Our old lights are gathered, but we haven't been to Home Depot yet. Have you taken advantage of this deal and what does a new string of LED lights cost?

  1. Speaking of "recycle", we need to get rid of our old and not working computers. Do you know of a place here in St. Louis that would have them without any fee?

  2. coupon.girl - I don't but every once in awhile I've heard about special recyle events. I'll post the next one I hear about.

Are you sure that old computer is not working? We(my son) fixed up an old non-working laptop we call "Tinkerbell". We call her that because the cursor flitters around and is hard to catch. But, I can print a second set of coupons now!

  3. Jeri,
Lowe's will honor the $3.00 coupon and LED their lights are cheaper. I just went this morning. Also, Home Depot has a deal with Ameren now on 4pack 13W=40W for 1.85. Ameren is subsidizing the price.

  5. The American warehouse stores have a free e-cycling program. I've seen little blurbs in their weekly ads. You can also find more info here http://www.americantv.com/pages/e-cycle.jsp There is a limit of 2 e-cycled products per household per day.

EPC, which is off 370 and I-70, also recycle PC for free and monitors for a few bucks. I know there's a non-profit agency in North City that take in PC, help people learn about technology and then give 'em a working PC. Places like Goodwill frown upon dumping old electronics off at the back door and probably refuse 'ancient' hardware.

  8. Rhonda - Great idea to use the Home Depot coupon at Lowes. And, thanks for passing on the light bulb deal. Do you know how long this deal is running?

  10. Jeri,
I don't know how long. I am stopping by there today for some more. I am giving them as XMAS gifts. Trying to "GREEN" the family. Will let you know.

  11. Computer Nerdz already checked the CPU. Paid them $89 for an hour "check up" work, for informing us that all files cannot be recovered and that it's much better if we just get a new one for a lot of reasons. Anyways, much thanks everyone for all the info and links where we can bring our nonworking computers. Really appreciate it.

  12. Rhonda - I'm anxious to hear back. I stopped at my Home Depot and they didn't have any light bulbs for that price. I was bummed. I'm hoping your store still has that price.

coupon.girl - Thanks for passing on the price for a check up. I dumped my cup of coffee on the laptop this moring and killed the thing. I'm debating to see if it can be fixed or just bite the bullet and get a new one.

I'm tryin to work on "Tinkerbell" - not fun. :(

  13. Jeri--it's a bit late, but we were able to do the LED Christmas lights deal. You could turn in one strand for a coupon, and the coupon could be used for $3 off of up to 5 sets of lights. We got 5 sets of LED white lights and 5 sets of LED colored lights for $30 total. Be aware--the LED lights are like miniature spotlights!!

  14. Courtney - Thank for the info and prices. I hope Home Depot does this promotion again next year.

This deal interested me, but I just wasn't ready to dig out the Christmas stuff yet. I'll leave the lights that are needing replaced on top of the Christmas boxes and if they offer this again next year, I'll be ready.
