Menu Plan Monday - Week of 8/30/10
I'm planning to cook a few meals inside this week. I sure hope the weather cooperates.
Monday: Pasta con broccoli, garlic bread, green salad,
Tuesday: Honey mustard chicken wraps, peaches
Wednesday: Pizza, green salad
Thursday: Dinner at a school event
Friday: Chicken Marsala with Linguine, peas, garlic bread,
Saturday: Hamburgers, chips, corn
Sunday: BBQ Ribs, baked beans, fruit

I keep meaning to make that pasta con broccoli. Hopefully someday!
ReplyDeleteHi CJ - It's a very easy recipe. You can easlily make substitutes without affecting the taste too much. I never use cream, but usually use half & half and even have used skim milk and it's still great.
ReplyDeletePasta Con Broccoli can also be done in a 8" suete pan, since it's easier to work a lunch or dinner rush with a stack of pans. While cooking/reduction does thicken what your cooking, it's really the Parmesan cheese that does the job. Whether you want to grate your piece of cheese or buy a 'refrigerated' bag, far better than what Kraft offers. I would prepare a marinara sauce and use it, instead of a tomato sauce.
ReplyDeleteFinally be mindful of your spices and seasonings. I've worked in kitchens that had items purchased years ago and kept for ??? Also to save time while prepping or cooking, the containers are kept in a warm to hot envirnoment.

ReplyDeleteJeri - I'm lazy and cheap so I'm going with your version! I'm gonna subsitute cream of mushroom soup and skim milk for the cream.
