  1. So will this CVS ever get a liquor license?

[quote]CVS buys land for second Gravois store

is continuing its buying spree in St. Louis with the nearly $3 million purchase of property at Chippewa and Gravois where it plans to build a new store.

CVS closed on one of the parcels, at 4100 Gravois, from WT Investments for $2.3 million. That property formerly housed McMahon Ford, which relocated to Kinsghighway. CVS also bought a neighboring parcel at 4008 Chippewa for $400,000 from BMT Corp. Both sales closed Friday.

CVS spokesman Mike DeAngelis said construction will start this spring and the store will open later this year or early 2011.

This Gravois store will join another CVS store located three miles south, at 7320 Gravois, that CVS opened in January. Also in January, CVS opened three other stores: 7334 Lindbergh Blvd. in St. Louis; 9141 Olive Blvd. in Olivette and 15846 Manchester Road in Ellisville.

A Ballwin location is planned to open this fall at the southwest corner of Clayton and Henry Roads.

In January, CVS’ developer, Ohio-based Cedarwood Development Inc., acquired 1.66 acres at 11550-11560 Olive Blvd. in Creve Coeur for an undisclosed amount from the Koman Group for a nearly 13,000 square foot store to open this fall.

  2. Hi kas - Woo Hoo! Chippewa and Gravois is closer to home. Thanks for the updates on CVS's expansion.

Who knows if the Hampton/Gravois store will ever get a liquor license. I hear crazy things in the city and don't know if any of them are true.
    - The City is out of liquor liceses for the year.
    - One or two neighbors can keep a business from getting a liquor license.
    - A business won't get a liquor license unless the Aldreman agrees to it.

The reason they don't have one is probably something completely different than what I hear.

  3. I hoping for a CVS someday in Kirkwood. Or even Crestwood or Sunset Hills or Des Peres or Rock Hill. I'm not too picky! The trek to South County gets a little long some days.

  4. Hi CJ - Hopefully, you will end up with a CVS in all of those locations someday.
