Saved 90% This Week

This might have been my best week ever at the grocery store. Savings percentages always look great from the drugstores, but grocery shopping isn't usually this good.

Shop 'n Save
I made three trips to Shop 'n Save on Thursday to take advantage of the $10 off $50. I also used a $5 off $50 coupon from the Entertainment Book on each trip, and had $10 in Catalina coupons to start with.  Thanks readers, for finding all the additional deals.

Before sales & coupons: $215.51
Spent: $8.76  (Hubby says omg!!!)
Saved: $206.01 for a 96% savings

Schnucks
I had a couple of $1 off sausage coupons that came from a beer display, and a couple of $3 off your next order Catalinas.  It's so fun to pay your bill with pocket change.

Before sales & coupons: $12.91
Spent: $0.35 + $6 in Catalina coupon
Saved: $12.56 for a 97% savings

Dierbergs
Before sales & coupons: $27.75
Spent: $10.32
Saved: $17.43 for a 63% savings

Aldi
Comparable Schnucks price; $12.55
Spent: $8.27
Saved: $4.27 for a 34% savings

Weekly Totals
Before sales & coupons: $265.72
Spent: $27.70
Saved: $241.01 for a 90% savings

Year to Date Totals
Spent: $1,715.79 ($40 weekly average)
Saved: $6,115.66 ($142 weekly average)

Splurge Funds: $70.09

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.

  7. Thanks, Everyone!

Laurie - I'm not very exciting at the store, except when I'm checking out. The exciting part is putting my plan together so my oop will be as low as possible.

Liz - Fantastic shopping when you get below $20 on a $10 off $50. Don't get hung up on comparing yourself to others, if you brought home what is right for your family.

Psycho Sarah - You'll get there.

coupon.girl - Nutella wasn't on sale. It runs $3.08 at SNS (about the sale price as the other stores.) But, if I'm going to use the coupon that was out a month ago or so, I my as well pick Nutella up on a $10 off $50.
