My Splurge
I didn't think to get a picture of my splurge this week. I bought catfish and fresh bakery buns. I love having my splurge budget; it's nice to have the cushion in the budget for items that aren't the most frugal. Before sales: $19.59

Splurge Fund: $94.75
For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. They are for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.
Seeing the Sunday paper pic, I just have to talk about the coupon for B1G1 Purex that expired last Mar. 6. I had the misfortune of finding (5) of them beside the Purex detergent YESTERDAY at ShopNSave. :( FIVE! It would have been (10) FREE bottles of detergent at Wags. Big UGHS!
ReplyDeleteFrom now on, I think if there's a good coupon on an item, on its expiry date, I better look at the item at the stores. There's a possibility someone will leave the coupon with the item.
Btw, it "puzzles" me that someone would buy 5 or maybe more Sunday papers for the Qs but won't look for better deals at other stores to use them on. :I
Hi coupon.girl - Coupon fairys are nice, but too bad the coupons were expired. I'm thinking the person that left them was brand loyal. That's a mistake when you could get free detergant.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see what you were planning on buying at schnucks earlier in the week.I have a schnucks in my area and don't find much on the internet as far as deals go except on your blog, and by Saturday I am usually done shopping for the week. Thank you for sharing your deals.
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymouse - That not a bad idea. I also love to see what other people are planning to buy. I put together my grocery shopping list on Wed. night or Thurs. morning. SNS has trained all of us in St Louis to shop on Thursdays.
ReplyDeleteI'll see if I can fit in a post about my shopping plans on Wed. and see if readers will chime in on what their plans are for the week also.
wow, great deals. good job! :)
ReplyDeletethe thin mint ice cream sounds soooo yummy! is it tasty?
Hi Cassie - I love Girl Scout Thin Mints, but I though the ice cream was only so-so. My husband and son had not problem finishing off the carton. But, the Samoa ice cream was even better than the cookies!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering how you know what the Schnucks or Dierbergs catalinas are spitting out in advance? Can you post this info when you know it? That would be so helpful. LOOOVE this blog. Going back through all the old posts to learn things!!
