Walgreens $5 Scenario - Week of 11/7/10

The most cost effective way to shop at Walgreens is to roll your Register Rewards from week to week.

If you are following my Walgreens $5 Scenarios,  you have a $2 Kimberlsy-Clark  Register Reward to start this week.

Check out all of this week's Walgreens deals HERE.

Note: When you purchase Clabber Girl Baking Powder, Renuzit Adjustables, Reach Dental Floss and  use both the manufacturer and in-ad coupons you might get overage.  Walgreens' cashiers are suppose to adjust the coupons so they don't give overage, but many don't.  I've typed up this scenario to reflect the cashiers adjusting the coupons.  Your total out of pocket could be better than what I've listed.

  1. 4 oz. Clabber Girl baking powder is 2/$1.00 this week, per the in-ad coupon on Page 3. I don't think the printable coupon has any size exclusions!

  2. Hi Emily - "pirce unknown" probably isn't the wording I should have used. I way trying to relay that I didn't know the regular shelf price, since that is what it will ring up as. And the 2/$1 coupon will appear on the receipt as a deduction. I had better think of better wording.

  3. Ahhh I see! Yes, I was a bit confused...although it has been "one of those weeks" - or should I say "couple of months?" :)

  4. The Clabber Girl actually has a size restriction of 8.1 oz and up. It's in the tiny print after where the address for redemption is shown.

  7. Made $6 profit with the Neutragen and Similison rebates using coupons. Also got sour cream, muffin mix, and free Reach toothbrush. Used $19 in coupons and RRs, paid $10 OOP and will get $25.98 back for the rebates :)

  8. HI Anonymous - Good catch with the size restriction for Clabber girl. I printed the coupon before I included it in my match-ups. I would have never though to read the fine print for a size restriction. I guess lesson learned and I'll read every word. Thanks!

Hi Diane - I think the placement of the size restriction is really poor. It probably does scan, but if Walgreens dosen't carry the 8.1 or larger size, they are likely not to get reinbursed for the coupon. When that happens, they think couponers are out to pull one over on them even though people are trying to use coupons correctly. I think size restriction should be placed where everyone can see them easily.

Hi CJ - Thanks for the Sunday update!

  9. I got 2 more Reach toothbrushes along with a corn muffin mix. The cashier scanned the Wags Reach coupon before the Reach printables and they went through with no beeping, no adjustment needed. Dont know if the mix is what kept it from beeping, or maybe the register was just having a good day :)

  10. Hi CJ - Maybe the registers are getting in the holiday sprit and aren't going to beep at people so much.
