Schnucks Deals: 9/13/10 - 9/19/10

A General Mills Catalina deal at Schnucks this week that overlaps with Old El Paso and Pillsbury Refrigerated Baked Goods Catalina deals.

I was at Schnucks yesterday afternoon picking up my Purina One, before the coupon expired, and found out they didn't even bother to put all the participating products for the Catalina coupon in their ad. The did included the Catalina deal info on their sale tags. I found quite a few additional participating product, but there could be more out there.

There could be lots of great scenarios with this Catalina deal. Please share your ideas and scenarios in comments.

Note: The Twin Oaks store matches Shop 'n Save's $10 off $50 Thursday. Make sure you take a Shop 'n Save ad with you to the Twin Oaks Schnucks to take advantage of this offer.

Remember:
1. Schnucks doubles coupons .40 and less in the St. Louis area.
2. Limit of 15 coupons doubled.
3. Ask for a rain check if they are out of a sale item.
4. On a B1G1 sales you have to buy two to get the deal.
5. Items on a 10/$10 sale ring up $1 each. You don't have to buy 10.

I only highlight the best deals. Take a look at Schnucks full ad HERE.

But PLEASE note **the OEP seasonings are not included in the buy 10 get $5 oyno it is in the box but NOT included. But if you do buy 6 seasonings @.67 ea you do receive the $3.00 Meat cat. =) HTH

  3. Hi Janet - I was just coming back to change this post after reading your comment on the the FREE Purnia One post.

How can schnucks put the seasoning in their ad with the Cat deal and not honor it? I wonder if they have posted a correction at the store.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hi T - I was thinking about Twin Oaks too, but I'm not sure if the GM deal stacks. Since no one but Twin Oaks shoppers would even care, I'm not sure anyone will test it. If you find out more let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hi Jeri--They might have to put a correction out. When I was there I went to CS after it did not print the $5 Cat and she called Catalina--well we know it takes 24 hours for info to show at Catalinas end--they will investigate and let me know via mail. =) When I got home, I had rec'd the master list and double checked and the seasonings were not on there. =(

    I did do:
    3 OEP soft shells
    3 OEP hard shells
    4 BC box potatoes

Rec'd back the $5 Cat and $3 OEP Meat cat. All was good on my end--I will not complain if I do not receive the other $5 Cat--it all started with getting paid to "buy" LOL butter =) And my Glade candles sure do smell good--I hate to pay for those. =)

Another good note--I did receive the $10 Cat for the Kelloggs deal for SNS. Lots to play with this week. =)

  6. Jeri, the GM booklet was part of a display and only at one of the Florissant stores.

  8. Can you use a Catalina that you got at SNS at Schnucks?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Brandi, According to an email I rec'd from Schnucks corporate, they accept catalina's for specific products that were triggered at other stores, but not for $$ off OYNOs. So if you had a catalina for $1 off cheerios from SNS, you could take it to Schnucks and they would honor it.

I know some have reported luck with giving SNS $$/off cats to Schnucks and having them accepted, but it is very much YMMV.

  15. Does anyone know if the Pillsbury grands are included in the GM deal

    ReplyDelete
  16. I did a GM deal this morning, used my $12 in overage to pay for various items:
    6 cinnamon rolls (various varieties)
    1 Wheat Flour
    2 cookie mixes
    1 Taco shell
I received one $1 (should have been $3) and the $5 didn't print. Janet--where can I find a link to the list. They gave me me $5, so I'm only out $2, but it's bothering me because I'm thinking about Twin Oaks on Thursday.
P.S. my store had the brochures, but I don't think anyone else in Eureka reads the blog! Kelly E.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi Melissa--TYVM--it does not take long to "get it"--I think if others "see" ideas then you can make it work your way =)

Anon--Looks like PB Grands-all flavors 8 cts on the upc list. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hi Kelly--Not sure about that Wheat Flour?-was it marked $1.50 and was all the cinna rolls @3/$5? Sometimes on the first couple days of a sale not all items are programmed correctly. If you did purchase all items--keep your receipt and call Catalina Marketing at least 24 hours after your purchase and they will help you. Ms. Jeri posted info for Catalina Marketing--they are very nice and if all works out they do send the cats in speedy time. HTH

Also-I cannot find any GM flours on the master list. And no link for the list as it was sent to my personal email. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Janet--all prices were correct and the Flour had signs by them--all four varieties! White, Unbleached, self-rising, wheat--all 1.50 (what a great buy). Anyway, they gave me the five cat, maybe I'll call about the cinnamon rolls. CS thought it was the cookie mixes that were the problem, and switched a cookie mix, same flavor, same size, only with more or less box tops (not sure at this point).

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks everyone for the info and answering questions.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ballwin store has the GM coupon books... And a Kashi coupon book... And a new Kellogs Tailgating coupon book. The cinnamon rolls produced a cat for me. It might be the cookie mix because that's the only one out of 4 transactions that didn't print the $5. Customer service took care of it for me though.

    Teresa

    ReplyDelete
  22. 6 cinnamon rolls and 4 cookie mixes, both $5 and $3 cats printed.

4 cinnamon rolls, 2 pizza crusts, 4 cookie mixes, $3 cat printed but $5 cat did not print.

6 pizza crusts, 2 cookie mixes, 2 instant potatoes, $3 cat printed but $5 cat did not print.

CS gave me the $5 both times but were going to call someone (catalina company?) to see what's up.

Also, in the 9/12GM insert there was a 35c/1 Pillsbury sweet rolls coupon. I didn't see it listed in the match-up, but it made for a terrific deal. It's on the same page as the 35c/1 pizza crust Q.

My summary: spent $9.08 on the debit card and left with two $3 cats and $10 cash and lots of food for both people and pets. :)

Thank you, Jeri. I couldn't do this without you. It's so much fun and my kids thank you and my husband thanks you.

  23. The Schnucks on S. Lindbergh has the GM coupon books on the top shelf of the display in the produce aisle.

  24. Hi All--And WTG Gloria =)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Does the store usually know if it will stack? (ie - If we call Twin Oaks, do you think they will know whether the GM will stack?)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Gloria - Great job. I missed the .35 coupon for sweet rolls. Thanks!

Thanks also for breaking down your transactions. I know Cats can be confusing to the new couponer and I'm sure it helps to see what others are doing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hi Kelly in West County - I doubt the store would know if the Catalina is stacking. I don't know how friendly Customer Service is at Twin Oaks, but you could ask them to scan 20 items to see what happened.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kelly in West County and Twin Oaks shoppers -

Janet just left a message on my Old El Paso post that the GM Catalina is stacking.

She bought 20 GM products and recieved two $5 Catalina coupons.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Woohoo!!! Twin Oaks, here I come!
    Thanks, Janet & Jeri!

  30. Hi All--Also if you do find the Better at Home booklet with the -1/2 B/C Potato boxes this coupon makes the free after cat deal.

    Rec. $5 Cat back =)

If you have a $5 cat to roll--pay only tax =)

  31. I just got back from Schnucks to use my Purina One coupons and try the OEP deal. I bought
    4 OEP green chiles
    4 OEP seasonings
    2 OEP refried beans
The $3 OEP printed, but the $5 GM did not. I went to CS and they fixed it no problem. Any ideas on what the problem was? The chiles were in the ad, but not marked in the store as part of the GM deal. Also, one of the seasonings I bought was fajita. I don't remember if that was one was marked. Has anyone bought either of those and had the GM print or not print. Also, does anyone know if the green chiles are part of the OEP deal? I would love to stock up on them. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I just bought the fajita seasoning and the cat printed.

I still haven't found the GM coupon booklet. I've been to the Schnucks at Olive & Lindbergh and Lindbergh & 40. Oh well...I'm still making money!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks for the info at the fajita seasoning.
The Schnucks at Olive and Lindbergh has the booklets. They are in a big display right when you walk in the door, pretty close to the carts. I missed them the first time I walked by them.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks, JB. I guess I walked by them, too. I asked at the register if they had them and the cashier said no.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ziploc Containers 2/$4 use $1.50 coupon off 2 and get a catalina for 1.50 ends up being .50 cents each.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hi JB - I bought Chili's plus a few other GM products today and didn't get the $5 Cat. The Chili's look like the common thread. As long as your store will fix the problem, go ahead and stock up.

    ReplyDelete
  37. To everyone still looking for the Better at Home coupon book.

I've seen them at two stores in a small display box, on an end aisle with some of the products in the booklet. They were tucked in with the products, so not the easiest to spot.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi Jeri & All--I found the BAH booklets by the entrance/cart/ad areas also. It was a larger stand up cardboard display--this was at two nicer Schnucks =)

I am sooo glad it has been another good week to stock up. I will be buying chicken breast with the meat cats I have--we love cken kabobs =)

Seen one of my favorite Schnucks cashiers today and she was more than greatful to learn about the OEP deal-I even had to go out and get her the BAH booklets to go with the deal =)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Does anyone know if only those three GM cereals are included in the deal

    ReplyDelete
  40. The pillsbury catalina- is it the same as at SNS meaning is it national...because when i bought pillsbury sweet moments at SNS they were part of the catalina...should they work at Schnucks also?

    ReplyDelete
  41. When I went to Twin Oaks at 2:30 am, they did not have "the code" to take $10/$50. I plan to call them later today to see about getting my $10 back.

I skipped the chilis thanks to everyone's advice. Didn't want to mess with that drama w/ customer service not open. Tostada shells are included in the cats and are priced at $1.25.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi Sadina - I would think if Sweet Moments worked in the Pillsbury Cat at SNS that it would also at Schnucks, but every store could code for the Cat a little different.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hi Anonymous - Schnucks has the GM Cat info included on the sale tags this week. The three cereals I listed were the only ones I found with the info. So I think they are the only ones, but I might have missed some of the tags.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi Kelly in West County - I love hearing about peoples middle of the night shopping tips. You're either quite the late night owl or early bird.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Kelly, I had the same idea, but didn't do it. Glad I didn't now!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. It actually worked out in my favor. When I found out that they couldn't do the $10/$50 this morning, I did four seperate transactions to roll my cats and received $6 more in cats than I would have doing one transaction (I don't think multiple cats are printing on Pillsbury or OEP wyb 12 but don't know that for sure) - since I didn't know if I would get the $10/$50.

When I called this morning, they said they would make an exception and honor the sum of the multiple receipts. I went back in and they gave me the $10 back.

I am neither a night owl nor an early bird. It was a fluke that I was up until midnight last night and have a jam packed day today. Figured I would do my trips last night when I knew I could get them in (and didn't have kiddos.)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hi Kelly in West County - Wow! It did work out well.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The Sweet Moments produced the Catalina for me. I did 2 Sweet Moments and 4 Cookie Doughs in a transaction and got the $3 Catalina from Pillsbury, which makes the Sweet Moments free when you use the $1.50 coupon!

    ReplyDelete
  49. BOOO to schnucks. The GM cataline did not print, but the OEP did print. They wouldn't honor it. They said to write my name on this notebook that had 10 other names on it - that catalina would mail us something. Seriously? They lost some major points here.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hi Anonymous - Quite a few of us ended up without the $5 Cat on the products in the ad. When it happened to me, my store gave me a $5 giftcard. I'm not sure that is what they were really suppose to do, but they kept me happy. I hope you also contacted Corporate Customer Relations and expressed your unhappiness of how this was handled.

You could contact Catalina Marketing yourself. (877) 210-1917 Have your receipt in hand when you give them a call. I've been very happy when I've called them about a Catalina that didn't print. In fact, it might be easier dealing with the problem by calling them than going to Customer Service.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Okay - I think it is the green chiles not working....
I have done this deal already this week with most everything else and today bought those and it didn't work. In the end, they let me keep 3 $3 meat cats that kept printing and I finally got my $5. So, after my time it was worth it. But I think it is the chiles messing with us

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi Andrea - I agree, I think it's the chiles. At least most Schnucks have been good about making right for people.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi Andrea--Good to hear you have been out getting the deals also. I did not do the chiles. I think the last OEP deal I had gotten a jar of Jalapeno slices and they did not count toward the deal. I am glad to hear also most Schnucks are doing the right thing. When I went in on Monday to test the seasonings--and the cat did not print--I was looked at like I had three heads. LOL. This one is a small Schnucks--so little do they know about cats and such. But all in all a very good week. Waiting for some chicken to go on sale to use these cats on =) And I put together a huge bag for the donation center--thanks to Rhonda for the reminder of a local one. =)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Does anyone know the end date of the GM catalina?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hi T - I'm assuming it was over on Sunday. They had this Cat advertised on the sale shelf tags. I didn't look for an ending date. If anyone knows differntly please leave a commnet.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I did not see the GM catalina promo shelf tag on the Dannon yogurt. It had another kind of special shelf tag but it was not the GM one, it was pink. Can anyone confirm the Dannon is part of the GM 10 items? It seems odd for both Yoplait and Dannon to be in the same promo so I thought maybe someone saw Dannon's special shelf tag and assumed it was the GM once since they are about the same size.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi Wendi S - I might of messed up with the Dannon & Yoplait. But I think the GM offer is over now.
