Does anyone know the price on the Decaf Folgers? I can only drink decaf and it is always more expensive. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous - The ad doesn't give any clues about which varieties might be on sale. It just says 11 oz. an pictures Classic Roast.
ReplyDeleteI couldnt get a $5/$20 coupon so all I got today was 8 Cokes (had 7 free coupons from Coke Rewards), milk and free CVS dental picks with red machine coupon from last week. Got an ECB on my receipt for a free Coke for having bought 9 bottles with my card. Apparently its an ongoing deal, I've seen it on my receipt for the past couple months.
ReplyDeleteMy deal today:
ReplyDelete5 Finish Powerball tabs $3 each
1 CVS toothbrush $.99 (in the travel section)
4 Gain dish soap $.99 each
=$19.95
- $5/$20 (no beeps even though a few cents short)
-$.75 x 5 Finish powerball (11/7 SS or printable)
-$1 CVS oral care (CRT from last week)
-$1 x 4 Gain (10/10 P&G) (last one beeped to be adjusted down)
Total $6.24 + tax
(I used a $5.98 ECB to pay)
Get $5 Finish ECB back. (like spending $1.24)
I was on my last box of dishwashing detergent from the last deal over a year ago, so this was great timing for me. :)
Also, one of the generic CRTs this week is for $1 off GE CFL bulbs. There is also a $1 MQ in the paper this weekend. They are on sale this week for $2.99, making them $.99 AC.
Do you have to use the $5/$20 coupon in one of the new stores or will they take it in IL? I am debating buying a Post Dispatch instead of the usual Belleville paper.
ReplyDeleteIs the $5 off $20 before coupons or after?
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
ReplyDeleteThe $5 off $20 is before coupons. Just make sure you give that coupon FIRST while your total is still $20 or more. Then give all your other coupons.
Hi CJ - Those $5 off $20 coupons in the PD are really spotty. I check through papers at Walgreens today and it was amazing the differences in which ads were included in the papers.
ReplyDeleteHi JG - Thanks for sharing your sceanrio!
Hi Barb - The $5/$20 coupon says, "Redemable at our St Louis Locations only" I used one at one of the stores that had been open since Jan. I would think the IL stores would consider themselves ST Louis locations, but who knows if they are in the same district.
Check you PD before you buy if you're looking for the CVS coupon. It's really spotty, some papers have a CVS ad and others don't.
Hi Cheryl and KC - I usually always give a $/$$ coupon first, but today I was all messed up and didn't hand that coupon over until last. It still worked. I thought I was going to have to have the cashier re-ring the entire transaction.
ReplyDeleteThe CVS people seem to be proactively coupon-friendly.
ReplyDeleteyou know... like WAGS "used" to be...
ArmyMomx2
I was able to use the $5/20 in IL.
ReplyDeleteHi ArmyMomx2 - I love the coupon friendly CVS's. Even though I shop at a "good" Walgreens, I'm not sure it's ever as good of expierence. I love the no fillers needed and the fact they will reduce a ECV by a few cents at CVS.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy - Thanks for letting us know they will accept the coupon in IL.
Hubby dropped me off on his way to work at the newly opened Gravois cor Chippewa store this morning. My curiousity at the new store made it worth the walk going back home which I also hoped before leaving the house won't be regrettable. Their weekly ad paper didn't have the $5 off $20 coupon on it. Talked to the manager about it and he told me that the cashier will just take off $5 from my $20 total purchases. So, it's worth discussing about this to your St. Louis' store manager.
ReplyDeleteI bought (got ;) the following:
(1) Freedom Lite $14.99 (the last one on the shelf)
(2)Renuzit @.99 = 1.98
(1)Kleenex = .89
(4)Mentos @1.79 = 7.16
Subtotal: $25.02
Coupons:
-$5 off $20
-(2)x $1 Renuzit IPQ
-$10 Freedom LiteQ
-(2)x$1.79 (Got a B1G1 Mentos raincheck)
-(4)x$1 Mentos Q
Qs = $24.58
"Expected" OOP is 44 cents and received $5 ExtraBucks from FreedomLite.
So when cashier told me that I owe 62 cents, it was ok because I thought the 18 cents is for the tax.
I was surprised when I saw the "(-)56 cents Subtotal" and the "(+)$1.18 for tax" on my receipt. The negative subtotal partly took care of the tax that's why I was only charged 62cents. I was like, oh good thing I messed up with my computation since I did not know that the tax would be calculated BEFORE coupons which is a lesson learned about that store.
I asked for a raincheck for the Entertainment Book because they still did not get their copies. Worth the phone call inquiry and the trip if you want to get a raincheck as well. Would give us time to collect EBs to use on it. I was thinking of asking a raincheck for another Freedomlite but it says on the Ad limit (1) per household even though on the receipt it says I can still get another one. I did not want to make another discussion with the manager so I passed on it. And just as I exited the door, I overheard the young boy cashier said this to the nice manager: "She only spent less than a dollar on her purchases." Oh my... Now I'm "labeled" at that store. :I
While walking home I was still wondering why I had a negative subtotal. Then, it dawned on me that when I put back on its shelf the CVS dental flosser before I checked out, I forgot to take out the $1 CVS oral care coupon from the coupons I handed to the cashier. Register took it. Made me feel bad. I always am an honest couponer so when I do something like this, it really bothers me. Anyways...this was my CVS trip today. A mixture of bad and good feeling. So sorry CVS for the $1 coupon mistake. And I might just go to Hampton cor Gravois next time. They DON'T charge tax BEFORE coupons and cashiers there are not bewildered when my OOP is less than $1. :I
coupon.girl - Great shopping!! The few times I give a coupon by mistake I feel it all balances out because there are plenty of times when the store misses a coupon of mine. It's interesting how CVS's registers wont beep when there's no item to match a coupon, but Walgreens' registers seem to beep all the time even when they match!
ReplyDeleteHi coupon.girl - Good for you for asking about the $5 off $20 coupon. It never hurts to ask and many times it's weel worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteI shopped at the new store in South City on Sunday. I too noticed the weird things going on with tax. I bought a Freestyle meter also, I didn't look at my receit until I read your commnet. Mine too says 1 to reach limit. The limit must be two this week.
Which manager did you talk to? One of them came from the other South City store.
Hi, CJ. Thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteMs. Jeri, the one that came from South City store was the manager I talked to. I remember him but I don't think he remembers me. He has always been very accommodating. I hope he stays that way. :)
Hi coupon.girl - I hope so too.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter had the same problem with tax at the other new CVS location. She shops there often and the taxes add up, so she called CVS CS. They agreed tax was not being figured properly and said they would make it a high priority. Obviously, it is still a problem. They did tell her she would get an extra ECB the next time she shopped to compensate for the taxes she had paid. I would recommend you -- and anyone else who has this problem -- call CVS CS and speak to them. What they are doing is wrong and frequent reminders might help it get corrected sooner.
I called CS about the Creve Coeur store tax issue. The CS rep was really nice on the phone. She wanted very specific information, so if you call have your receipts handy. She called back a few days later to say I was right and she was crediting me a $3 ECB. The receipt I gave her only showed $.04 overpayment, but I have been there several times and have probably overpaid by more than $3 at this point. She said they were making it a high priority to get it fixed. I went back almost a week later and it still hasn't been fixed. Hopefully, when they fix one store, they will fix them all. I encourage anyone who has had the problem to call. If we keep calling, it might make them fix it sooner. If nothing else, you will probably get some money back.
ReplyDeleteHi KC and JB - Thanks for the info. So the tax problems isnt' just with the South City Store. I'm also going to go back and talk to the manager at the South City store. I know him from the other store and hopefully I can get some insight into when this might get fixed.
