenario when the money off coupon is good only after manufacturer and Walgreens coupons, but you should be able to come up some good deals. Take a look at this week's Walgreens Deals for the coupon match-ups.

Here is one idea to use this coupon:
Purchase (2) Benadryls $7.98 - use (2) $1 coupon
Purchase (4) Keebler Cookies $10 - use (2) $1 off 2 coupons
Purchase (1) Advil and (1) ThermaCare $10.48 - use $3 coupon when you buy both
Purchase (1) Goody Hair accessory $2.99
Purchase (4) 2-pocket folders .68
Use $5 off $25 coupon

Total out of pocket: $20.13
Receive Register Rewards: $5 Benadryl, $5 Kellogg's, $2 Goody, $3 Advil & ThermaCare

Net Cost: $5.13 after Register Rewards

What is your plan to use this coupon? Please, leave a comment with your ideas.

  1. I assume that they will count previous RRs as coupons, right? So I can't use any of my RRs from last week to do this...Not that it's not a good deal, it just makes things more challenging. :)

  2. Yes, RR count as coupons. I agree this coupon is a challenge.

Several of the RR deals are sponsored by the same manufacturer. I usually do small transaction at Walgreens, so I'm not sure if you can do two RR deals by the same manufacturer in one transaction if you will get both RR. And if you ask anyone at Walgreens, they wouldn't know the answer.

Maybe Kas can help us out? She know all the quirks when couponing. Kas???

  3. I'm a he and my father showed me the ropes on bargain hunting.

Buying an Accu-Chek Aviva would eat up $9.99 and there is in-box rebate for the cost.

  4. I'm so sorry Kas. I should never assume a gender with a name. Especially me, since I've got a mans name.

Do you know if you use the Accu-Chek coupon will you receive the rebate?

  5. I have read on some rebate forms particularly on medical supplies saying "rebate on the purchase amount after coupon" or something like this. So what I always do is read the Mail-in Rebate form BEFORE buying the item especially when I am using coupons/RR/store % discounts.

  6. Btw, obviously I am girl but I always wanted to have a boy's name to be more unique! :) Don't like the idea of changing my name now though, it's a lot of paperwork! I like my name but I wish I had a say when my parents named me! LOL.

  8. Use the coupon from last week coupon inserts and no rebate. IMHO, members of two large boards that cater to bargain hunters badly abuse the rebates on these meters.

Just not a good week to achieve that $25 without buying unneccessary stuff.

  9. One could buy items for the Coors Light B$30 and receive a $10 rebate by mail. With the rebate form is a $1.00 MQ that good on (1) Tostitos Tortilla Chips and (1) Jar of Dip. A bag of chip is $1.99 and I have no clue on the dip.
