  1. Hi! I recently found your blog and I have enjoyed your information! Thank you! I live in the O'Fallon area and I did the same transactions as you did and my OOP was way higher than yours. I looked at my reciept and there is a 8.9% sales tax which is making up for the difference. Do you know if the sales tax is this high only in O'Fallon or is it the same in all of the St. Louis area? Thank you so much for your time and your blog!!

  3. Myssie - I'm glad you found my blog. When I post scenarios, I don't include tax because the tax a person pays is different depending where you they are located. In Missouri tax is calculated after coupons. So if you use lots of coupons you pay almost no tax. O'Fallon tax is high. I pay 8.241% in the city of St Louis for non-food items and that is higher than most areas in the county.

mom23 - You can only buy one like item at a time if you want to receive Register Rewards for each that you purchase. If two items are offering RR you could purchase both in one transaction and get RR from both of them. But I like to use the RR from one item to pay for the other item. You won't get another RR if you pay with a RR from the same product you are purchasing. It sounds more confusing than it really is.

  4. Shampoo and toothbrushes are my 2 favoritest things to get for free at Walgreens! I am having great fun rolling one into the other this week. I wish we would have gotten $1/2 Jello coupons like other regions did, then the Jello would be free too. My sales tax in Kirkwood is "only" 7.575% and 7.85% in Des Peres and Rock Hill.

  5. CJ - I agree, I love free shampoo especially when there is another free item, so you can roll the RRs.
